New Tech Inventors
США
Добавлен 29 июл 2020
You will be following me, Ken Weller, through the startup of a new business called New Tech Inventors. The videos will include ideas for a product, design and engineering, product development, licensing and patents, prototypes, and product manufacturing. Everything including naming the product, naming the business, setting up a corporation or LLC, and creating a website will be included in the videos. The purpose is to provide viewers with an inside look at the creation of a new business in hopes of inspiring others to come up with ideas and make them a reality. I want these videos to be an example for others to follow in starting their own business. I will be using 3D design software, 3D printers, electronic equipment, electrical circuits, lasers, and more in the process of developing the product. You can expect to see trial and error, mistakes, as well as success during this process. I will reveal my first product, now patent pending, in the first few videos. Hope to see you there.
Let's Talk 3D Printing, My first video in 5 months from my 3D print farm.

I purchased a new RV and truck so my wife and I along with our two dogs could see parts of the US we have never had a chance to visit. The 3D Print Farm is still doing well, and my grandson is helping me with that so I can hit the road more often.

Hello, Really cool products. Just curious how sales are going for you? I just started designs my own products that have 3D printed components to sell online as well. Im still working out the advertizing side of things, I'm remaining optimistic.
Good for you, bro. Your videos are inspiring. It was exactly what I was looking for. Don't stop! Lord, please bless this man. Thank you Jesus!
Nice video, interesting to see your setup! Just be aware recommending people buy STLs with the intent to make and sell parts from them, that not all people or websites give the rights to resell the part just because you bought the STL file.
I wasn't wondering where you went. First time watcher. Love your setup. I'd never heard of Anet or Voxel before. Subscribing! I'd love to see what you're printing and how you fix them.
Thanks for your comment and I will try to show you both the various printers and parts that I print with them...Ken
What !?? Not a Bumboo Shill? That's at least refreshing
Sorry, no Bumboo yet. Thanks for your support...Ken
Thanks for the video! It was great hanging out with you. Yes you have to enjoy life! So keep on truckin! Cya Pal! Subbed!

Love your videos! Been into 3D printing for a few years now but I am finally starting an Etsy shop to see if any of my contraptions can actually sell. Keep up the great videos!
Good luck my friend, I wish you much success and hope your products sell well. Thanks for your support...Ken
Welcome back
Thanks my friend , good to be back...Ken
Awesome video
Thanks for the kind words my friend...Ken
This is indeed an inspiration to me - 34 yrs old, just bought my first printer (X1C) to learn how this all works. Appreciate your candor and openness to talk to us
Thanks for those kind words my friend. I hope you do well 3D printing and that I might in some way be helpful with these videos. Thanks for your support...Ken
Come to Europe and RV round France, Spain, Italy, Germany and Poland etc.. You'll love it. Best wishes.
Thanks, I wish I could RV across Europe, sounds like fun. Thanks for the comment and your support my friend...Ken
I am new and have a cr10s and design things like 3d battery boxes and print them. I have a newer printer that is core XY . I will see what you have to say. Have a great day!
I plan to do a video soon where I will show many different parts that I have designed and printed as well as finished products using my 3D printed parts. Thanks for the comment...Ken
@@NewTechInventors I print lithophanes and make stands for them. I also print fender covers for my car to cover rust spots. I think the next printer is a belt printer.
Now that is a farm to many are not being used.
I have the ability to designate specific printers to specific print jobs "parts", this way I don't have to change settings each time I print a different part. Thanks for the comment...Ken
Im 56 months out from my off ramp and just setting up a 3D print business. It helps that I design products and run 3D printers as part of my job at an engineering company. Im at 4 products and growing.
Love to hear it!
I wish you much success and know you will do well. There is so much opportunity out there for anyone willing to put forth some effort. Thanks for the comment and support...Ken
You really need to take a look at Bambu printers. You will be amazed. Cool farm!
You are the second person to mention that printer in these comments, so I guess I will look into it and try one out. Thanks for your support...Ken
welcome back
Glad to be back my friend...Ken
yes Sir, still watching your videos.

Coming up to retirement (two Months). It's quite an age in the UK! You are an inspiration and I love your channel, Thank you...
Good luck on your upcoming retirement. Remember to keep active and stay away from the couch and find something you enjoy doing. 3D printing has kept me busy for many years now and I still enjoy it...Ken

My 3d printer is kind of like my fiberlaser loosing it's fun part after printing thousands of labels. Made a birdhouse thou posted it on makerworld.
It's all about coming up with new ideas of things to print. After 5 years I still get satisfaction in printing something new. Thanks for the comment and support...Ken
Great to see you back.
Thanks, glad to hear from you ...Ken
Hi sir, i have a question, this MOD add more Z wobbling? because 1 KG +/- added to the axis. Thx! and greetings from chile.
Have had no problems using this holder...Ken
Do you dry your filament
NO just keep humidity low...Ken

Thanks for watching...Ken
Yeah ups is not designed as a backup power, but to support a safe shutdown of applications and systems before the power is cut off.
Thanks for the comment...Ken
Hi, what is it that you printed ? what are those parts ?
Those parts are for products I sell on my website. Thanks for your support...Ken
Have you ever tried a Bambu Labs P1P? Extremely fast and very reliable. Most times it’s a set a forget printer that’s ideal for a print farm. They also self level.
No I have not...Ken
Have you tried printing with nylon, trimmer line works good especially made in the USA. Really strong parts, and works really well outdoors. Nylon warps so its hard to get it stuck to the bed, use carbon fiber sheet scuff up with some aleene fabric glue. Print at 285, no need to go fast, lower layer height the better.
Have not tried that...Ken
How did you come to turn the hobby into a business?
Long story, see my videos...Ken
Idk man it seems like you would save a lot of time and therefore money by using current 3d printers On anets website they say the et4 pro prints at < or = 150mms a Bambu lab a1 or even the new creality and any cubic bed slingers would print more than twice as fast if you just compare the numbers (500-600 mms) And obviously you could increase the nozzle size on those printers to speed that up further
I would upgrade if I planed to grow the business, thanks for your support...Ken
dang i print 215 for elegoo pla+
do yo primarily use pla abs and petg have you tried asa? im just now dipping my toes into asa and its showing such amazing promise
Thanks for tje comment...Ken
Have you tried out some of Bambu labs printers i have seen allot of print farms love them for there speed i haven't gotten one yet i have all sovol SV04 IDEX and SoVol sv07 Plus then Elegoo Neptune 4 Max because everything i print needs the 300mm + size build plates
No I have not...Ken
Thank you for all your help and advice! was almost giving up on fdm printing and going fully into resin but now will re try the fdm and run both! Its great to watch your channel!
I tried the .6mm nozzle with Cura's dynamic variable line width feature. I'll never go back to a .4mm. Strong, faster, higher tolerance prints IMHO.
Thanks for the comment...Ken
My standard PLA print temperature for a 0.4 nozzle is 220 and silk PLA is 225 to 230.
I got better detail and less stringing going lower but at the cost of layer adheason and strength of the part. With the direct extruder of the A1 I don't really have to chose anymore.
Thanks for the comment...Ken
Hi ken, when did you get into CAD? Have you been tempted to flash some of your printers to Klipper and install stronger extruders and high flow hotends, in order to print faster? I recently bought a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon and AMS and it is a game changer, the speed and quality is outrageous, I had my Pro 3D V-King 400 that I built from self sourced very best quality parts, that prints relatively fast using RepRap FW, but nowhere near as fast as the X1 Carbon when in Ludirous mode. I print my outdoor parts from ASA, it is claimed that this is the best filament for outdoor parts
Thanks for the comment my friend, sorry for a late response...Ken
Interesting, can't wait for that new video.
Thanks for your support...Ken
PLA is way high at 220, I run wonderful prints at 195
I have also printed good parts with PLA at 195-200, however when I am printing with a .6 or .8mm nozzle and at higher speed settings I am pushing more than double the amount of filament through the hot end and need the higher temps to insure good flow and good adhesion between layers. Thanks for the comment and your support...Ken
@@NewTechInventors I guess the extruder type, humidity, enclosure or non enclosure all makes a difference to these settings. Ever since I made an enclosure the prints have improved and less power required for each print. Also I found less warping prints on bed.
I really enjoys this. Thank you
Thanks,,,Ken
Printers printing pla don't use the heatbed
Not sure what you're saying, but I always use the heat bed for two reasons, (1) it helps me get better adhesion and (2) when the print is finished the parts just fall off the build plate. Thanks for the comment and your support...Ken
Hi! I saw myself two years ago with my Ender3. Clog and clog every day. Two changes I made: bimetal heatbreak and raise the temperature to get better flow with some filament types. Before bimetal heatbreak i also trimmed down the first 2-3mm off of the ptfe tube but if you losen the coupler on top of the heatsink only one thread, and push down the ptfe and after it touches the nozzle try to screw down the coupler gets the tube firm fit. Another solution is "cold pull": when print finishes and the nozzle temp falls to 70-80C, you pull the filament out, it will coming out in whole... the end will formed the inside of nozzle. No clog. For the better bed adhesion I use hairspray.
Sorry for late response, thanks for watching...Ken
Nice video! Was just randomly suggested it by the youtube algorithm, but very helpful and enjoyable.
Thanks for watching.
I saw your video and I am going to go buy 5x 3d printers this weekend. Can you tell me how do I get the work now?
Good luck my friend...Ken
Hypothetically speaking if you could print a single job 75% faster using as different printer would you consider replacing printers to reduce the heat footprint?
What model would you suggest. I bought anet e4 because of this channel
Good question my friend. I would consider that if I could get 75% more efficiency without sacrificing quality. I have many parts that I can print with .6 or .8mm nozzles and with some slicer adjustments I more than double the output of my printers compared to the standard settings and .4mm nozzle. As long as the printers I now have can keep up with demand I will not change them out. Thanks for the question and your support...Ken
@@randymatthews5263 I didn't have a model in mind per-se. I was looking at the A8 on their website after the video and saw the the max speed of 120mm/s. I see he is printing objects that are flat and right angled objects. Seems like a good fit for high acceleration and speed printer. Though I see he responded in this thread also and he is printing with .6 or .8mm nozzles so I'm not sure if it would make a difference, though can't speak authoritative as I don't print with those size nozzles. It just got me thinking about his overall heat footprint. If you could do more with less maybe that would be the way to go.
I'm disabled after having 5 spine surgeries. I love 3D printing and have learned how to repair and replace parts on my Bambu's pretty well. So, since I could really use the income, I'm thinking about starting a printing business. Both for my own parts and printing parts orders like you are here. Of course, I'll be starting with fewer printers. I have 3 P1S and 3 A1 Minis. I tell you what, the Minis blow me away! Of course the have smaller beds but you can really crank them up and I've had no issues with the printer breaking down on me. I know you're busy, but would you be willing just to talk for a few minutes sir? I'd try to even pay you since your time is valuable. I had a detailing business for 15 years (guess why my spines shot out? LOL.) and don't care to share my cell number on here. 7066339149 I can also text that way you can reply when YOU are able to. I'm just really impressed by your setup and success. I hope to hear from you soon sir! Justin
Hey Ken... can you share how to establish price-to-customer for parts?
Will try to bet in an upcoming video...Ken
Hi Ken. It is great to see you again. Hope all is well with you and the family. Thank you for the update and very informative info. I appreciate you.
