Exploring the Forgotten Islands Above and Below the Banda Sea aboard the Arenui
The Forgotten Islands in the Banda Sea, within the 'Ring of Fire', are all part of the heart of Indonesia's expansive island archipelago. It's the shimmering jewel of the world's oceans. The sapphire waters are cradled by volcanic islands steeped in history, and alive with some of the most vibrant marine life on Earth. Thinly populated with cultures reminiscent of days gone by. Diving into its watery depths is like plunging into another world; a kaleidoscope of color, of vibrant, lush, hard and soft corals. Strange sea life that astounds and inspires any imagination.
Here we are on the Arenui, a unique and traditional Indonesian style 'phinisi', “Boutique Liveaboard”, with five star food,...

The Tiger sharks in the waters of a small fishing island in the Maldives called Fuvahmulah have, over the last 15 years, become legendary among divers. It lies on the equator in the Indian Ocean approximately 465 miles south of the southern tip of India. These maj...
Diving the Best of the Maldives Central Atolls Indian Ocean

The Maldives, difficult to get to and mostly requiring live-aboard boat access, it is worthy of any serious divers effort. Deep in the heart of the Indian Ocean, it's an archipelago of over 50 Island atolls offering blue water diving, and year round wide-angle photography. While there is some small macro life there, the Maldives is mainly a "wide-angle" photography destination for coral, whale ...

Old Havana Cuba, la Habana vieja Cuba

Thanks to 'Cultural Cuba.com', we packed seven days of touring into three days and nights...wow! It was totally different than our expectations. We toured mostly old Havana with its fifties and sixties charm stuck in a time lock. We found the Cuban people very warm, gracious, resourceful, hard working and proud. The city itself was an interesting dichotomy of old architecture and ruble. We enjo...

As usual, some very nice shots, and very clever editing. The result is entertaining, and consistently enjoyable!. The only remaining question - how the heck do you get in the water with those things to film them??? I wouldn't!!! and I am very committed to my films, but there is a line I am not willing to cross! Sharks yes!, crocodiles, no!

    • @BlaneHenderson

Thank you AquaticRod! Your comments are always thoughtful, constructive, and appreciated. I know right; getting into the water with a large, wild, small brained lizard! My desire for 'the shot' overcame my common sense (is the only way I can explain it). Like any wild animal, there are different individual personalities within the species population habits and traits. This particular croc is known to be somewhat subdued, but it still took some lengthy observation, and planning on my part to get up the nerve...
