First start with FIThech
Просмотров 1222 года назад
The first start 260Z with FITech on a 6.0 twin turbo. Stage 3 summit turbo cam, idle at 700rpm. After setting the idle and letting it run for 10 minutes it seems good. I’m impressed with FITech. There still some tuning for boost. Its recommended to drive it 2 hours for self tuning. It will be some time before that.

1917 15 HP Fairbanks Morris type Y I just picked up. The engine was seized but with some time was able to get it loose. It is the most complete Y I have. Missing is the torch and muffler. It started on the first try and runs well.

Last drive with Dad

This is the last drive before the car was sold. This car my father owned from 1985 and has seen many changes. My father has a current NHRA license at 75 years old. I got my license last year at 52. We both shared the driving through out the years at different tracks starting at Sears Point in the 80s, Firebird in Idaho in the late 90s till last year. This is a fun car to drive to the track 45 m...

Lookin good Mr. L
Not hot enough and flooded. If you get it hot enough and give it 2 shots of fuel it'll take off by hand rolling it hard towards the head and let it go!
Thanks that’s an old video. I have got it down pretty good on the start up now. I own another one now that is a 15 hp they start very easily
Good luck starting that out in the field
I’ve got it down and it starts right up by hand. Thanks
K lo
looking back, first time seeing one started on coal
magic sound
Get that thing out of the shop already. That device has wasted a full day’s worth of jerking off, in less than ten minutes.
Start it once Let it run for ever.
Why post such a crappy video ?
Nothing more annoying than wife in background
I think I understand now where Men Cussing their Machines started.. "Come on you worthless SOB START"!!!!...WWG1WGA
Is thermosyphon ok on these?
Yes it works fine. I can run it all day. It never gets too hot
He needs some practice lol
Glad to see it get running clockwise so it can throw the oil properly to lube the rod and main bearings.

This knucklehead gonna get killed...
And he was trying to start it the opposite direction..engine had other plans..
Cool. Can i stick my arm in the spokes?
😊 OSHA purist must be grabbing their chests. These monuments to Darwin awards. If you’re dumb enough to do stupid things around them, you deserve what you get. My dad had a 5HP FM engine. He got it when I was about 12 years old. He told me to be careful around it. It didn’t take much of a genius to figure how much pain it could inflict if you weren’t careful around it.
Sure. Once
Thank you it runs 120 mph in the 1/4 I thinks it’s about 425 hp.
One of the most timeless designs every produced. With a few mild tweaks this car could have been introduced today and still look modern. 22 pounds boost was about all I heard once you stared it up, so about 250hp I would guess? Beautiful ride, thanks for sharing!
Built 4t65hd?
It’s a 1988 T440 or other name 4T60 none computer trans with 3.43 final drive ratio. Thanks for the inquiry.
@@myturbogt6 nice! This my exact goal for mine, what tires did you use? I have an L26 top swap.
@@raz_nick4048 good year G force
What's your fiero up to nowadays?
Raz_ Nick it’s in storage for the last 2 years I’m in the middle of a remodel and I started another 260z project with twin turbos 4 years ago just no time for the Fiero right now.
Great start ! Now If we can figure out how to boost it's hp's up to about 2,000 and mount it on the rear of a motorcycle frame....
I'm in, but you kick start it
That guys name must be John.
Awesome Video!🎥
Amazing what they accomplished with the tools of the day. I remember when the notion of two-stroke diesel was “new and innovative”. This one looks like it might have been a wide-belt driver for a sawmill or other production.
Please contact me in regards to this car , own it now , thanks
I see this Fairbank can also do that running with zero revolutions !!, all big single cylinder 2 strokes can do that i think. Buldog lance tractors does the same :-))
Hit miss motors are so good to watch but smokes a lot
This is not a hit and miss it's a 2 stroke diesel
Why does it seam like it fires every stroke
2stroke engine
What I meant was it’s a hit and miss...
@@anythingthatmoves9609 not a hit and miss it's a 2 stroke diesel. It's suppose to fire every stroke
Cool a propane diesel engine.
Anything that moves Channel if it fires every stroke it’s a 2stroke engine not hit and miss
They ere good
Fun thing to do with these is get a good good audio recording if it and lay it over itself 4-12 times with a small delay in between it layer of audio. Literally sounds like a common modern engine!
Beautiful old Fairbanks !! 😁 They just make me smile!
Titta
It was great, at the time ,
Did you get a larger air line yet?

Way to go

LOL, sure pull it through. Good luck with that one.
THATS A AMAZING VIDEO,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
THATS A GREAT VIDEO THANKS FORD SHARING ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
ticks over great! i am by no means an expert, but i believe your issue with the air start is that you're giving it air for too long a duration. i think you want to shut off air before the piston uncovers the exhaust port. that way the inertia from the spinning flywheels doesn't have to overcome compression AND the extra air that you're giving it with the compressor. good luck!
Looked to be starting it backwards to me
@@CosgroveNotts I'm an expert too! hate them more by the day.
i have one of these and they are very light so i will guess you have very low 0-60 times
Way too cool!

staged at 5 pounds of boost and 11 pounds of boost for the run .
This has got to be one of the nicest z's i've ever seen before. What all did you have to modify or fabricate for it to work properly? how difficuly is it to do thid?
what type engine block and crank, rods, pistons, oil pump? who built the transmission? rearend gear?
Very cool. I have a Porsche with buick GN motor. Drop me a note or email me.
