    Aeropress used to be pretty popular at local shops, they don't push it anymore though. Think they stopped because it took them too much time. Have you heard of the "Clover" it was the legitimate best cup of regular-coffee you could make but they got bought out. The machine itself was thousands of dollars but each cup was perfect. Got my Legato set-up a couple of days ago and so far not exactly like a good coffeeshop espresso but working on it. thinking about using distilled water only instead of tap, that might be the reason.

    • @carrscoffee
      @carrscoffee 8 месяцев назад

      That's awesome!! No I haven't heard of that machine but I will look it up, I'm curious now. Thanks for that. I do not recommend putting straight distilled water in your machine it's not good for it. It can wear out seals in your machine. You can use distilled water if you add a packet of water treatment like third wave water. What you do is put one packet to a gal. Of water. Look them up. Also what I fo is go to like the grocery store where they have one of those reverse osmosis water machines that refill 5 gal . Jugs. Reverse osmosis water is the best to use on your machine . If you go the third wave water route they have packets for espresso medium roast and ones for you espresso machines. I would use one of those two methods. But not distilled water alone. If you have NY questions please hit me up and I will try and help.

    • @carrscoffee

      I wouldn't put straight tap water in your machine anymore my friend I just read that part again. It will build scale up in your machine. But if you use treated water by third wave or reverse osmosis you will be just fine. I bet that's alot of the issues

    • @carrscoffee
      @carrscoffee 9 месяцев назад

      I appreciate it bro. So this coffee is very fresh and the more fresh your coffee is the better crema your gonna get. THIS is a dark roast and they usually are known for better crema. There really isn't a ratio your shooting for whrn it comes to the crema it just is weight along with the overall ratio of the shot so in this case 18g in and 36 out it's one part coffee two parts water and this can be done with and size basket. So say you have a 22g basket you gonna want about 44gs of yield and so on. I'm a sucker for the crema that's why I love a more traditional espresso. Plus light roast have alot of acidity which my stomach can't take. 😆 😂. I hope this explains what your asking my friend if not shoot me another question. Did you get your setup yet?

      @@bigfanofcomedy1193miicoffee sells the same machine and a few others company's like you say. But I think it's around the same price. I know on Amazon it was 599$ instead of 499$. But definitely check prices. And also don't forget yo check ebay they have good deals on grinders and if you add them to your watch list usually in a day or so they will give you a discount and say or make them a offer. I think you can't go wrong for the money with the legato it's above and beyond on features that mostly you only find on 2,000$ machines . And it's easy to use right out the box. If you buy from miicoffee I think it's a foreign country .Turin is the American based company . But I to would go to whoever had the cheapest at the time I got the legato because Joe is from Missouri I believe.

    Heres an example of what I am talking about. Pretty sure there are plenty of people like me who don't know what to make of these espresso tools and needs. Thats why an "budget espresso" might be a good idea for a channel. ruclips.net/user/shortsFFOJQKa5WQU

    I bet something like "BEST BUDGET ESPRESSO FACE-OFF!" would get a lot of views and help grow your channel if thats what you want and have time for. Many small roasters would love to get that kind of publicity for a few bags of their espresso (if its good LOL).

      @@carrscoffee Ok. thanks will do some research on them. Do you know why grinders are so expensive for such a simple function? is it because the blades to cut grinds are expensive or the motor or what? Not saying $100 isn't a good deal but you can buy a blender for $25. Whats the deal? Maybe that would be a good idea for a video...explaining the function & purpose & design of each part. I don't think I've seen anyone do that from the few coffee videos I've seen. I don't get why those cups with the wood handle that go into the espresso machine are expensive as well to be honest....thanks again though. BTW: I'm not a cheapskate. I'm just trying to figure out why these costs get out of control so quickly when it comes to making a shot of coffee.

      @@bigfanofcomedy1193 It's the burrs .. they have to be precession cut and you have to put the cut in the right place . Those two I mentioned are the only ones I would recommend after all the research I have done at that price range. Also their is the df40 but I think that's 299$ USD. So there isn't very many at that price range that can do espresso. I was gonna buy the baratza but I found the opus at a good price and I don't regret the buy.

    Thanks. Watched a the whole video. Gonna think more about what I might buy after my espresso-making class in a couple of weeks. I bet you could have a pretty successful channel if you geared yourself towards budget-friendly coffee reviews. Those guys also get sent free equipment to review and free bags of coffee too once their channel gets a little bit of momentum. Funny thing is people always talk about the millionaires on youtube, BUT...BUT something that people don't talk about are the likely hundreds of thousands of youtubers who make anywhere between $2000 to $20,000+ a month making videos (from auto-mechanic fixing to product-reviews). If I had an idea I would try to do it just for a little bit of weekend money.

      Thank you for watching the video it gives me new energy to make better videos. I'm thinking your right about finding budget type coffee related videos. I think if you do some research you can find the right setup for you . Good luck and hope you watch more videos in the future!! They do get money aswell I think some get payed for their feedback on machines and grinders on how they. An improve them. I have talked to delonghi about may e getting some of their machines to reveiw. They aren't very pricey and most of us normal people can afford them . So maybe I will have some of their stuff in the future.

      @@carrscoffee yeah. i fell into watching coffee videos because some are really nice to watch. I investigated how someone can afford a Weber coffee-grinder (japanese made and $4000 for the grinder alone) but turns out these youtubers all get their equipment for free as advertising (of course rich people buy that stuff with a click of their mouse after watching these videos without even thinking about the price). Shoulda known, many mountain bike channel youtubers get all their stuff for free...no way normal people are paying $10K for their mountain bike but without the very specific bike advertising how would they know? I guess. to get more viewers you have to really focus on clickbait titles like "How to make expensive espresso for practically nothing!" or "coffee-shops are robbing you!" or something like that. Also you need a good camera set-up and maybe have someone film you. Also something to think about is everyone gets better over time with their videos. Even the best youtubers are horrible if you watch their early videos. Good luck and I will continue watching.

      @@carrscoffee thanks. I am actually going to a espresso seminar in a couple of weeks to learn how to make coffee at home as well as the equipment I'd need. I was going to just buy a Breville but it seems its better have a set-up like you have. I think you have a big market on youtube for your type of home set-up. Its very easy to spend a lot but most people want to get the most value when they make coffee at home. Especially considering the price of coffee and clean-up, etc. EAZY is what most viewers want as nice as it is to view elaborate videos.
