I have an AV 1010 which will not advance. I think the solenoid that moves the cogs together is not working. Any ideas please?

Thanks so much for this. It brought back memories of 50 years ago when we spent the family spent a very happy week there in April of 1974. We had two of the chalets. One for the folks & infant. The other for younger brother & self. The arrangement was full board. Invariably half a grapefruit or corn flakes followed by eggs & bacon for breakfast & perch every evening after soup.in the clubhouse which also contained a bar. Lunch was a braai so we certainly ate well if a little repetitively! All was good until the Thursday when a fellow holiday maker (also working in Chingola) did not heed the stern warnings from Mein Host about swimming too far out of the bay (as seen at 9 minutes) & a croc got the luckless Mr. Wolstenholme (I remember this as it was the same moniker as the late soccer commentator). My Dad had to run back to the Clubhouse through the bush to tell them what had happened. No mean feat when you think of the profusion of roaming hungry animals back then. The rest of the time there was a bit of a blur due to what had happened. What triggered this recall was another RUclips on the now ransacked resort. Africa wins again.....

Awesome, thank you! I dug up the old VHS recorder with some tapes and tested it out, only to watch how it spitted it out with the tape still outside of the shell... I opened it up, and took a closer look at what was wrong. After watching your video, I now know that the two tape guides that are supposed to wrap the tape around the big spinning round video grabber thing, were not doing anything at all. Going to see if I can fix it tomorrow... Thanks for this video! This was exactly the information I needed.

Thanks. Superb quality transfer. I have a copy of the same film and that also seems a bit, shall we say, soft focus on projection. For what it's worth I would hazard an informed guess that this film is from 1963.

Hey I have a question, do you know how to fix VCRs? When I insert in a VHS my VCR turns off. When i turn it back on it spits out the tape but the film is snagged. Upon examination the belt on the right side stops working.
