Crispy pork skin is called cuerito, not chicharrón. That's not just yellow rice--that's arroz con gandules. Aren't maduros called amarillos in PR? Glad you enjoyed all that food.

What month was this and what was the weather like?
Hello! I went on the month of May and it was very warm and sunny. I’d say it was consistently in the upper 80s and low 90’s and it did not rain any of the days I was there (I was there for about a week).

Yes it is! Real good spot to go to if you want to get a drink from the beach too cause it’s very close to the area where you can lay down and relax

That sticky rice looks like it'd taste like rice pudding. Looks hella good w that mango tho.
What made it amazing was the texture of the sticky rice and how they covered it with coconut milk 😮💨🤤🤤
I only went to El Rancho Original. Was there on a Saturday. Very busy and noisy. I got the same plate you bought with addition of morcilla. The lechón was ok, not great. Dried out and not hot. The morcilla was almost rancid. Still a great experience. They had live music and people were dancing up a storm. I like your idea of going midweek. Will do that next time for a more peaceful experience. The best morcilla I’ve had so far in PR was at the kiosks in Luquillo served by a beautiful 2XL Dominican woman. Food is an experience not to be missed in PR. I can’t wait to go back!

As a Puerto Rican I have to say that the best pork that exists is *Cochinillo* from Spain.
Haven’t had the opportunity to try that yet! Definitely on the list now though 👀🍖

in downtown or hotel zone?
Hello! This place is located 6 miles away from the hotel zone. My suggestion is that if you are staying at a resort, speak with the front desk to schedule a taxi ride from the resort to this place (called parque de las palapas) and back. The taxi driver can wait for you if you don’t plan on being there long. Or, you could also get a taxi ride back to your resort if you go out to the main road and look for one. Hope this helps
Would you recommend travelling during the first week of September? And when you went, what currency were you using to pay for the spa, paddle board, tipping, and other things? Sorry if it’s a dumb question
Hello! I believe that hurricane season is still going on during the month of September. I did a bit of research and the chances of your vacation being impacted by one are slim, though. So id say you'd be good going during the month of September. Personally, I've never went during that month but id say youd be fine in terms of the weather. I paid using my credit card (a US bank credit card), but they accept USD and Mexican pesos at the spa. The paddle board activity was free but any place or activity at the resort that you have to pay for can be paid in USD. Id highly encourage you to tip in USD (which is what I did) so that you can easily keep track of how much you are tipping. Now if you plan on going outside of the resort, most likely they will not take USD and you will have to pay with the Mexican peso No worries at all! All of those are great questions and I hope this has helped you out. Safe travels.

How was the nightlife?
Hello! And thanks for you comment. The nightlife in the resort itself was decent. They had live music playing, DJs at each of the several bars that they have at the resort. If you stay at the TRS side, you have access to all of the bars in the resort, including the ones in the Grand Palladium side. My suggestion is that If you want to experience the Cancun night life to the full extent take a visit to the “zona hotelera” which is also a tourist zone that has tons of clubs and bars. You’ll definitely have your fill in partying if you visit that zone. You can simply ask for a taxi from your resort to the hotel zone and they can coordinate that for you. Hope this helps!

Si la verdad es que mi familia y yo probamos diferentes comidas y todo absolutamente todo estuvo excelente el sabor muy diferente a cualquier otro lugar tanto aquí en Indiana como en otras ciudades que hemos visitado realmente tiene el sabor de México 🇲🇽 y la atención excelente súper amables el dueño se tomó el tiempo de ir hasta nuestra mesa para asegurarse de que todo estuviera exactamente como lo pedimos y de que no nos hiciera falta nada y eso no es algo muy común.
