Taller riders definitely have a harder time getting in position. But regardless of stature your knees need to hold contact otherwise you will lose stability with your body and bike. But typically for taller riders the knees will need to be a little more forward just to allow you to stay in good controlling proximity to the bike and with having a longer body you’ll be able to keep your body spread across front and back evenly even though your knees are a LITTLE more forward.

I meant to add to that. *it’s not necessarily about the knees having the contact. It’s just from ankle up your leg holding contact. If your knees are above the seat then you’re just focusing on keeping legs in contact with the bike.

That’s insane. I’ve traveled coast to coast racing for years and have never met someone with greased bearings from the factory.

Well technically it’s not from factory since the dealshership did it, but I was very surprised when I tore my bike down and all of them were greased

@@granttaylorvlogs gotcha, its insane that dealers dont do it when they get sent the bike with the front end disasembled, then charge dealer fees, the dealership i bought my first bike from in 2019 was a disaster and they lost out on 3 bike sales because of it

Yes that is totally normal! Just think about it, you are putting your body in a position it is not used to. It would be like a cheerleader learning to do the splits. It's likely the cheerleader couldn't do the splits at first but over time of practice and doing stretches, she was finally able to do it. Same applies to your hamstrings, if you can not get to the full correct position then get to the best position you can and over time of stretching you will notice that position will get easier.
