Only time out to a track with the car for this year and ran my new personal best. Still have to sort out a fuel pressure issue but should be ready to go for 2024.

New pump gas engine’s first track day
Просмотров 1223 года назад
Finally got to make some runs with the new pump gas 421 small block in my Nova. We were only running 1/8 mile, so my best run was a 6.85 @ 99 mph. A little slower than the last engine, but it was 85° and very humid. So hopefully I’ll get to make some runs in cooler air to see what it’ll do

Man thas one mean and nasty Nova lol
Beautiful Nova. What did it run ? So many videos don't show the time 🤷♂️🤦♂️
@@Comet-hn3gm thank you, the best it’s ran is a 10.20 @ 128. I think this video it was running 10.50’s
@@brandon_419 That is awesome. My Nova has run a best of 10.28 @ 128
@@Comet-hn3gm sweet, we’d be a pretty good race then
@@brandon_419 Lol, you would win. I'm bad on the lights, and am rarely at the track.
@@Comet-hn3gm you never know, I’m not at the track very often anymore either
Any power loss with the 3000? I switching to 3000's as well the 9000 just too loud for a street car
Not that I have noticed, but that’s only based on a couple no prep passes. I’m hoping to run on a prepped track this fall and see how they do compared to the 9000’s
0:04
I know right, I came for the chick, but I'm buying some Spin tech 3000's now.
I'd have to hear them on a BBC with a big cam, but the 3000's have more bite
Whats the details on the engine? sounds great!
Thank you! It’s a 10.5:1 421” small block Chevy. Afr 220 cylinder heads, solid roller cam, bmp 4150 intake ported by Ron Warrick, and a quick fuel 950 carb.

X pipe?
Yeppers, 3-1/2” x-pipe
Awesome comparison. I went with the 3000 for the 396sbc stroker I once had due to both my neighbors having newborn children. The 3000 are way quieter at idle as oppose to the 9000
That’s solid 💯💯
yea buddy
Cam't go wrong with either! Sounds fantastic!!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thank you! The 3000’s are noticeably quieter in person, but they still have a very similar sound/tone
The 9000 is quite a bit louder. You look at the 6000 series or just jump from 9 to 3k? Still, love the car!! And the sound! Building a blown injected 70 Nova right now and thinking on the 9 or 6k....
@@andyreiwitch8845 my dad actually has the 6k on his car and I like the sound of them as well, just wanted to try and really tame the sound of my car. That sounds like a badass build!
How are they for power?
@@CLEEPER1 the car ran basically the same 1/8 et with 1 or 2 mph higher than with the 9000 series mufflers
TOTE THAT MAIL SON!!! MADE ME SUBSCRIBE
Thank you for subscribing!!
yea buddy
What's your set up?
10.5:1 421” small block, afr 220 heads, solid roller cam, th400, 4.56’s, trz control arms with Viking shocks up front, Calvert split monos and Caltracs out back with strange shocks
@@brandon_419 You are really getting the front wheels up in the air, My 565 doesn't carry mine like that. I still need to get some good front shocks and control arms, but I have the Caltracs and split mono's also. My car is a 1979 Trans Am,
@@stevekotenberg133 I do have a fair amount of travel in the front end, I think that has a lot to do with it. I probably could’ve tightened up the front shocks some too and kept it tied down more but wheelies are fun lol
@@brandon_419 How did you get more front-end travel? The control arms?
@@stevekotenberg133 the control arms actually took away some travel, so I added a taller upper ball joint to get some of the travel back. And going back to a stock spindle from a 2” drop helped a little too
Nice! I used to race my 70-1/2 Rally Sport there in the early 90's. Lots of fond memories there❤
What's up Brandon.
What’s up man!
What year is the truck, and what is it a d100
It’s a 1977 and d100 is the truck model
Are you also using 2 step in other videos. i see what looked like foot brake launch and it seemed to go well
I was just foot braking it this run, I believe the only video I have on here where I was running it was when it came unplugged. Might try and use it some more this year
Bad machine
I’ve got a 1960 D100 that I’m doing a pro street build on and seeing this gives me motivation to get mine done! From one Mopar fan to another I love the truck!!!
You did ‘‘em dirty you bad man!
Nice truck man MO-POWER= MOPAR LOVE IT!!!!
Its a stroker? And What the best time in drag race ,?
It’s just a .060 over 440, I believe it has gone 11.60’s or 70’s
Man I was shifting gears in the living room !!
Even with this video being almost 4 years old, I still pull it up on the tv every now and then to do the same thing lol
I think your camera man sucks
Oh how I love the sound of mean bad ass 🇺🇲American Muscle🇺🇲 Music to my ears
There really is nothing like a thumping v8
@@brandon_419 isn't that the truth
I estimate that was over 100 bucks in fuel
Surprisingly, that engine was only about 10.6:1. He still mixed race fuel with pump gas but not as bad as running straight
Vacuum secondaries?
Yes indeed
Sounds like horsepower to me!! Good job!
Does that thing got a hemi in it? Lol
It’s a 440 bored .060” over if I remember correctly
Seems that you are willing to pay for the tires and fuel I give thumbs up all day long.. Love the sound of power and tires burning. (Nice rides)
Even with the cost of everything being up, it’s still worth going out and having fun to us. Thank you!
thought those look like md woods, nice mopars
Thank you!
Its so nice to see someone do a real burnout without using the brake. Great sounds as well
Finally, someone else who gets it lol thank you!
I mean if ya wanna sit there for a second for a little extra haze, that's cool ,but don't just lift off and putter away. You're supposed to stay in it for as long as you can handle and let it roll out. This things one badass mammyjacker!
@@MrTheHillfolk I think it’s more impressive that he kept the burnout going without needing to stay at full throttle
Agreed 👍
@@brandon_419 haha yeah I could hear him pedaling it ✌️
Yo that thing is lit, it sounds sooo good!!!
Oh Yeah! That'll cure erectile dysfunction!😁

Yes Sir!My favorite sound in the world. Cammed up and well built Mopar.

que video de mierda viejo
What engine is it
It’s a .060 over 440
Where is the burnout
Love it!
Love the bridge burnout 😍😍😍😍
Would your friend won't to sale the truck now? Looking for a family toy !!
No I don’t think it’ll be for sale, he’s had it a long time and it’s pretty much part of his family. But good luck in searching for a toy!
Beautiful truck! I wish I could have seen it for more than 10 seconds.
I hope I can make another video of it soon. It has been down for a couple years now unfortunately. Thank you though!
What engine and how many cubes?
It’s a .060 over 440 so I believe that makes it a 451? Unfortunately this engine isn’t together anymore
@@brandon_419 what happen it teploded!
@@jgreen4715 yeah unfortunately it teploded pretty good, but hopefully it’ll be coming back together soon
