@induction7895 I have replaced the R400 which of course is a 2 way speaker, to a three-way speaker. The on axis of the speaker sounded great but off axis was terrible. So again, going to a three-way design helped tremendously.

Sorry for the late reply but my surrounds were mounted close to the ceiling and I noticed most professional installs had them 4-5 feet high, so I moved mine to 5 feet and did notice an overall improvement. Ideally, you want all your speakers to be close to ear level but I do prefer my surrounds speakers a bit higher.

It's funny you ask that. I was really wanting to like the r400, but to your point the off axis response on that speaker was horrible so I went from a 2 way to a 3 way center channel and that fixed the problem.I need to post a new video because I made a few changes.

@@thetopher8116 Ah I am glad I saw this the Legend 400 is very expensive at 1700+ dollats...so maybe the Monolith is the way to go.

@petekutheis3822 My new center channel is a wharfadale 4.c it's in the Evo line and I love it. it is a little more expensive but money well spent. and the speakers huge which I like.

I keep them crossed over at 80hz and no problems at all.

I can only set the r900s on top of the r700 towers. Would this be a waste.

@@NaveedKhan-bs1scwhat are you trying to accomplish ? R900 is technically a height module speaker for people who cannot install in ceilings atmos speakers. Its not equivalent but it’s available for that purpose.

The receiver is a Yamaha RXA 2080.It's a couple years old now but it does a good job.But I have a Sherbourn amplifier that I use on my 3 front channels and 2 surrounds and the receiver handles the rest.

Well I would say don't expect it to be tactile bass like a subwoofer but for a tower speaker they're amazing. And to this day or since I purchased them they still surprise me how much bass output they have. So again it's not going to rattle your couch like a subwoofer but for a tower speaker it's very good. And I will also say if you're just doing 2 channel or music I won't even use a Sub because the towers have more than enough bass

In this video is it just the Polks or are you using the subwoofers ???

You can technically run those speakers with a 105 W but if this is a receiver they usually underrate them. So just know that you won't get the full performance of the speakers until you get a dedicated amp to power them.

Thanks for the comment. The RP 8000 is a great speaker, I think the klipch is a excellent home theater speaker but for me the R700 or the reserved line is a more neutral speaker so for me it is a more of a well rounded speaker for music and 2 channels listening but if it's strictly for home theater I would consider the Klipch but if you're going to be doing a mixture of everything 2 channel and home theater I would lean more towards the R700s, And of course the sound signature like I say the klipch being a little brighter and the polks being more of a neutral speaker, that sound signature is more of a personal preference.. And you're going to save a few hundred on the klipch . Just my take 👌

​@thetopher8116 klipsch definitely have their own distinctive sound.. i dont mind cause they dont take much power too play loud but they fatigue your ears faster in my opinion.. unless its the la Scala or heresy line they're referenced line is more for home theater.. i want too get these polks r700 but going down the rabbit hole watching all the reviews for towers in the price range of 2-4k a pair and man there is some serious competition and amazing bargains its tough decision. Im thinking r700, monitor audio silver 500, focal, arendal 1723thx, emotiva t3, tannoy xt9f but i doubt i can get a pair in the usa man i just dont know i haven't heard any in person but they all sound good through my klipsch 2.1 pc monitor speakers lol.. they will basically be a blind buy no matter what.. but i really feel the most rave has really been from r700 and arendal but with r700 the competition hasn't even been close everyone prefers the r700 so that says it all really..
