amazing video, love this man !
Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!
I loved your unfiltered content sir ✨
Thank you sir… glad you enjoyed it! 😁
Drunk? Maybe english isn't your first language or modernity has swallowed your sensibilities but its not entirely an appropriate adjective to use for engineers who spent probably 20 times longer to engineer this supercar killing car to the base model... the analogy just reeks post modern vitriol or you're trying to be jeremy clarkson but without any reason why the audience should accept you as such.
I apologise if I’ve offended you @arno7303. I was simply trying to reference the fact that some of the greatest ideas come out over drinks. The fact that Audi made a car as capable as the RS3 wrapped in the shell of a hatch is ridiculous and brilliant all at once (and a credit to its designers and engineers) - I hope I’ve been able to convey that throughout the rest of the video. So, it’s certainly not bitter criticism or trying to channel Jeremy Clarkson; rather, trying to be my authentic self.
@@TheWordOnCars i appreciate the sincere message and i accept your reasoning. Hope to see more of your videos. God bless you
A45s all day 🚀
@J4Y027 might have to get an A45s and do a review for the AMG fans 😉
I own a 2016 rs3 and i would never say that the gearbox is even a bit sluggish in traffic (gearbox has been the same since the first rs3). Tho i have to say it has a tune on it. But in traffic it responds as if im driving a manual myself. If you want to know what a sluggish gearbox is... try my grandpas B-160. that thing takes 3-5 business days from pressing the pedal to actually moving.
Thanks @MigotRen, I found that every time I went straight off the brake and onto the gas from a standstill it took a fraction of a second to do nothing and then came alive all of a sudden (which seems to be common in anything with a DCT). Be keen to hear from any current gen RS3 owners on whether this is something they’ve experienced as well. And I actually laughed out loud when I read your comment about the B160 taking 3-5 business days (assuming you’re talking about the Merc by the way) 😂
I completely agree about the comfort and sheer luxury of the E220d Amg Premium. Bought one month ago after my other Mercedes E220d was written off by a van driver. That was not premium so the difference is marked and I would not change it for any other make or model. it's definitely a limousine true sense of the word. Living in England U.K age 78 yrs. Mileage 38000
Thanks @bazajow and also for sharing your experience. It’s hard to convey how good a car like the E220d is through a video so it’s always good to hear from the owners. Really glad to hear you’re enjoying it… great car!
You're absolutely right about it being eye-catching! I have an M40i in Frozen Gray with a magma red interior, and not a day goes by without someone stopping to stare or give a compliment. In my opinion, it’s the most beautiful BMW on the market right now, alongside the 8 Series. If only it sounded like the U.S. version... it would be perfect! Great video!
Thanks @aerobost and thanks also for sharing. I agree… I’d even go as far as saying that the Z4 is the prettiest BMW and the prettiest roadster in its class on sale right now. Oh and nothing a new exhaust can’t fix but who needs an exhaust though when it gets the attention it does 😉
M2 better
@G82Watts, no doubt the M2 being rear wheel drive is a fun car to drive. It’s a shame that BMW didn’t bring a 5-door hatch to the party to take on the RS3 and A45s AMG!
The sound isn’t, it’s 2 doors isn’t, around the track it isn’t
Starting prices in the UK £64,000 absolutely insane and 400 bhp & 500 nm isn't insanely fast anymore.
I hear you @Yhyujss and surprisingly, sounds like the RS3 is more expensive in the UK. But, power and torque numbers aside, it’s hard to find anything else down here for the price that accelerates as quickly and goes around corners as well as the RS3 does even though it is expensive. Just my two cents 🙂
@@TheWordOnCarsI got 2020 m5 competition for 42k here in the uk it’s around 620bhp stock
Nice ride @lukeskywalker1666 and that’s unbelievably cheap! Over here, your M5 Comp will cost over 90k pounds on the road so a brand new RS3 starts to make a lot of sense for the performance it offers. Cars and everything car related costs an arm and a leg over here 😢
@@TheWordOnCars car prices are crazy like u said mines still under warranty for another year then I’m gonna tune it stage 2 downpipe and a map should get 750-760 bhp it’s x drive too so not too bad round the bends
@lukeskywalker1666 that’s pretty good bang for buck… might have to come around and review your car when you’re done with the mods! 😏
It’s 4.8 seconds fool🙄
Great review!
@@davidkandell2804 thank you and glad you enjoyed it!
Car sucks and is far from insanely fast unless you're used to riding a bicycle. You're also about 3 years late on that video
I’ve got the new Vorsprung saloon here in the UK. What is annoying for me to see is that you get the coloured interior option, side assist, 360 camera and tyre monitor visuals, all removed from the UK market 😢
That’s quite surprising @pricey78, we don’t get the Vorsprung trim level for the RS3 in Australia but I would’ve expected it to have the features you’ve mentioned. I do know that Audi had a lot of issues because of the chip shortage (even more recently) so they were excluding some of the tech in some markets. Could that be the reason? As for the interior, I was under the impression the Vorsprung trim was the most luxury trim level Audi offers. Could it be that they consider the RS Design Pack (that throws in the red or green highlights) to be more sporty than luxury so kept it out? 🤔
@@TheWordOnCars So mine is a late 2023 model, but all the same. The UK market just doesn’t get any of these options. Mine is the highest spec for example, everything ticked, Vorsprung with Carbon Ceramic Brakes and delimited 188mph but still none of the mentioned extras. Surely if a chip shortage it would affect everyone worldwide, not just the UK? I’ve even looked at the latest LCI and whilst we now get the option of the red stitching, the other features are still not available to us. I love my RS3, but I’m moving back to BMW early next year.
That’s very surprising @pricey78 and disappointing on Audi’s part. Sounds like they need to do some better market research for UK customers and work out what people actually want!
looks lovely
Great review! I got my RS3 sedan last month. Compared to the 8V, the quality has definitely taken a hit. There's a lot more hard plastic in the interior, especially around the center console and rear compartment. Handling has definetely improved tho.
Thanks @littlesmin47 and congrats on the new ride! Thanks also for sharing your experience and agree, it’s a common problem these days to be honest. Most manufacturers seem to opt for plastic for the lower half of the interior to save on costs but I did find the quality of plastics in the RS3 to be quite good. The performance definitely makes up for it though 😏
I agree 8v was more premium the 8v with a stage1 tune and DSG tune would probably whip the new model great review 👍
Thanks @petergeorgiou5180, glad you enjoyed the review! And agree… the 8V is still a great car with a lot of potential!
Nice review. I wish USA get the hatch instead of the sedan only
The sedan is more expensive because it’s better
@@RS3jack how is it better?
@@andylam4350 a little lighter and much better looking
Thanks @andylam4350. It’s a shame that the USA doesn’t get to choose between the hatch and sedan. Hopefully Audi does something about that when they release the refresh next year 🤞🏽
@RS3jack, it’s actually the other way around… the sedan is 5kg heavier than the hatch which is still impressive given the sedan has a whole trunk that sticks out… no idea how they managed to get the weight to be only 5kgs more. I find the hatch to feel more nimble to be honest but each to their own… guess some people like hatches and some prefer the sedan. Either way, you’ll have a good time 😏
It's incredible how far Kia has come.
It is @theslicefactor4590, they’re definitely setting a new standard when it comes to main stream cars!

There is no adaptive cruise control, other than that a good review
Thanks @shanebaldacchino and appreciate the feedback. I did have another comment on the adaptive cruise but appreciate you calling that out. I’ll add a correction to the description 🙂
Great in depth review, but a few errors, there are more than 4 colours available, the other options you haven't listed all cost extra, and the i30n does not have adaptive cruise control
Thanks @freeskillerz656 and thanks also for calling out the lack of adaptive cruise control. I’m puzzled by the colours though because I always check the manufacturers website. I’m wondering whether they had removed the other colours from the configurator at the time I checked the build 🤔 Also, there weren’t any options on the configurator at the time so if there are any options you know of, please let me know what these are and I’ll include them in the description. I’m sure it’ll come handy for anyone that wants to pick up a used i30 N 😊

Thank you very much for this review. Yesterday bought one, didn’t get it yet.

My M40i is white/magma. I've had it for 2 years and still get a buzz every time I drive it !
Glad to hear you’re enjoying the Z4 @PeteSQ. I can’t say I’m surprised though… what a brilliant car! And great colour combo too... you can’t go wrong with a white Z4 and magma interior!
Trading in my 2020 M40i on a M40i manual for next spring. Live in Canada so don't drive over winter! Looking forward to rowing those gears! Love the car. Steering a little dead on centre only drawback. New one suppose to be better! We'll see!!
Nice, you’ll definitely enjoy it @suemcmenomy9567. The Z4 I reviewed was new and the steering was fantastic… I found it to be very responsive with great feedback and I didn’t feel any vagueness off centre. Let me know what you think though when you get the new Z4 😊
Fwd based, not a real bmw
Haha I hear what you’re saying @E9X330 and like I said in my video, if you prefer a rear wheel biased BMW (or any car that’s real wheel drive really) this might not be for you. But it’s still a load of fun to drive and great levels of grip for a front wheel biased setup
Wow, how long did it take you to come up with that pearl of wisdom?
Hi @simonhancock518, I’m not entirely sure which pearl you’re referring to but I’m just going by what the critics seem to say about this one. I personally really enjoyed driving the M235i… great little car! 😏
@TheWordOnCars I think I replied you in error. I meant the tragicically unoriginal reply from E9X330
Haha no problem @simonhancock518, each to their own at the end of the day and E9X330 isn’t alone when it comes to that thinking which I completely understand. Just a shame though that the M fans use the same yardstick on cars like the M235i…it’s not a traditional M car but, like I said, still a great car… I really enjoyed it! 😃
Pocket rocket? It weighs 1645kg bro.
@Tommy-BB she’s definitely not light mate but I was referring to the fact that it’s small, nimble and quick with that comment
Big pocket
😂
Thank you
Great review. I had an i8 before the Z4 and also wanted something smaller to be more flexible on our frequent road trips to Italian part of Switzerland and Italy with the sometimes very narrow roads. What surprises me: - The driving experience is almost identical, very good grip on the road (M suspension) and still comfortable on long trips. - The engine of the 20i is surprisingly powerful - The actual fuel consumption is also almost identical (20i) at around 7L - The attention the Z4 generates is only slightly less than with the i8, especially with the Frozen Gray color. I would not have expected that. All in all, it's a lot of fun, especially here on the winding roads of the Black Forest.
@tomhanhart5921 thanks, glad you enjoyed the review and appreciate you taking the time to comment! Couldn’t agree more… I really wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it is so I was pleasantly surprised by the Z4. It’s definitely one of the best sports cars I’ve been behind the wheel of!
🎉very well explained!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! 😊
I feel like buying the car after listening to you
Thank you, really appreciate it 😊
Dude! You’re way to far away from the steering to drive safely
@philosophactory haha you reckon? I always set myself up with my wrist up on the steering wheel. So maybe it’s the camera angle? 🤔
Dogshit car, buy a Toyota
Bought the shadow grey a few weeks ago and it’s a stunning car. The power is brilliant and it corners like it’s on rails. Will have many years of enjoying this car.
Congrats on the new car @swannie4762! No doubt… it’s near impossible to get bored of that little hot hatch and glad to hear you’re enjoying it!
Had a 2022 Z4 M40i in all black on Misano Blue.... Loved it so much I traded it in and am awaiting the build/delivery of my NEW 2025 Z4 M40i 6 speed manual (Cuz I LOVE standard) to be built in Skyscraper Silver (With Full mat clear PPF wrap to get mat but save some bucks AND get protection), the Anthracite Silver top and Cognac seats and door cards... counting down the days...Can't wait
@jspera4187 can’t blame you for upgrading into another Z4… out of all the cars I’ve driven (and reviewed), the Z4 is the one I have a soft spot for… absolutely loved it! By the way, good thinking on the matt PPF… I reckon it’ll look pretty close to Frozen Grey (and protects the car too)! Enjoy the new ride and don’t forget to run it in for the first 1000kms/600miles before you go too crazy with it 😉
@@TheWordOnCars yep, a little lighter than the frozen grey but quite a bit cheaper LoL. And, yes on the break in. I've always found it easier to break in an engine with a standard. So much easier to vary the RPM
14:18 Automatic's are for women & the elderly.
@CrashLarue, bold statement. I love a manual car as much as the next petrol head but I’d def get the Z4 with an automatic. Makes it much better to drive as a daily but a great gear box when you want to take it out and have some fun!
@@TheWordOnCars not to mention, the manual is the ultimate theft deterrent device.
@CrashLarue, that’s definitely true… especially in this day and age! 😂
I am now 61 and have probably made a few hundred thousand manual shifts in my life. So I've actually worked hard to earn my automatic 😅
@tomhanhart5921 I reckon you definitely have 😂
Looks great in the red (never seen that colour on the roads though)
It does @nkau7788, I hadn’t seen one on the roads either in this colour until I picked this one up. I reckon it’s the best colour for the i30 N… it looks even better in person!
"Paying homage to the Boss 429" You've certainly done the legend justice, Nish ...Your beast is the epitome of a truly brutal modern muscle car and a credit to you. Super informative. Thoroughly enjoyed the insights you shared. Excellent presentation. You're a natural.
Thanks for the kind words Shane, really appreciate it! And it was great to meet you today… looking forward to seeing you and your Stang out and about!
I take delivery of a Z4 M40i in Frosted Metalic Gray II in two days. I've watched DOZENS of videos in the five months I've been waiting for delivery. Your video of this car was the absolute BEST video I've seen. Thank you and WELL DONE!
Congrats on the new car @clerincg! Bet you’re counting down the hours to get behind the wheel… you’re going to absolutely love it! And thank you, really appreciate the support and glad you enjoyed the video! Oh and remember to go easy on her for the first 1000kms/600miles… worst part about buying a new car but that’ll give all the mechanicals a good chance to wear in nicely 😊
@@TheWordOnCars Thanks for reminding me of the 600M break-in period. I actually have to drive interstate 650M right after delivery. What is your sdvice?
No problem @clerincg, I always recommend the wear in miles to be done with varying load levels rather than just highway miles where you sit at a constant level of RPM. So best to just drive it in conditions where you can stop/start and vary the engine speed. And that’ll also help wear in the transmission, differential, brakes and even suspension bushings. And it’s always best to stay away from the redline until you get through the first 600 miles. With the Z4, I’d go up to around 4000 occasionally (and gradually) through the wear in period. Hope this helps!
Thanks very much for your advice!
No worries, happy to help! Enjoy the new car! 😊
If the dealer deletes all the "safety" garbage off at no cost and gives me back the few grand extra im forced to pay for it then ill buy it
I think a lot of us miss the good ol days when you could get a car for the pure driving pleasure of it. And I’m sure the manufactures would love to make bare-bone sports cars but, unfortunately for them, regulation now mandates cars have all these safety systems. But be nice to think of a world where we could get our hands on an analog car for the track from the mainstream manufacturers without the extra weight (hint hint Kia)!
Not really 🤣 it’s honestly way better
As in iDrive 7.0 is way better? 🤔
Great Review. I picked up my Z4 M40i in Sanremo Green and Cognac seats two weeks ago. I love the car it drives really well and “yes” you get noticed. It’s a beautiful looking car.
Thanks @DunnIrs. Congrats on the purchase and what a fantastic colour combo! It surprises me that there aren’t many of these on the roads… like you said, great car and a head turner 😏
The system in the Z4 is iDrive 7, the current system is iDrive 8, 8.5 and 9 which have fixed this issue.
Thanks @notmaassa, even though the newer Z4s are still running iDrive 7.0, I’m just surprised they haven’t dropped an update to fix this issue for customers. It’s such a great little car so it’s a shame the instrument cluster lets it down a little.
peanuts is relative
Fair call @thatoditsele9192. Compared to other hot hatches out there, the i30 N is definitely well priced for the amount of fun you can have in it but I take your point onboard

The car is a sales disaster
It is but I read that Citroen purposely didn’t aggressively advertise the C5X in Australia. And having been in France recently, there’s quite a few of these on the road there which isn’t much of a surprise. Shame… it could’ve done well outside of France!
