Turning Data into Art - LUMBER PRICES ON FIRE
Turning data into art. I took the bi-monthly lumber (LBS) price in the years 2019, 2020 and 2021 from the Nasdaq database and plotted it on a grid of scrap wood pine with padauk data points. The process looked a lot like creating a cutting board, yet the pine was particularly hard to work with as it is such a soft wood. In the end I am in love with the result.

Neglected Olive Wood Wall Art - Woodworking
Просмотров 6892 года назад
I found this large piece of olive wood from a tree that had been cut down over ten years ago and had been laying outside since. The rain caused funghi to enter and create spectacular patterns inside of the wood grain. I decided to pay a tribute to the beautiful landscapes this wood had to offer, and created a small piece of art to hang on the wall.
DIY Bamboo chair

I challenged myself to make a portable two piece camping chair using raw bamboo poles and macramé as a back rest. Although this project was rather simple in the amount of steps, processing the bamboo was a lot of work.
Making a Scrapwood Ocarina
Просмотров 43 тыс.3 года назад
First of all I want to thank Archijoe who already made a video making a wooden Ocarina, I wouldn't have been able to do it without his video. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/Qpxfxg0kqqo/видео.html I started making this ocarina without having ever owned or played one, I'm not sure it has the best sound but I think it turned out quite nice. Preferable I would have hollowed out the chamber wi...
Unique Patterned Tongue Drum Build (Creative Woodworking)
Просмотров 3,8 тыс.3 года назад
In this video I try out a lot of new techniques in order to create a unique patterned tongue drum inspired by my Lebanese heritage. I also did some woodcarving on the top which I painted in with golden acrylic. I used Maple, Padauk, Wenge and Cherry. Instagram: woodcatdesign
DIY Tongue drum, but it's an owl
Просмотров 2,7 тыс.3 года назад
In this video I make two tongue drums for two families to play together. I wanted them to look like an owl when they're pushed together, and wings when they are spread apart. Wood used: ash, padauk and oak. The oak is taken from an old table top that someone gave away for free. I made the tongues with a jig-saw and added details with a router and Dremel multitool. I made the ash into a herringb...

Building A Wooden Tongue Drum (Beginner Woodworking)
Просмотров 22 тыс.3 года назад
I've only recently started woodworking, and in the past month I've been making tongue drums. This is the first time I've filmed in my workshop, which you can see especially in the beginning of the video when I'm constantly blocking the view. Nevertheless I hope this video is useful to someone. Tongue drum tuner/length calculator by IKindaWannaLearn: scratch.mit.edu/projects/222700494/editor/
Super nice work there. Felicitations.
How do u know, where to place the holes?
I like this a lot, but I don't really get this calculator, can you perhaps make a video on how to go about designing?
This is really nice, from looks to sound 👌❤🔥🎶
hello nice job, what kind of wood have u used
Gotta ask - do you drill all holes the same size then just tweak them based on the pitch of each note? And how did you 'set' the pitch of the blowhole or do you just use whatever note it is and build from there? Great video, cool looking wood
Boring
This is the funniest comment.
@@WoodCatYou should’ve putted a family guy episode and a Minecraft parkour video on the side to satisfy this dudes adhd ass.
Ouuuuuu.... beautifull work 🖐️
Do you dell this Flute?:-) very nice Work...
I cannot get the wind way down and all the diy on RUclips barely shows the process in depth :(
Sound test?
You can hear the sound at the start of the video
You can hear the sound at the start of the video

Super !!
Are you selling it
Those interior miter splines we're insanely smart! I've never seen that been done before.
Super!!!
It looks good, but i did wait for you to play it...
You can hear me play it in the beginning
@@WoodCat 🤔 yep, but that sound was so weak that it don't give me any value
Ok, that’s why I’ve left other sources in the description. Ciao
@@WoodCat i have to check it out 👍
I love it.
우와 저거 갖고 싶어요~~!!
Awesome young Sir. Thankyou
Learn to use the depth stop on your pillar drill - every hole would then be the same depth, requiring a lot less clean-up work.
Wow Thanks I make this in the future😊
does it works???
where can i find the holes data?thank you
Yah that’s and idea I had as well. How would you know where the holes go to create in tune notes?
se ve genial, felicidades
very nice work. What app do you use for tuning purposes?
ahhhhh dus dat betekend het 😂i wonderd
ziet er heel cool uit! goed gedaan
Ciao!
you guys got a web site?
Not yet. What would you like to see?
@@WoodCat the tongue drums! And the wooden chairs
@@WoodCat tongue drums and the wooden chairs
I love your drum.
Nice work! I'm curious about the jig saw blade. How long and how wide? The very thin blades I can find look too short and to fragile. I guess with the big hole in the middle you don't really need to make any tight turns.
Good job mate. Can I ask, how exactly do you use that calculator that you liked to? I’m struggling to understand it. Is there a way to pick the tuning?
great peace but what I keep asking me with all your woodworkers is: where do you get that wood and how rich are you to even afford it?! (idk if its just my bad luck but I spend already a ton of money for pine wood, the cheapest here in germany -.-)
Yes it’s expensive but most of my wood I find on marktplaats (kind of like a Dutch Craigslist). Keep an eye out for when someone is getting rid of their stock.
Beautiful woodworking skills!!
This is beautiful.
Idk why this video doesn’t have more recognition but you did a great job on this build!!
Beautiful herringbone sir!! Could you please make a video walking through how you did that for dummies? You made it a ton easier than how I would have done it.
Thank you! It is not the most solid herringbone but for this purpose it is sturdy enough, although I think it is not too difficult to reenforce it. I will think about making a tutorial!
great work mate, out of curiosity why does everyone use forstner bits for tuning? Wouldnt you want to sand the wood off evenly somehow, maybe arched like a marimba bar?
I think sanding, if you have the right tools would be a very good option. On a recent drum of mine I used a Dremel to remove the wood more evenly, it works just the same.
Hey what exact wood did you use? Love the vid!
Hi! I used African Padauk, hard maple and cherry.
Amazing work dude, love the look of the macrame!
