    • @TheDavidNeytsShow

      Sweeteners like fruit juice, honey, molasses and maple syrup contain natural sugar and have some nutritional benefits. Fruit has fiber, vitamins and antioxidants. Even raw honey and maple syrup can contain antioxidants and minerals like iron, zinc, calcium and potassium. The bad types of sugar are regular table sugar (sucrose), added sugar, or the refined stuff you find in sodas, candy, cookies, ketchup, or processed foods. The recommended daily intake of sugar is approximately 6 teaspoons (25 grams).

    What a sooooo lovely city ❤ And I didn't know for this huge earthquake. It's sad to see how powerful it was with the sort of "memorial" but I think it's important for people to see it and be conscient about the fact they have to be careful. And I'm surprised with the price of the beef. Because here, with non-kobe beef, we can pay a steak between 20 and 25 euros, easily 😅 Thanks a lot for this new beautiful video buddy! 🤜🤛

    • @TheDavidNeytsShow

      The beef was delicious but I also got the cheapest menu. If I had gotten the prime meat it would have been 4 to 5 times this price. I must say though that even the cheapest option rivals many good Japanese restaurants in Belgium. It is expensive relative to Japan restaurant prices where you can easily get a full meal between 4 to 10 dollars

    Daaaaamn! I didn't know about this ninja town!! I think we can say without hesitation that Shibuya is a sort of "Disneyland" in the middle of Tokyo but without the attractions of course 😂 Or maybe a small Las Vegas with all these lights? 😁 But yeah this part of the city is one that we know better in Tokyo even if we never put a foot there lol! And I loved your ending scene, so quiet, it was a HUGE contrast with the rest of the video. Good job buddy 👍

    • @TheDavidNeytsShow
      @TheDavidNeytsShow 9 дней назад

      Even in it's most busy areas the city is built in such a way that it respects its residents. From crowded streets to completely quiet areas just a few meters apart. You mention a smaller size Vegas. I actually feel the reverse. The lights in Tokyo and other major cities in Japan are actually much more impressive than Vegas. It's two very distinct and different worlds.

    OMG this crowd!! 😅😅 Yeah I totally get what you said in this fish market: I think some people would not feel comfortable lol! And I loved the Fuji's building. For me it's like a sort of UFO that stopped there for a while, just enough time to recharge batteries and to go back home... (yeah ok I'm making a whole story here 😂) And I'm not a Gundam fan but wow... this robot is amazing!! And I think, for geeks like us, just having a robot in de middle of the city, it's just already a dream. We're not used to see that in Belgium lol! I really love this area. One thing I'll say about the Observatory, which is a real pity, is the fact that now parking on top of Griffith park is super expensive. So, only way to really hang out at the observatory is to either park at the bottom and hike all the way up or take a shuttle bus which departs close to the Greek theatre and even on lower streets in that area. Even with that it's still one of my favorite places to spend time in.

    I noticed you use brown sugar (unrefined sugar from sugarcane). I believe the original recipe in Belgium uses unrefined sugar from beetroot instead of sugarcane. In Belgium, in Tirlemont's sugar refinery, they use local beetroot. I'm just wondering if there is any difference in taste between unrefined sugarcane sugar and unrefined beetroot sugar. Also, I would advise to prepare the yeast separately away from the salt to give the yeast a chance to grow strong. Then 10 min later you can dump it into the mixture that contains salt.

    • @TheDavidNeytsShow
      @TheDavidNeytsShow Месяц назад

      Hi, this recipe is mainly catered to people that aren't living in Europe, but were missing the delicious taste of European waffles, so I used ingredients that were reasonably easy to purchase at a local American store. There may be a slight difference between the beetroot sugar and refined sugar but honestly it's minimal. As for the yeast. I did the same recipe in Belgium with the yeast I bought there and it grew much more with the Belgian one than the American one I use in this recipe. Definitely the quality of ingredients is different from continent to continent. The recipe comes out great with the ingredients I buy at USA stores but have to modify when doing same recipe in Europe. Also, since this is a recipe I look at it as art. You should experiment with it and find a way to do it that fits your taste pallet and kitchen equipment that you have. There are definitely things that authentic waffle makers in Belgium have, like the industrial waffle maker, that you most likely will not have at home.

      It would actually be funny if they made a modern take on it. Although I do feel that they culture shock of going from the 70-80s would probably be less drastic than 1969 to 1905. The 20th century had a huge boost in technology compared to what we are living now.

    Don't understand how European ppl think cane sugar is brown sugar just because it's darker than white sugar.....brown sugar has molasses added to it for taste, cane sugar is just unprocessed white sugar

    • @TheDavidNeytsShow
      @TheDavidNeytsShow 2 месяца назад

      In Europe, cassonade is mostly used and is a type of unrefined sugar with a natural caramel flavor and golden color. It's similar in appearance to brown sugar, but it doesn't have molasses added like American brown sugar does. Cassonade's flavor and texture are distinct, making it a preferred choice for certain recipes like crepes. So...I think Europeans do know the difference ;-)

    Nice rview. Ive livd here over 50 years. One of the lowest crime cities in the US over 200K. Also Armenian food central. Birthplace of actor John Wayne. Also interesting is the Brand Art Gallery and Library dedicated to art and music. Also soon the Armenian historical museum. Glendale has enjoyed low crime but has had some some interesting murderous characters. Back in the 80s the Hillside Stranglers Keneth Biancci and Angelo Buono operated from Bono's top shop in Glendale. Efrain Saldivar worked at Adventist hospital and was convicted of killing many patients. Called "The Angle of Death. And lastly John Orr was a city firefighter and serial arsonist finally caught and convicted of murder when someone died in one of his fires. Low crime in glendale except for the occasional serial killer, heheh. The author James M Cain (Double Indemnity, Mildred Pierce, and the Postman Always Rings Twice) lived in adjacent Burbank but set all of his novel in Glendale. Brand Library and The Train Station will be recognizable in many movies. Because of the convenient location, if you know glendale well, you will recognize many shooting location in tv shows, like the old Police Station. During Covid I wrote a murder mystery set in Glendale called "What You Wish For" If you like that kind of read. this isn't exactly a cash run, Amazon pays $3 a book or download so if a couple people get it, I might order Zankou Chicken tonight for dinner :)

      @@TheDavidNeytsShow I live in Glendale a well and have also lived in Silverlake, Atwater and Echo Park. During Covid I wrote a murder mystery and set it in Glendale. It's called "What You Wish For. Silverlake is where author James Elroy (LS Confidential) lived for a while and set some of his early novels. Just off Hyperion as you leave Atwater is the home of Lino LaBainca the owner of Beaches market in Atwater who was murdered by the Manson clan. On the other side of Rowena is a great old German restaurant thats been there since the 50s on Glendale Blvd. The Red Lion. Also in the sixties kids used to drag race along the straight by the reservoir. Really pissed off the home owners. Also racing along Riverside drive between Fletcher and Glendale Blvd. On Sunset there used to be the Pioneer Market, famous for being the first market in LA open 24 hours. My family temporarily lived in a big brick apartment building on Sunset about 1956. I hated it. No other kids around. Later moved to Echo Park. Back in the late 50 early 60s, kids used to drive down on to the LA river bed and race when the water level was down. My friends were raised Catholic and instead of going to confession in Atwater we went to a church in Silverlake where the priest only spoke Hungarian I believe. heh.
