Girl I was exactly where you are now. I'm sorry for your loss.my mom died in January 2022 of COVID and my dad and siblings changed the day so I couldn't go so I know how hard it is to not have any one to vent too/ talk too. I don't know if this will help you but it really helped me, I started painting I never painted in my life but I painted everything flowers dogs cats birds houses trees whatever I saw outside I painted it. That helped me come to terms with she isn't coming back.

Grief is hard hard work! You are grieving a significant loss in your life. In our society death is swept under the carpet when it happens to other only when we experience it and the full impact of its effects does it become real. Everything you are saying is so familiar to those who experience loss of a loved one. I think you are courageous for being openly vulnerable. People hurting from a loss in their lives will benefit from your video. Please keep on grieving don’t bury it. Your children will not be harmed from seeing you cry. I never saw you before I saw your house tour and I was curious because I had never been in a project. But I’m gonna tell you you have set up a beautiful home for you and your children. I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting something different. do your thing and forget these ridiculous people lay out there and they will pay one day. God don’t like ugly. I can’t stand when people come into your place and they look surprised that it isn’t nasty. I live in a highrise I’m a senior. Granted there are some of us in here that aren’t the cleanest. But,It’s funny the looks you get when someone from management or maintenance comes into your apt. I laugh everytime and just shake my head.

Hey Meek, my name is Jo (Joanna). I'm also a talker so I'm gonna apologize ahead of time if this message becomes an essay (lol). I have so much to say; I'm not sure where to begin. But, here we go. I messaged you a while ago. I believe it was the first video I heard you talking about missing your mom (I think you were in your car). I mentioned that I also lost my mom. I don't want you feeling bad or apologizing for feeling how you feeling, and expressing it. Girl, I lost my mom when I was 15 and I'm 46..., & I still have moments like that. Don't apologize for your emotions. It's okay to have days when you feeling down. But, like my pastor says, it's okay to go through stuff. That is why is called "going through it". Meaning, continue going through it (don't stop) (don't stay there) but come out on the other side. It's funny because (at school) we were discussing the five stages of grief. Have you heard of them? 'It's; denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance . And for some (like you & I) it takes a little longer. It may be because we're single moms. As single moms, we put our needs last to make sure every thing and everyone is taken care of first. Once that To Do list is complete, there's a fresh one coming up right behind it. And so on, & so on. So, we continue taking the back seat until one day it just comes out. Then you end up in closet talking to me (lol). It's normal babe. Go through your moment, get the poop off your chest. Tomorrow is another day. A new day to start fresh & reset. Now, I can't tell what to do, but believe it's okay to show (or tell) your kids how you feel. You know why? Because it's normal and everyone goes through it. Listen Meek, like I said I had a rough start too. My dad wasn't the best, he never knew his dad, his mom has tough because she had to be (she was raising my dad and 13 other kids). So yeah, imagen that. So, he was running the streets and picking up every bad habit you could imagen. By the time he got w/my mom (& had us) he starting getting high on his own supply (I'm assuming) trying to escape those generational curses. Long story short (trust me, this is the short version) he contracted H.I.V. Passed it to my mother. It hit my mother worse because of her depression. & when you have illnesses that involve the immune system any little thing amplifies the virus. So, that is why she passed first. She died May 1995. And exactly a year later, my dad died. I say all of that to say, I know how family can be in those types of situations. I remember coming home from my father funeral over hearing a conversation among ALL my dads brothers and sister, including my moms sister and two brothers. I would describe it as a f***** up game of hot potato. Because everyone was looking stress out, explaining to each other (making excuses back & forth) why they couldn't take care of my brothers and I. Like I said b4, I was 15, my middle brother was 13 and my baby brother was 12. At that point, I lost any connection I had to them. I felt like the only thing connecting us was my parents. And I found it messed up that no body wanted us. So, my attitude from then on was, screw you. You don't want any parts w/ us. We don't want any parts w/you either. Because even @ 15, I knew I didn't want people like that around me any old way. The only one that stepped up to the plate, was my mom's mom. And till this day, I thank God for her. She died two years ago. She was a God fearing Christian, (and forgive me for being so bold) but she was the only one who had the balls to take the challenge. And just like you, I don't go to church everyday (& do what I know I should be doing). But I believe in God. I know He placed her in our lives for that reason. God only knows where we would've ended up at. I decided to quit school to work full-time. I got my GED. Had my son when I was 21. I raised him with his dad's help (separately). And now that my son is grown, I decided to go back to school. Both my brothers joined the Army straight out of High School. And they both just retired from the military. My middle brother did about 24yrs and my baby brother did 22yrs. I'm telling you all of this so you could understand that you are not alone in your struggle. I'm so sorry for this huge message. But, I just want you to know that God loves you. And if you do a simple search in your bible you will find out why God made us. He made us for fellowship. That is why so many of us have that longing, Like we missing something. Like we want something. A desire. God placed that need in us, so we' can seek Him out. He is the only one that is able to fill that emptiness'. That void. Everyone has it. Some try to fill it with sex. Some try money & material things. Others try drugs &/alcohol. And many jump from relationship to relationship. But we're both wise enough to know that's not the answer. No worries Meek. They are several of us on the same journey. Just remember to keep going. Don't stop. Don't give up. Continue going through it. I'll see you at the other side. Love ya. Keep your head up. Place your trust in God and God alone. He's the only one that doesn't change and will never let you down. You're a beautiful person inside & out. Your kids are blessed to have a mother like you. Thank you for sharing yourself w/us. I appreciate it.

I saw in another comment that grief has no time limit - that is so true. I lost my mother nearly 30 years ago as a child and I am still going through layers of grief. Sometimes "figuring things out" means letting the emotions flow through you. You are in my prayers and I pray that Jesus wraps you in the love it is you need to feel. We're here to listen <3

I’m so sorry Meek. Losing a parent is one of the hardest things to go through in life. When I lost my Dad, I was literally in physical pain for days. Just know that your mother watches over you and your children and that you’ll be together again some day. See if theres a therapy group that that you can become apart of in your area. My heart hurts for you. Find a church.. go and get involved in a bible study group. Ive never been depressed but i did go through chemo an radiation an surjury. Thats the downest ive ever been in my life. When you start feeling like that tell satan to get out of your life. I like listening to you. Hope i made some kind of sence. God bless❤

I miss my mama and daddy every day and now my sweet brother who we lost this year. I miss them all so much. I still find myself wanting to pick up that phone and call them. 😢😢. I ran across a picture yesterday of my mama when she was sick in the hospital and it made my heart hurt. It’s ok to vent and let it out!❤. Just remember God loves you and will always be there for you!

Oh girl, I understand and said a prayer for you. A few of my friends started becoming very distant after my father died, some people can't handle being around a grieving person or they feel awkward. Or, they don't realize that the person still needs support. I felt completely alone when my dad died- but I had God. 10 years after, I found a half brother I never knew about and he's in my life now and God gave me my only child at the age of 42- a boy I named after my father. God will restore everything the locusts have eaten. Trust Him. ❤
