The Tale of Google Stadia: Google's Failed Cloud Gaming Revolution
Google Stadia remains an interesting case of a major project from a massive company managing to go completely wrong. Despite conditions improving over time, the problems that continued to persist regarding connection, latency, and pricing, failed to redeem the platforms disastrous reputation. Today, we're going to take a look at the history of Google Stadia, how bad things were, and if such a service even had a chance of succeeding.
Coincidentally due to other circumstances, this video has now come out just after Stadia has shut down for good. Nothing much to really add here other than Google offering a firmware update to Stadia controllers allowing them to enable Bluetooth connections.

The History of Stellar Dawn / Mechscape - Jagex's Abandoned Space Runescape MMO
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.2 года назад
A game that once represented the next step of success for Jagex, now only remembered as an abandoned failure that never saw the light of day. Often recognized as Old School Runescape in space with a different path of progression less focused on skills, and more on pvp and competition, how did a game from such a well known company with years of development and the experience of developing Runesc...
Space Station 13 - History of the Space Clown Simulator (2003 - 2022)

Space Station 13 has produced a countless number of crazy stories over the years, but where did the game come from, and what has happened to it over the years? Somewhat difficult to find the history on this one. Wiki pages and other collections of history aren't always kept up to date or seemed to be lacking details on certain events. Find one crazy event in the game's history, and you're likel...

The Inscryption Story ARG: Mystery of the Old Data
Просмотров 86 тыс.2 года назад
Spoilers ahead for anyone that hasn't played the game. Unknown to many, there's more to Inscryption's story than some may think. Figured I'd do my own recap now that Kaycee's mod is completed and the story has reached its end for now. If you're interested in even more to the story, I'd recommend checking out the other games made by Daniel Mullins and their ARGs. If you enjoyed the video, rememb...
The Record for Living in an Airport
Просмотров 2652 года назад
It's not uncommon to hear about airline delays and long waiting times, but who has spent the longest time waiting to leave? This one was originally meant to be just about cases of people living in airports, until while researching, I came to a realization: there are way too many cases of this happening to cover in one video. This lead to some changes with the script to focus on the longest case...

My autistic ass is definitely not meant for trying to decode things, so I'm glad there are people who know how to decode things. When it comes to things like this, I just get confused and don't know where to proceed from there, and to me I wasn't aware of like two of the boss battles that was shown in the video here, and never encountered them despite pretty much 100% in the game
Great video. Sseth my lord, god bless his autism.
Recommend trying ss14. It has been great for a new player with plenty of features, especially if you never played ss13. Already logged 200 hours. Very addicting.
hearing about MSO's shenanigans back then as he is now having a fit is just amazing
very This War of Mine vibes
Surprised Feweh's 30+ alt accounts weren't mentioned but i suppose that's more cross-server rather than on-server occurrences in hindsight. Feweh was against any kind of moderation on the ss13 subreddit while most of the others were actually interested in keeping unfounded slandering to a minimum. Feweh screeched out that Paradise was "ruined by furries" and "used to play all the time before fucking furries were allowed" but server logs showed he only logged in to paradise **once**. Others joined in and the Paradise hate campaign got so prevalent that others were telling the posters that it was getting old. This then prompted an investigation by the staff at Goonstation. What did they find? At least 26 of those hate accounts were all being operated by Feweh. Every single one. So one man spent nearly a year juggling like 30 accounts(that Goonstation could identify; they could not rule out the likely possibility that there were more). All for the sake of complaining about a server he never plays in all while being a community manager for an entire other server and trying to stifle cross-community moderation. Meanwhile Feweh's boss, Apophis was known for his skewed balancing on the Colonial marines server. If the marines team were doing too well, played unusually smart, or pulled some trick to get one over the xenos team like filling the escape area with girders. Apophis would do something to punish them, like making the escape time take longer. He was on record saying "I want the win ratio 20:80 marines to xenos.". Evidence of Apophis asking for mods for the Sims that removed the n#d#ty censorship on u#der#ge models surfaced around the same time Feweh's alt accounts were exposed. So after about 2 years of managing the Colonial Marines server since its inception they finally got run off the community.
Literally no one cares about paradise, goon is the top dog
@@NaoSei12345t i didn't write that paradise is as relevant nowadays. How did you interpret that from my comment and why did you make your comment???
@@johannhawk8471 No one want's to know about paradise
@@NaoSei12345t Why? Maybe i'm just out of the loop so answers are appreciated.
given this video ends at 2022 i figure an old rant i wrote still applies: ⬇rant replay start 6+ years ago lore got retconned to [alternate current year]+1 instead of [year 20XX], as a part of this rewrite pre-Cataclysm tech does not include all that much CBMs/bionics and CBMs are instead brought by slightly more advanced(but only in aggregate, they had to make stops in medieval dimensions) cyborg humans rift-surfing in from a different reality. more recently in the current stable build the CBMs are in an inbetween spot of being available in doctor's offices, specific cyborg enemies and from said rift-surfers. This transition slowly started in 2021. With the old versions having them be available from tech-zombies, labs and medical areas and the new version that's been planned for a long time being available from the rift-surfers and a new dungeon type. the development reason was so it's easier to judge if a given implementation is of a reasonable or realistic level like this snippet from the design document: Quote: "Prior to the change, cybernetics were required to make sense as something developed on an Earth with a similar technology level to ours, or we had to make CDDA Earth so different from ours that it loses a lot of the “real life zombie apocalypse” feel. Making them interdimensional removes a lot of restrictions on the design space of what “makes sense” for a cybernetic. For example, things like shotgun arms and knives for hands don’t make a ton of sense in the “real world” we’re trying to go for in DDA, but they’re totally something someone may have cooked up *somewhere*. This allows them to stay in." couldn't they split the cyberware/CBMs between "made domestically with __available__ tech, either commercial or military." and "made interdimensionally with __weird__ tech normal-earth doesn't have"? i think that'd be simpler to reach such a goal than making a wide reaching rewrite + eventually relocating all of the CBMs behind a new faction and dungeon type. off the top of my head the [alt-current year]+1 tech guidelines are: - [current year]+1, so if it exists IRL you don't need to argue that much for adding it tech-wise. - in this alternate timeline fissiles are way more common to the point betavoltaics are used in coffee machines. - AI algorithmns running on portal tech enable a modest proliferation of police/security robots - Rivtech corporation. Making caseless weapons, caseless ammo and things like an advanced alloy quarterstaves in case you wanted to add near-future niche tools. ⏸ rant replay end now i wonder if this has made anything actually easier for them on their end in the long run. i recall some quests having slow progress in being developed since the cyborg rift-surfers only had 1 guy(the author of the cyborgs) who can write their ?olde english? dialogue.

i remember when tgstation was actually /tg/ station and not coopted by ideologues taking advantage of people on the spectrum.
Such a wonderful game, shame it's ran by some crazy people nowadays.
Played well before sseth was a thing. Lol
I came from Unity Station. That community has died down, but it's also where I learned of SS14: the title I believe it worthy of being called SS13's successor.
Not sure if it helps, but in the first floor of magnifucus's tower, in the top left corner, if you walk past the books into the darkness, you can see a piece of the old data
I went there and had literally no idea what I was looking at lol
I love that there was a major debate over whether milk containers should be called carboys or gallon jugs lmfao - that's hilarious.
p-03 lives.
crazy to think that popularity can be bad for a game
I thought this shit was CDDA
So weird to recognize all the names in the Tg13 footage, man I miss the times I spent 7 days per week just chilling there, breaking welder fuel smoke, exploring the derelict and throwing black russian cocktails at the engineer in all the footage included
The lore
SS13 walked, so AmongUs could run
Inscryption is such a good game, I delved into my first ARG lore. Even through something so wild that someone can make this sound so monotone. Well documented and structured though. It’s just insane Allen from Smiling Friends can make this video.
been playing this game since 2013 :D
This game wont Die till the programing and the players live on

Nothing about Cataclysm Bright Nights split and the infighting after .G, Nothing about Kevin co-opting the entire project. Nothing about everyone and their mother hating the inventory system that was shoved down our throats.
I don't understand why the community likes to fight over dumb things like they're a bunch of 13 year olds.
@@NikoSarfo You also want to ignore Kevin threatening Bright Nights with legal action when threatened with the same for failing to properly attribute all contributors?
Kevin Granade is a massive asshole, that is all there is to it.
@@jeremyreese54 I mean what did i expect from someone that looks like the cousin of Gorlock The Destroyer.

Ponie island? Danny?
The Discripian Ark
In the second act we learn that the skull with the ice shard is infact Kaycee and when meeting her in the third act blocking a way Po3 has the dialogue "You want to pass? A little fire should do the trick" for her and then he laughs, which is all sorts of fd up knowing she actually died in a fire. It's also interesting that when you beat Skullstorm you get a decrypted Entry #11, which reads smth along the lines of "nobody will ever play this mod, but Id like to think that thousands of players love it, make artwork about it and comment on it. It makes me feel like my work mattered.. Well, I'm off to finish the squirrel fish challenge, maybe hit comics land later."
I started playing cataclysm dark days ahead for 6 years now all thanks to Sseth tzeentach and im currently trying to figure how to code so i could make a mod for the game plus i fucking love this game so much
The clown was a punishment "job" at first, thats why it has "clusmy" genetics and missfiring chance. But ss13 players where sickos and enjoyed it.
Im pretty sure the fact that cats would groom themselves and lick their paws would count as them drinking an ENTIRE MUG of whatever alcohol they previously stepped in. Funniest bug ever.
This video deserves way more views. Shame its only at 600 right now...
Open source makes everything better
Sseth introduced me to CDDA and I've been playing on and off for years now, and I've only just gotten into vehicle modding. I hope the development continues for years to come.
ive started playing 4 years ago and cannot go back, half my gaming time is on SS13 now mainly on TGstation
you know, come to think of it, I realize I really was a part of the Sseth Tide, even if I came in late. lol granted, I have done RP before and I saw the game as a roleplay focused game so I was able to get into it through Paradise station and have a REALLY good time. Interestingly enough one of my favorite servers was made six days before I first joined... and now it is closing in less than 3 days. o7 I gotta say, SS13 as a whole is such an... interesting case, honestly. It's start as student projects in college leading into a wide spread branching open source roleplay TTT/Werewolf/Deception game that is known by thousands and slowly gaining more attention. It's amazing to see and at this edge I am stood the end of an era for, well, not SS13 as a whole, but a server I devoted 6% of the last two years of my life to as well as my life itself. Times change and I am hoping to use the code from my favorite station whose Github is staying open (Yippie!) to hopefully make something myself for smaller groups of players that could be a fun option for lan SS13 gaming and what have you. I am happy I found SS13, this lil Niche is one I fit snuggly into.
i got into space station 2 weeks ago, randomly, met someone in a discord server then they they helped me to isntall and showed me some basics. i am in love with ss13 now :D
I really want to watch this gor what little i might learn, but the first 10-20 seconds let me know you weren't there yet
Thanks for the video
If you slow it down there's a weird girl that.pops up on the woman that shot Luke after he says I told you and it glitches
Here to share the sentiment that SS14 is going swimmingly!
I couldn't experience SS13 in its golden era But I am currently experiencing SS14 and it the rise of the community and new features. (from ss13 mostly)
Rip this channel.

ss14 is still going well :D
I had a beautiful interaction with a cyborg today where we sang Still Alive before they left to grab me supplies (I was science assistant)
My favorite bit of this game throught the arg and the game is when the entire house groans as leshy wakes up
I hope that SS14 will skyrockets SS13’s popularity. Im predicting that it will!
I actually one of the people that started playing SS14 at first, and then started playing a lot of SS13
I play ss14 recently, and I like the game even with the content it have right now! It have a pretty big chance to be the sequel! Wanna play ss13 though, only time will tell when.
