How does the image quality compares to the Sony?

sony A7IV is a fantastic camera but it has so many bottlenecks that funnily enough are even more extreme in the higher end variants as well as the A1 and A9 systems. Such as the viewfinder resolution halving when the camera focuses or highlights focus during DMF mode, extreme heating on the left side, 5fps above 12 bit raw (15 for both A1s and 60 for A9iii which is laughable considering you have Nikon Z8 with fully uncompressed release at 40fps at full resolution and a 3 miliseconds sensor readout speed which equals the focal plane shutter speed) and very bad main body ergonomics. Sony should re release the A99II design (especially considering that the A99II is not really bigger than the A7!) but in E mount and with the specs of the A1 ii, if they do i will sell half of my liver for it. The A99II is still the best camera in the world except for the lack of full time eye tracking.

reckon the s5iix out performs this for features and price point to be honest but still a great camera just doesnt seem the best value now

Great video as always and I agree with everything you said. The a7 IV is a fantastic camera, but there are still a few things I would like to change for the a7 V: better EVF, flip/tilt Screen and grip/ergonomics as well as button layout from a1 II. Ofcourse I also wouldn't mind a slightly higher resolution sensor (around 45mp would be ideal) and some more video features to work with, but the ergos, screen and EVF are what I would like to see changed the most.

Does the Thypoch Simera sharpen to infinity with standard adapters? Because I have heard that there is a problem with this.

you can edit this nikon profile and take pictures in RAW. When you open the images in Nikon NX Studio, the program will load them with the profile you used to take them. In this program you can make changes to the raw file, export it to TIF and in Lr mirc colour RAW and Tif as it was taken in camera and edited in NX studio.

You will enjoy the Z6III for sure.. I was OG Z6 shooter, but switched to the A7III when I started filming weddings, since the XQD cards at the time were stupid expensive (3x 256 gig cards costed as much as my Z6 + 24-70 f4s + FTZ + 50 1.8 (F mount) + the 64 GB XQD I got with the kit). It was cheaper to sell my kit, switch to the A7III with 4x 256GB V30 SD cards, and swap the f4 lens with a sigma 2.8, then to buy those freaking XQD cards LOL.. The A7III got the job done, but I hated shooting with it.. The Z6 was miles ahead in therms of user experience, and I do miss it a little even to this day! When I upgraded to the A7IV it was so much better then III, but still, that Nikon experience was haunting me hard..The only thing stopping me from jumping back to Nikon, is that they refuse to add redundancy video recording, and ever since I started doing paid work for once in a lifetime events, I am not willing to risk my clients memories. For now, the Fuji X-H2s is my weapon of choice, but I am always keeping an eye on Nikon!

The new screen design of sony cameras is not from sony and sony has no patent. Panasonic lumix invented this kind of screen and lumix s1h had it first. Then lumix gh6 had it. Sony just copied it.

On mine I've set the record button to ISO in photo mode, more or less like how my old D750 was set up. On the D750 the record button was used for ISO

On the ZF, I like that the ISO dial can be used to override the max auto iso. If you set your Auto ISO to a Max of 200 in the menus, the dial will override any value you set it to above 200. When you're shooting outdoors in the sun and have your Dial set to 16000, it will only ramp up the ISO to what it needs to expose, up to the Dial setting. If you set it to 100 on the dial it will use the 200 ISO in the menus as the max ISO. So if you're trying to shoot 100(on the dial) in low light, it will ramp up the ISO to 200(or what you set it to in the menu). In order to get 100 ISO, you'll just need to have the light or you can turn off auto iso.

*It's the It camera for 2024-25 because 1. No need for Lens, 2. It's for those whom don't want to have to Pick Len's gear and other expensive stuff, 3. You can use the App an that's it, 4. It's as Simple as it is fun to use. This is why I have the Osmo Pocket 3 and the Action 5. Oh and 5. The Dji Mic 2($100) gives it AMAZING Value and Audio*

I just set it up for AE mode like I used to on film camera. I don't use any other functions except for the B+W switch.

Great content. I recently switched from Fuji and as I also wear glasses the option to make the viewfinder magnification smaller is also a relief for my eye. On my Z6II this can be set via SETUP MENU->Finder display size->Small

I had a Q2 and somewhat reluctantly upgraded to the Q3 (for better video and low-light) and regret it. The Q2's button layout and overall simplicity is something I really miss for some weird reason. I don't use the Q3's flip-out screen nearly enough to justify it and I've mostly learned to avoid low-light situations without a tripod even with the Q3's improved performance.

can you back button focus with the ZF? Even if you can map the button to do so, I'd be concerned about the placement to use it to do so. deal breaker for me if I can't

Major fail for Nikon to not build Z lenses with aperture rings, even if it was just a couple of SE for this camera

10 years from now the M 28mm f1.4 summilux will be worth more than it is now but the Q 2 will be worth very little, that said i love my Q 2 but it is something to keep in mind when comparing price v the M version.
