Void Linux BSPWM Rice | Polybar | Powerline
I like VOID Linux it's such a great distro with faster init system and it is more minimal than Arch :D.

Nice video! May I ask how did you get that Powerline aspect in polybar? I don't find an explanation in the dotfiles
I have a question when I put the polybar it does not appear with arrows and the rounded one of rofi has a black background
Really comfy! Job well done.
Cool desktop, this is my response.
mito
"More minimal than Arch" excuse me, Whazefak?
Heil Linux
The background is nice, a question how did you put so that you get the use of the cpu and ram memory on the desktop?
that's probably polybar
I like it.🎉🎉
By the way, **If you can't find /usr/share/doc/bspwm it will be in /usr/share/doc/packages/bspwm**
what icon theme are you using?
Sick man i going to copy this installing void
how adding "took" in your shell
Nice man
can you share the final polybar config please?
Don’t work😡
4:01 you edited xinitrc and there is a thing like xfce-polkit. Im using fedora and my de is gnome so how can i find my polkit ?
I just use lxpolkit with all wms because for me others just don't work outside of their environment.
I have problem with polkit in Void. I also use lxpolkit but in file manager I can't mount my other drives. In Arch I dont have this problem. Is there some runit service which I should enable. Dbus is enabled is there anything else? File manager is Pcmanfm
bro fedora mein bspwm install krke customize kese kare
umm like this just refresh the mirrors first sudo dnf -y install bspwm
Thank you!
But why this is using too much ram
Looks good, i like it
Nice setup!! Can i get your wallpaper ?
Does this work on Mac??
nope
Wutt
what is your desktop environment?
Actually its a window manager, the one I used in the video is bspwm.
Hey how you resize windows with drag ?
With super key and mouse
Looks great dude...
what audio player and visualizer r u using?
I am using ncmpcpp as music player and cava as visualizer.
@@primalkz Thank you!
nice bro!
What font are you using? Looks like some form of Iosevka. Great rice BTW
Iosevka for terminal and bar and roboto condensed for other programs.
@@primalkz thanks
For a second, I thought this was my music playing it was so good
Polybar 😏
ik the bar is a little meh
Can you add a setup or tutorial to your dotfiles? I'm a beginner here, most dotfiles don't provide a guide on how to install it. I have tried various dotfiles which don't have installation guide but most of them have error or some display not showing. I think there is still something to install or configure besides USED STUFF or other.
Most of the dotfiles that have a installation guide using arch, I'm trying to move to void. It would be very helpful if experienced people help beginners.
Would you be kind enough to tell me how to configure the polybar on various monitors, I have looked for information about it but what I find does not work for me, I am new to linux and I really like your config. Thanks
first you need to find out your displays xrandr -q | grep -w connected then you have to add another [bar/bar2] with monitor=DISPLAY_NAME (whatever name it shows in the xrandr output) module line in the config for the other monitor. Next you need to add this line in launch script polybar bar2 -c PATH_TO_CONFIG that should should work.
@@primalkz Thank you very much really, I had been trying for a week to make it work and it was not working, really thank you very much.
@@h0id_ No problem. ☺
Can i try this in mint os bootable usb?
it should work if you have installed the required packages
It's cool man
thanks
Hi, what xfce (or gtk) theme did you have in that video? I really liked this clean and modern xfce look)
it was this one www.gnome-look.org/p/1334194
@@primalkz thanks
@@primalkz And a few more questions, do you have Google Product Sans text in your window headers? And how to make xfce scale the same size as yours, I have all the icons and window headers a bit smaller, and the settings only have the option to make it even smaller. And lastly, how do I set up the xfce-panel like yours so that the desktops are in numbers, the wifi icons and pulseaudio module are as minimalistic as yours. Thanks in advance!
@@piotrekmilan yes I am using google sans display font for window title and same for other area. You can try adjusting dpi in xfce font settings I haven't done any other stuff for scaling. for numbers in workspace applet you can add default workspace applet and edit it to disable window previews and then just change workspace names to numbers.
