Jerma Preformance Artist: Old English dub
Just another quick one out the gate- this one was considerably simpler then the others
obviously yes we cannot know for certain what the names of renaissance artists would be in Old English.
Script:
Þēs is cræft hēr- Ic maciġe nū rihte!
Þēs is scēawcræft! ġē understandaþ ne?
Þēs is sēo libbing tīefring þæt þū siehst!
Michelangelo, Leonardo, Davinci, fulldēad!
Ic belīfe! Understenst þē? Ic belīfe! Swā swā scēawcræftere.

Jerma's meatgrinder rant- Old English dub
Просмотров 316Месяц назад
Guess I'm doing this now This one was considerably more difficult then the last, having to translate terms like "instakill" (did pretty literally as "sudden kill") and "meatgrinder", which I took some more creative liberty on- Germeald of Bostun circa 985 AD is instead threatening to grind you betwixt two millstones. I've also taken this opportunity to somewhat improve my use of old english- fo...
Jerma's teacher noise but its dubbed in Old English

Please note: I am not a scholar of Old English. If I was I would not be using that knowledge to make Jerma edits. I in fact probably made so many grammatical errors that Bede is sobbing in his grave, but it is worth it. After reading the description, I took a closer look at the Old English, so I hope this doesn't come across as an arrogant display on my part, but as a fellow learner of the language, I thought to offer some grammatical corrections. ^^ Swiþrice isn't a word I can recognize, but based on the original Jerma clip, I believe the appropriate word here is swiftlice. Fullhlude should be fullhlud instead. A predictive use of an adjective always keeps it strong rather than weak. Instead of croppa, I think heap works best as a word for group. And heap takes a genitive, so a group of children would be cildra heap. And because heap is a singular noun, the verb should be in the singular, asægþ. If we are to literally translate "Fuck you" here, then "fuck thyself" should be "fucca þe selfne". Sittaþ rather than sitten. Instead of gelice, given the whole phrase, I think þus works best. "Thus, like this" rather than just "like". "It always works" should be "Þæt ealneg gespedeþ" or "Hit ealneg gespedeþ". Or the other forms of that conjugation, I think there's three in total. But good attempt on the phrase. ^^ Well, I hope this was informative and helpful. Ic wysce þe godre spede!

þancas! I am very much a new beginner without a solid learning structure yet, so seeing feedback is incredibly welcome! swiþrice was just a genuine misspeak, I tend to not speak much into a microphone in general, let alone in a foreign language- vowels and semivowels are still a challenge.

its pretty DIY- I'm mainly using Wiktionary to look up what the old forms of words are and making sure the definitions hold up, and look into specific words if there's not a good equivalent I can easily find. My grammar is pretty fundimentally vibes based- I write my scripts out more like poetry then anything and use a base knowledge of German and modern English, doing basic research if I'm hitting a wall- TLDR, I wing it and making scripts takes a DECENT amount of time.

Fun fact: "Fuccest" is the oldest form of the modern swear in english, and originates from the germanic "Focka", meaning to strike something.
