Airfield Management!

it was a great option for me joining after college and frankly the best decision i couldve ever made!

Actually someone in my dorm was trans/non binary (i can’t remember which) but they also didn’t have the paperwork to be with the males, and to my knowledge they were never singled out and were an amazing part of our dorm! Everyone kinda has their groups in BMT Dorms and its super easy to find people with your same interests! All in all as long as you don’t go out of your way to create drama or get involved in the drama you’ll be good and you’ll find your people to that will stick up for you. I was kinda a group hopper I hung around with many different groups! I hope that all made sense 😅

I mean you don’t get to keep them we use it in place of the BMTSG the giant ass book, we just do everything electronically including the EOC

yes its in the works! its been recorded and ive been editing it as i have the chance to. im currently working midnights so Ive been sleeping through the day so on my days off im editing it its a slower process then what i would like but it should be soon!

The book I mentioned! any asvab book you get wether it’s the one I mentioned or asvab for dummies will walk you through the different math concepts you could see, trust me I’m not good at math and I learned a lot from these books and it retaught me concepts I haven’t used since I was a freshman in hs about 8-9 years ago, and any asvab practice test will give you common math problems/concepts you could see so you can use those to practice concepts from the book or whatever resource, the book does also come with free practice tests. But in the end I believe I scored an 80 something in the math portion with an overall score of 84 (I could’ve probably got a high 80 but I suck at mechanical concepts)

I did a practice test for the airforce back in February and I scored a 25 passing score has to be 40 and above so I’ve been trying to find the easiest way for me to understand the math part. The math is my weakness

Did you see the same questions on this book on the asvab or similar questions but written differently? I’m like hella stressing out and getting overwhelmed

@@deontuigamala you won’t see the same questions but you’ll see a lot of the concepts so for example fractions they’ll teach you in the book every concept of fractions multiply divide add subtract and if you focus on understanding the concepts you’ll do great!

If you get the news ones, I was in the oldest building so not so nice, severe bug problem and a lot of mold

It’s been one of the most rewarding things I could’ve done in my life. Actually there was a girl in my basic with toddler twins and another girl with young kids so it’s not easy but especially going into tech you’ll have contact with them which will help a lot!

@@heyimreck Yeah! While I am at my 1 weekend drill, I get to know like 3-4 women’s that get through this process of leaving their kids. They encourage me and motivates me because if they do it, I can do it too. In fact, something that my mom always tells me to keep up is “your son is going to grow up and by the years he is not going to remember anything about this” so… trying my best to fight with all my emotions, because no matter how many advices you get, being separated from your child is never going to be easy, but everything has a purpose so, going for it

@@haydeemarmorales nope nothing can prepare you for that separation, but in the long run it’s to better both your lives! I don’t have kids so I don’t know how hard that is But I believe in you!

pre qualification meaning meps? or like sitting in the recruiters office doing paper work for the first time?

@@Wsportys waiting for the recuriter to contact you can take some time, but if you havent heard in like a month or two id send them another email or call. the pre qualification wasnt too bad alot better than what i was expecting it was a lot of paperwork and even meps wasnt bad it was just a super long day

I was the first I think I can’t exactly remember but I’m pretty sure I was first at least for my side I was the first in all together but for my group

So first I’m very sorry for your loss, and while you’ll hear oh that’s not an excuse, something like is a perfectly good excuse to loose yourself, I’ve been there when my aunt passed from cancer I was severely depressed for years and I lost myself for awhile ontop of a not so good home life so it’s okay that you lost yourself. Now personally from my experience at my first duty station not everyone is going to be dedicated to waking up in the morning but my leadership and NCOs are great they are very encouraging when we do PT in fact I heavily struggle with running and the last time we ran I fell behind everyone and a master sergeant in my shop stopped and ran with me and talked me through it so that’s a good example of never leaving an airman behind. Now can I promise every nco is going to be like that? No I can’t but you’ll always be surrounded with like minded people in your job and another struggle for me and it’s always been like that in my life is making friends, but this does become your family and eventually there comes a point where you get close to people. This has been one of the best things I could’ve done with my life and I still struggle in some aspects but I’m getting there and I do highly recommend. Now sometimes you might not get good leadership or a good base but every situation is what you make if it and sometimes that’s how you make the closest friends

Also going off of goals yes you talk about goals all the time sometimes too much, but my ncos really have been motivating like a goal for me is I’m trying to make BTZ and my supervisor is helping me accomplish that

Honestly not too sure, it depends on what they do at Meps cause they don’t always tape at Meps so I don’t know the answer to your question, if you got threw the first time I would assume you’re fine but idk

I believe I got to make about 5 but I know normally it’s less then that but it depends on your MTIs we got more due to all the holidays I miss thanksgiving Christmas and new years and we were able to make a call on/for every holiday there are scheduled week calls without holidays as well I believe it’s your initial call, 2nd week, 5th week and then 7th week for graduation stuff but again it all depends

You also get the chance to earn phone calls and my flight did actually earn one so it may have been more then 5 looking back

@@Shu1vx so he will probably get a call this coming week as his initial call, and I’m not going to lie it will probably be hard because there’s a potential that it could be a scripted call just giving basic information, I was lucky that I got to make a call 2 days after I got there because of thanksgiving so it was a special circumstance. But once you get their address write to them everyday if you’re able I know that got me through a lot at basic and it helps you too

Yeah definitely don’t stress yourself out about it it’s no big deal! Honestly the worst part about it is living with 40-50 other girls cause you will not get along with everyone and some people have really strong personalities that you will butt heads with I honestly think that was the hardest part for me personally

So I don’t know the specifics of all requirements for your age group I was in the under 25 group, but I know the minimum time I could run (meaning minimum points) was 18:56 or something close to that. What I’m going to say is don’t freak about it too much my very first run In BMT was 21 minutes which isn’t good it’s not passing but by the time I had to take the final test I got 15:39 so they do help you get to where you need to be but you also need to put in the work, go to remedial PT put in your all on cardio days and so on but you should be completely fine if I can find the actual requirements I will re reply to your comment

Your minimum time is 19:43 your max time is 10:37 so if you’re already running about your minimum you could easily drop that 2-4 minutes just by doing PT in BMT

@@ADROBATK yeah of course! I was super worried about PT when I went in cause I literally loathe working out which is kinda a problem lol but I got there and ended up maxing out push-ups along the way

@@heyimreck ohh heck yea! Then I’m not worried that much anymore. My worst thing I feel like right now is cardio, but if they help us then I’m really relieved now. Ohh! And another question! How is the Airmans run?! Do you have to keep up with everyone and do it all within like 10 minutes or something? What if you can’t keep up with everyone and like pass out or something?! 😂

PT wasn’t that bad honestly you do it everyday and they get you there as long as you out in effort my first 1.5 mile time was 21 minutes the final test I ran 15:30

Hi! Do you have to be able to do sit ups without someone holding your feet?

@@shaitiamays2043 nope! You’ll always have someone holding your feet, they’ll tell you to do 1 by 3s (you’ll learn what that is) but you can do that by yourself or with someone but that’s not tested that’s more of an on your own thing

Yeah I heard our food was better and it wasn’t horrible however we had a lot of roaches at 324 that would end up in our food. And you’re also right about laundry getting away with a lot we definitely did 😂
