He hired Nearest Green to be his Master Distiller, the first African-...

It’s a compass and level. There is stone from every continent on earth in that monument. Apparently there’s a chunk of Plymouth Rock in it somewhere.
Was you passing thru greenville?
Elvis was born here but he and his mother moved from here when he was about 2 years old after his father was convicted of check forgery and went to prison for a couple of years; they never lived in this house again before moving to Memphis when Elvis was 13
Thanks for the info. So Elvis didn't play his guitar on the front porch swing.

Pronounced A Tak Ka Paw... The town was called several names... also called Poste des Attakapas: This was the original name given by French settlers in the 18th century, named after the local Attakapa Indian tribe. Le Petit Paris: After the French Revolution, many Royalist refugees settled in the area, and it became known as "Little Paris" due to its cultural vibrancy. Saint Martinville: After Louisiana became a state in 1812, the town was officially named after St. Martin of Tours
I know every inch of that town. I road my bike to school the old school that is no longer there before they built the new school that is there today on Main street going out towards the Evangeline State Park. The bakery was one stop I used to make on my way to school every morning to grab a hot French bread and a few piece of Brioche... pronounced Bre Oush ! Lots of memories there... It was a great place to grow up...
This video was very helpful and educational thank you
I’ve lived in Mississippi all my life, and I’ve never been on Hwy. 49, or to Helena, Arkansas. We would love to have you visit Choctaw County, Mississippi. We have Choctaw Lake which attracts campers/visitors from all over the south, Pap’s Place and Sonny’s BBQ & Steaks(two of the best places to eat in the south), and North American Coal, where you can take a tour of the plant and the coal harvesting facilities, which with the land covers several hundred acres.
Typical Republi-con run state and they want to do this to the country... 01-06-21 * NEVER FORGET * 01-06-21
Helena started its' death dive in 1983.
Really nice KEEP up with your videos
Thanks, will do!
Beautiful
It’s beautiful my mother lived there when she was 5
That old blue building has been a few things. When my aunt owned it, it was a club named "Jazzy's"
With the restaurant four floors up, it looks like being able to climb up to it was part of the cure.
definitely
Enjoyed this little tour. You missed the ROSE OF THE LAKE Bed and Breakfast! And Patti’s Establishment is way fun to browse through shops and the grounds r immaculate! Patti’s Restaurant is a destination restaurant! Famous! Quite the story! A great little town.🫶
Park rangers are super helpful and knowledgeable.
I will never understand how all these bands crapped on Campbell Mercer and came back to play this festival after the city came in and railroaded him out. I will never set a foot on Jerusalem Ridge again in my lifetime!
I’ve been to Derby Line as a child with my family. My grandfather retired there. We used to drive to Island Pond and eat at a restaurant called “The Buck & Doe.” Curious if anyone that watches this that lives up there remembers that place. It was very popular in the 70’s.
If you want to see some Creole origins then Go Google it Nairaland Identity Fraud.
You were right around the corner from the Walton museum from the tv show.
You did a nice job on your little tour of our town. It is a great little historical place to visit. The Fort is really special if you get a chance to go see it. It is open Memorial Day though Labor Day
Thanks, I'll be back to check out the fort , I didn't have time on that trip.
Back in the late 1950's early 1960's my dad used to haul mobile homes over Slumgolian to Lake City. That was before the road was paved and widened.
That is amazing. I can imagine how rough that route was before it was paved.
@tarheelwhippoorwill My parents have some hair-raising tales.
My parents would take us camping there, most of my childhood. This was in the 60’s, before it was made a park. My Dad worked at International Harvester with a man whose family owned it. I feel blessed to have spent my summers there.
A great spot
Better pack heat and watch out for those wrong turn people.
It's neat the way it landed upright on the bottom of the swimming hole and filmed the fish coming up to investigate this huge inedible bug that showed up. Good diving down to get it. Those DJI drones have good waterproof housing!
im 55 and went here with my family when i was 10 or 11 u guess. id be horrified to do now! lol
very good job
Y love Newport 🥰👍🇨🇦
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. Ava was a very good actress and an interesting personality.
Thanks
Too bad it's south of the Mason Dixon line. I refuse to go a single centimeter farther south than I already am. The farther north one goes in the U.S., the more decent and intelligent individuals tend to be.
North doesn't mean smart. I live up here I listen. Crazy
@@pamelia-ow5gj I believe it DOES mean smart. I have worked jobs in West Virginia (the lowest average wage state in the country and the 2nd poorest) that literally pay $20,000 more in northern states for the same job title and duties (especially at universities). Their apartments often cost the same despite being MUCH better than what we have in state. Northern states are wealthier, have more educated populaces, and more upward mobility due to higher wages and more social policies. If I go east to Elkins, all I encounter are FAR right-wing, HIGHLY extremist idiots and young women/girls oversexualizing themselves in outfits strippers wouldn't wear onstage (because child sexual abuse is MUCH higher in rural areas than urban areas or suburbs). If you go as far north as Canada, you get a $16 minimum wage, universal healthcare that beats the U.S. in cost, access, and outcomes, AND you pay four times less for the same prescription drugs. I will NEVER go a single centimeter south, east or west where I live.
I've already gone. I'd never ever go knowing it was planned for me first. Don't ever plan this for us. We have less than no interest in being Dunkins. I'd press #FBIterror charges at you for it. Stay far away from us. Goodbye.
I will always totally love and adore Ava.

I had no idea this existed
This is really cool! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
I remember seeing Dickson Mounds when I was about 10 years old..It displayed hundreds of burials in situ. As they were uncovered.they had been left on pedestals of earth. The display consisted of an observation platform and colored lights highlighting particular special individuals, to a recorded soundtrack.. it's been since filled in, but it cemented my interest and fascination with our long distant past
The ancient past is intriguing. Thanks for watching,
My Mom was born there in 1934. My Great Uncle Alberto Rael has his name on many of items he donated there. My Great Grand Father Tiofilo Rael's name is engraved on a stone on the front porch.
Thanks for sharing that & for watching.
Thank you 🙏😇💙💙😇🙏
You are so welcome & thanks for watching.
So much beauty out east
Yes it tis! I especially like lush greens of summer.
Hi honey. I spent the summer of 1966 on this lake in a little cabin when my dad was taking a summer course at Middlebary College. ( I think I spelled that wrong). Back then, there was nothing there. Just a big empty lake. How fascinating to see how it looks now. We had to do our grocery shopping on the Canadian side. Anyway, it is most interesting to see what it looks like now.
Thanks for sharing your memories & glad you enjoyed the video.
Went up there un a rental car to see the eclipse from the lake . It was awesome. Was going to drive to Syracuse cos its closer but other customers Said it's going to be cloudy so I changed plans . Didn't realize how close to Canada I was until I looked up lake on wiki. Driving up took 5 hours back took 10 traffic the whole time on 91 in vt. But worth it
A great place to witness a unique event! Thanks for watching my video.
could anything be more ugly and tasteless than this paul bunyan in such beautiful area? local resident
The great George Washington was the largest producer of whiskey, as he marched Federal troops on the farmers in Western Pennsylvania. The way the tax worked is you bought a tax seal for the same amount of money no matter how many quarts of whiskey you produced. It pushed a lot of these Scottish farmers on down into Kentucky out of Pennsylvania. All to out run tax collection, this was nothing new to them taxes and being a pain for government pushed them from Scotland to Ireland then to the US.
Quite the irony. Thanks for the info & for watching.
Always a great time in trinidad hopefully get to visit again soon in a few months awesome peeps good vibes no negativity
Heck yeah
lincoln was Americas first mass murderer! 600,000 soldiers were butchered in lincolns war! not counting women and children!
Then they financed Abraham Lincoln's campaign over the Rothschild's. Thomas Baumgardner 1824 1872
Thanks for the info.
My grandfathers served with Abe Lincoln's father .
Quite a family legacy. Thanks for watching!
