So many of the things you said I do relate to. Gave me some really good things to think about. I work full time hours from home and am married with a 5,4 and 2 year old as well as a 16 year old step son. It’s so hard to get everything done, but I’m working through this mindset of everything being on just me, because aside from my family to help, we are never alone in our workload with the Lord… although he still hasn’t done any of my housework while I sleep yet 😂

Loved the baskets. My aunt has that waste basket but yes you could totally use it for little toys.

Im switching my major to family & consumer science (i didnt even know it was available as a major!) and i know its basically just an extension of high school home economics but that is my interest and its so practical and its a passion of mine, i dont care for climbing the corporate ladder ive pearned that self sufficiency is one thing that should be valued and its a dream of mine to have an off grid homestead, idk how it will happen but im gonna make it happen!

thank you for this video, I have a 4 month old baby and I paused my studies for a year to be a stay at home mum and, honestly, I love cooking, baking, sewing... but I'm not too good at maintaining a clean, tidy home consistently, especially now that the baby takes up a lot of my time (I have a hard time letting her sleep in her crib during the day, so I end up being na-trapped for a long time). it's good to see that some mums don't have it all perfectly figured out yet, and that things will improve with time.

When home with children in order to not get frustrated by the constant repetitive nature of homemaking would try to do something creative each day. For me it was crafts, gardening, baking. I tried to think of them as outside of realm of everyday chores.

This video popped up today. You are doing a great job. As a 4-Her, I knew how to cook and sew when I got married. But my mom had many other things she'd rather do than clean house. I didn't really have skills as a homemaker. I was a terrible housekeeper when my kids were young. I so wish that I'd had all of the vlogs to watch, when I was younger!!! You might enjoy My Sunny Days vlog. She's a young homemaker. Keep doing what you're doing.

I definitely can relate to how you’re feeling! I’ve been married for 8 years, but had a high demand job so I never really learned how to be a “homemaker.” I was just in survival mode and did what I could to make it to the next day. My daughter is starting school now so i quit my job due to schedule conflicts. Ive been learning for the last year or so, it really brings me joy. But none of it came naturally to me, my mom worked too and never cooked or anything like that. I’m proud of the next generation, we are beginning to see the value in things like home cooked meals, gardening, preserving, etc. again.

I'm a full time work from home mom to an autistic toddler, and these are all great tips, this is basically how I do things and manage to stay mostly on top of things, ESPECIALLY the cooking! We do leftovers twice a week, cook three times a week, order pizza on Fridays, and do cheap take out or fast food on Saturday nights after church. Leftovers are the best.

You should add "and parents" on top.

This is the first video of your channel that I have found and I love that you are talking about the phases of learning for homemaking. I learned on my own and am now 60. I learned how to make all of my own condiments and breads - you name it. My advice, tackle something new each year whether it be pickling, baking, canning ...whatever your interests are. But most of all enjoy the process! And I just want to add that you are already doing better than you think! :)

There is a grain mill still in the box waiting for me to watch videos, decide where to buy the grain, what kind to buy, and start sprouting….😂😂 Sleepy just thinking about it! Mostly because I don’t know WHERE to start! I’m not really a new homemaker but fancy breads are new to me. I too feel like I’m just getting back to being able to keep my home tidy, and my baby is 2.5 😆🤪 You should check out Mary’s Kitchen. She makes traditional foods and is like an encyclopedia!

You can start with freezer jam and get the consistency right, that helps a lot with water bath canning!! 😊😊

What a beautiful video! Homemaking is definitely a learned skill, one I did not have when I got married at 18. I hope who are young are able to learn sooner than I did. This is a reminder to me to wash my cabinets too.

Wishing you the best and I say this with all love but when i see women having to work plus do everything else it isnt fair. God made women weaker and more fragile physically. We even need more rest and kids take a whole toll on the body. I pray your husband can make it work to where you do not have to work if you choose not to. 😢

Enjoyed hearing your thoughts on this! I became a sahm/homemaker unintentionally at the start of Covid which was also when our second baby was born. We then had our third not too long after, on top of some other life things, so it’s been hectic. I feel like I’m *just now* getting out of survival mode and able to look around and make progress in my homemaking goals. I would love to learn to bake bread, canning, knitting etc, but like you say, it feels like a huge mental hurdle to add that when I’m still *just* getting a handle on things like laundry and having dinner ready on time. Anyway, just thought I’d leave a comment to say that I’m here with you in the beginning stages 😊🩵

I've been a homemaker for years and I still don't feel like I know what I'm doing most days 😂 With each kid, routines change and you have to find your own rhythm with each stage. You're doing great!

Good video but an advice please don't waste that much water close the tap between rinsing dishes. That's liters of good water that are wasted. Just an advice

Yes to homemakers in all stages. I am in my 50s and I am a homemaker through and through but I also work outside the home. Homemakers come in all shapes sizes ages stages. We are all just finding out own way. Keep going ...you're doing great.💕

I loved hearing the littles in the background. Mine are always in my voiceovers! This was such a great chat. I was just saying to a friend of mine how i feel like there’s always something to work on but little time to actually do things. This was the exact perspective I had.

I am a full-time working mama as well, and I appreciate the perspective because all the homemakers I follow are stay at home moms. Recently, I implemented the 1-2 chores each day, aka putting your home on a schedule, which is really helpful. I pray everything is going well with your new baby ❤

I have been married for 40 years and have been a stay at home wife (mom & grandma) for about half of that time. In my opinion, you have discovered your style of home decor . . . you buy what you like and put it where you want to. Don't overthink it or follow trends. Your home is where you and your family feel comfortable and loved. Your home looked beautiful! I think that you are doing great! I’m doing the same working from home and also being a homemaker. It can be hard I feel the weight now that I’m pregnant and have A puppy because it’s more real the fact of having a toddler (that we will soon ❤) making her little mess will make me proof my patience 😅 I want to be a full time homemaker but for now the income is necessary and I’m fortunate enough to be able to do as much as I do just because I work from home. The money we save on gas, the time, etc. it’s just nicer when you can dedicate your full time to your passion 😊

I am a a full time homemaker only after retiring early due to ill health. Juggling a work/home life balance is soooo difficult- especially when there are kids involved as well. I am full of respect for all women who are trying their best to make sure all aspects of their lives are taken care of. ❤️❤️❤️

I need all the help I can get on this subject! It’s so hard being away from home for 9 hours and coming home and having to cook, clean and shower and rest and get to bed on time too.

I feel im being called to prioritize homemaking. Ive been the career woman since college and i desore tonfocus more on my husband, children ans home. Im praying to land a remote job soon. I want to be able to being in income but I no longer get care for promotion

Thanks for making this video. I’m a night shift nurse and I work overtime usually every week. I am having such a hard time balancing homemaking and work and I really want to make it a priority to be more consistent with keeping up with my housework. My chore and meal schedules being so chaotic is making my life very stressful and it is something I need to work on. I will definitely be implementing these tips and praying for God to help me facilitate doing so!
