Teaching my wife how to change oil on her 2010 V6 Rav4
Просмотров 2 тыс.8 месяцев назад
Hi! This is a video I made on how to change the oil in a 2010 Toyota Rav4, 2GR-FE engines. (v6) WITH A TWIST. My Wife is the one doing all the work, I'm just telling her what to do and how to do it. We also have a real deadline! Credit the idea from Donut, however It was fun to use and to pretend to be like them. And yes she really did have 90 minutes to leave for work. If she had missed it she...

If you have any questions comment below and I'll get back to you asap. Enjoy!
DIY HANGING PLANT STAND (USING ROPE)
Просмотров 5452 года назад
I made this DIY hanging plant stand out of some left over rope and lumber I had lying around the basement. My wife has grown quite the green thumb over the past year and plants are taking over the house! This was my solution to amalgamate them into one area. Enjoy!
The Ryobi Electric One + HP 16 inch Lawnmower Review - Is it worth buying?
Просмотров 38 тыс.3 года назад
In this video I show you my new Ryobi one plus mower. It's powered by their One HP battery system. The same one their tools use. I bought this even though it has terrible reviews on battery life. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it worked. I figured I'd share my honest opinion/review of it so you can get all the necessary information before purchasing one. Enjoy
RIDGID 7 inch angle grinder review/unboxing (3 Position Handle)
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.3 года назад
In this video I'm doing an unboxing and first use of the RIDGID 7 inch angle grinder with the 3 position handle. I picked it up to carve a sink out of a rock in the near future, but ended up needing to cut some tile to finish off my front entry way. It's quite the powerful tool. I haven't put it through it's paces yet, but if you want to see how it does during 4 hours straight of carving a sink...

DIY Built In Bookshelf For Under $200
Просмотров 2743 года назад
My soon to be wife wanted a bookshelf. We had a small 7x7 random closet that used to be a bathroom in the upstairs of our house. We decided it would be a good idea to take out the wall and make it like a lofted library with a small wet bar. This is the first video of the two, the bookshelf. It's a built in, with a small cubby hole for a reading chair/light. I think it came out great and she lov...

How To Finish A Live Edge Slab
Просмотров 42 тыс.3 года назад
This is a fun little video that wasn't planned at all. More of a spur of the moment type deal. We bought a new 75 inch tv without thinking if it would fit on our current tv stand. We weren't going to buy a new stand, and all the stores were closed due to the covid lockdown. We decided to use an oak slab we were saving for a bar top and use it as the Tv stand top. This video is a pretty good in ...
DIY Rustic Modern Pallet Feature Wall for $60
Просмотров 1203 года назад
In this video i'm showing you how I built my feature wall. I used some pallet stock pine from my local lumber yard. The total cost of the pine was $62.5. If you include the stain it was another $10. That plus a little elbow grease and you get something amazing. I'm so happy with how it turned out. We painted our entire house after removing the wallpaper. The wallpaper above the stairs was multi...

DeWalt DW734 Planer Review/Unboxing
Very helpful. It's hard to find a video where they don't already assume you have a lot of knowledge.
Whats the HP of the new motor?
Could you link the topcoat you used?
Aren't coasters supposed to be absorbent?
The main goal is to protect the table top, specifically the finish on the top.
Do you Use Shelack on coasters?
I have not, but I don't see why you couldn't. I haven't used it in years but it's similar to nail polish. Giver and let me know how it goes!
I did this using 4x4’s and after staining them and putting polyurethane most of my pieces warped even though I made sure they were on a flat surface with a vice or something heavy on top. How do I avoid this?
So many things. Great question. After cutting wood you're exposing new fibers to humidity/air that weren't exposed to before. Generally after cutting/milling you need to let the wood sit and acclimate. Also, it has to breathe from both sides. if one side adjusts to the new humidity/air faster than the other then you get cupping/warping. Also, you need to put the same finish on both sides at the same time. For the same reasons. Hope this helps!
@@Sydsworkshop This helps so much! Thanks for your time. I think the main issue was I wasn’t staining both sides because I wanted to put some felt or foam on the bottom, I thought the stain for satin would make it harder for the material to stick. How long should I let the wood acclimate after cutting?
@nightman69 I would say 12-24h. Depends on the thickness etc. Also stain and finish both sides always. The weak point of the felt is the adhesive itself. I usually have to super glue my felt to my furniture feet. Great questions.
@@Sydsworkshop I really appreciate the tips, this helps a lot.
Never use osb or plywood. It doesn't allow for proper ventilation of the mattress and or box spring.
I cringed and my toes curled up when that piece of wood flew off the table saw. I recently had a kick back on my saw which dented my arm. My body was out of the way and I got my hands out of the way as the piece took air. I used to make coffee coasters using pallet wood. It was perfectly dry and ready to use. Just needed some planing to clean them up.
Safety last?
I can't believe you still have 10 fingers
why did you sand 1.5” to .5”. why not use 4/4 boards
I have used this product in the past. It works great for me. I’ve tried finally get at Home Depot and Ace, but wasn’t close and did not want to drive 10 miles on Amazon Amazon for actually cheaper than what’s at the big box stores. I like supporting my local Ace Hardware, but if they don’t carry it
Then this is not a teaching video if you're going to fast forward through everything! Sorry had to say it..🤨
Hey don't worry about all these young woke commentators that never leave their mommy's basement.
You didn't ground the metal box. Why not use a plastic rework box?
Seriously, don't hold the wood that close to the blade on the left side, your fingers should NEVER be that close to a saw blade - if you can't push it through your table saw with the push stick in the center between the blade and the fence, you're using the wrong piece of equipment or should not proceed with the operation you are attempting. And get rid of that strap on your hip, all it takes is for a machine to grab a piece of clothing (especially something like a lanyard, leash, strap, etc.) and it WILL PULL YOU INTO THE MACHINE usually creating a catastrophic injury!!! Also use pushsticks that have replaceable tips, those usually don't shatter into sharp shards if the blade hits them, a GrabberPRO Push Block is also a good accessory to have for your table saw or router. #SAFETYFIRST
Kickback when resawing the 2x4 (no riving knife) followed by crosscutting against the fence (no riving knife). Be glad you still have all your body parts.
Is the fermeldahide toxic smell a concern to your health off the plywood?
Look’s so pretty
Check that your table saw blade is actually parallel to your fence. A measuring tape should be sufficient. Also verify that your blade isn't bent. These can contribute to kickback and make your saw dangerous to use. For the finish, you can use paper grocery bags to buff the poly, and then use your choose of wax. The wet sanding is overkill and because it's waxed over, no one will ever notice or truly appreciate the effort that went into that part, as the wax will fill in low spots and even everything out anyway. Great looking coasters though!
140 for a battery in Canada!? Ridiculous
Why not just use 1x4's
You wanna hang out?
👀 'Promo SM'
I love it when people have that “perfect” piece of scrap wood lying about lol
LMAO 1 YOU NEED TO START IT BEFORE CHECKING THE OIL 2 THE CAR NEEDS TO BE LEVEL (OFF THE RAMPS) BEFORE CHECKING THE OIL 3 YOU NEED TO CHECK FOR LEAKS WHILE RUNNING YOU REALLY SHOULDNT BE DOING HOW TO VIDEOS AND IVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE DRIVE OFF RAMPS BEFORE, I ALWAYS WONDERED WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE
WOW THANK YOU FOR THE VERY INFORMATIVE COMMENT!!
Why are we yelling??
I took 90 minutes to do an oil change last week, put it on the alignment rack because I was doing a brake job on my lift. Put it up drain the oil, then good old parts guy wanted to shoot the shit because the rack is right by him. So we talk we talk, I go back to my brake job, not until I ask my neighbor about an hour later, “ who’s been on the rack so long” does he burst out laughing and says “I’m pretty god damn sure it’s you man”…. Whoops

My 16 inch Ryobi is 40 volt and works very well.
Nice job 👍
whoa NEW VIDEO!???
I even have part 2 edited already ;)
I dislike watching 2 ads before video
would you consider putting grooves in the coaster to catch condensation? if so, how would you do that?
Great question. So many things come to mind. Coasters are not something that you can really make profit with. If you're selling then heck no I wouldn't. If you want to make the best coaster ever for yourself, yes I would consider making grooves. if probably set up the table saw at a 45 and cut some sort of v notch dado. Probably in a cross cross pattern like a chess board. But! Then you're looking at sanding and finishing all those dados. Which would be extremely time consuming and tedious. And there's potential for finish pooling at the bottom of the grooves. Cool idea tho for sure. Let me know if you end up doing it!
@@Sydsworkshop A router table would likely be the safer tool to accomplish that task, even a router when you use double sided tape for a batch of coasters would still likely be a better option for putting a groove into a piece like these coasters - also don't forget about using a GrabberPRO Push Block for the router table option, another shop tool that can remove body parts before you realize it has happened!
Thanks for this, easy to understand for a beginner like myself!
Hi, great job, congrats. Do you have the plans?
This was really helpful, thank you!
My step dad lost 3 fingers doing that! You gotta take a smaller bite and work ur way up. Ur trying to take way to much at a time
Measurements please Sir i need to build on for my wife
Oof yeah, good call on just building the jig w/ some ply. Glad that still worked out for the best.
2x4's are usually really damp wood and if you cut it thin, especially to sell eventually its going to warp bad, etc., not the best choice for something you're thinking of selling.
Great job man. LEARNING is what we all need to do and sharing our mistakes is a great way for other people to learn even more . Applause
God thank you for your mercy on fools who do STUPID things on TABLE SAWS....NO riving knife, no push blocks, on his knees...GOD's mercy is REAL...I just show all of this youtube videos of people using power tools to PROVE God is GOOD.
I just use 4x4s and cut them 3/4th inch each then u dont need to worry about splitting it in half
What do you do about warping? I did the same using 4x4’s and after I stained them they warped bad
It looks great . Which kind of wood did you use.
The slab in this video is red oak.
Ooof 3:20 made me incredibly anxious. Please never ever do that again, the chances of kickback are crazy high and you could get really hurt. Always use the miter gauge and NO fence for these type of cuts
Is it very important to stain the wood even if you make a floating platform style frame?
Stain is for astatic purposes only.
I just bought this and it's perfect for my tiny lawn. I can finish my lawn in 15 mins with one battery still has 1 bar of power left. Now I'm buying the vacuum cleaner(tool only) because i have 2 batteries that came with the mower. I highly recommend this product for tiny lawns.
Thumbs up and subscibed. 1/8" aluminum angle?
The idea is right, but it definitely needs refining. Looked very flimsy with potential for you and your work to come a cropper really quickly. I know using a sledge is very seldom unless your planning to do numinous slabs, table tops ect. As its all about the finishing and safety there are better builds out there. I liked the way you gave sound instructions on setting up the the levels of the rounds. You've got the basics steps down, so your next attempt at building a sledge will be a lot better I'm sure.
Good hearted guy
