What pin size are you using?
It's serious stuff, I only use this now and portec fir porcelain slabs. I'd be nervy trying it for the first time on a hot day though for any newbies. I probably wouldn't advise actually!
How would you approach this on a steep slope?
Great video intelligent guy explaining properly and simply how to do a job properly
Clear and to the point. Unlike this overly produced American shite
Nice! Do you mind sharing where did you source those valves?
Actually I found them on miss artisan. Looks like you used the non threaded version where copper pipe gets compressed in?
Did you whacker plate the type 1, are you are sure about scraping your level and scratching the slabs?
I've laid my first setts (setts/cobbles? everyone seems to disagree which is which!) after watching your videos, Flowpoint should arrive today, wish me luck!
Very helpful thank you lads!
Thank you Jude. You have nailed this one
Thank you for this excellent educational video. I learned a great deal.
Talk some shit bro
Great video. I also use the three raised mix pads for the sleepers. Dont concrete the whole length. One added detail i use is to hide the visible screws on the ends by using wooden dowl. Bore a hole 21 or 25mm wide tona depth of about 5cm, insert the wooden screw fix into the sleeper. Then slide in a piece of dowl the same width size of the hole. Any extra length of dowl just cut off. It makes a good effect and looks traditional.
Great video and very informative and clear.
what if neighbours decides to change fence panels?
i want to do but i think the neighbour will be jealous and also wants
Hi that’s a brilliant job looks great is it second fix nailer your using?
Thank you! Yes a 2nd fix nailer. We use either 18 or 16g brads
Hi, this was really helpful. Osmo recommend that UV oil is for vertical applications only.. doors etc, did you consider this?
Thanks for this informative tutorial, I used it to lay my first four rows of cobbles in my tiny little garden. It took me a bit time to get the mix to right consistency (not using cement mixer). I just wanted to ask you, can that slurry flow point be used for sand stone pieces, I mean not cobbles, stone 600x300. Many thanks, learned great deal, cheers, Denin.
How do you attach the second row? Is there a over hang on the joins? How do you cut sleepers?
Well balanced of show and explain How To video 👍
After you lay the cobbles down how long do wait till applying the flow point?
Love the Hutt City T Shirt. I know exactly where that came from, great channel.
Thank you! I'm back in NZ now.. Near Takaka this time 👌⚒️
@@Matipolandscaping very good. I'm Wellington based and soaking up your ideas. Cheers.
Why didnt you pressure treated for the wall battens and why didnt you membrane behind the battens?
Great video thank you.
Great video! What size concrete screws did you use? As I know the concrete posts crack/blow easily? Also how many did you use per post? Thanks!
Do I need to add sbr to the mortar mix? And how much water roughly for the mix to get the consistency right?
What’s the labour cost per square meter for laying sandstone setts?
Do you think this would be good for paving slabs?
Fantastic vid guys. Thank you
What happened to the content guys not seen any new stuff
I've moved to New Zealand.. started work building a cabin.. I'll get some landscaping stuff up eventually.. @georgeandtash is the new channel..
@@Matipolandscaping All the best on your move across the world
Nice straight line 😂
Hi, how deep is the gravel base, also what kind/size? I'm having a hard time finding consistent answers. Thanks!
The sub base is constructed using MOT Type 1. It should be at least 4 inches thick, the sub base should be constructed in layers (3 or 4 layers) and each layer compacted using a vibrating plate. The number of passes required with the vibrating plate depends on the vibrating plate, and the MOT Type 1 should be doused with water before compacting. The sub base should either extend slightly beyond the footprint of the paved area or the sub base should be restrained by something solid and inorganic, so as the restraining material will not rot.
Tidy man
First time I've watched you Guys , you have inspired me - I HATE my long feather edge fencing at the side of my house , this is exactly what i need to cover up the ugly fence ( is in great condition though ) - saw you did that also . THANK YOU SO MUCH , i will keep watching you ...
What wood have you used for the slats?
Loverly job again 👍 ,will they be flowpointed???
Thank you! Yep, always 👌
First timers, don't be tempted to do it on a hot day. It goes off too quick and you hardly have time to get it out of the bucket. The timing of washing it off is critical. It helps if theres two of you as it sets quickly ( at 20c ) A paddle mixer that fits onto an electric drill worked for me but only just up to the job. If you damp it down whilst working it, it can lead to a weaker mix and lighter colour. I'm a diy er and although my last attempt was better, (on a cooler day), it's a risky job for a novice.
I have a row of 6 setts to do at the front of the entrance to the driveway and was wondering about pointing setts. I havent done flowpoint but thought best way so i arrived here. Looks like a fairly straightforward process but i know what im like at concreting rushing around like a blue arsed fly so can imagine ill be panicking when applying flow point. Ill be doing it though. Great informative video. Thanks
I wish they show more of the stone work instead of focusing their faces. I have to rewind and freeze to see how it’s made.
Lots of talking and not a lot of doing. That said the work is excellent when you do see it
what is the primer you use to bond the stone to concrete?
This is why we should never employee foreigners😂😂😂
Love this! You guys are best of British, working hard and doing great stuff. Great video, I'll use this to edge my lawn at a castle in Buckinghamshire. Thanks!
Use the white side of the mallet it will reduce the risk of the slabs cracking
Hi, very nice work. What depth sub base do you go for on a driveway like this? Thanks
How do you fit the bottom frame? Do you just screw in at an angle?
Has anyone ever told you you sound like Andrew Garfield?
seems expensive, is it possible to get the battens cheaply?
What depth sub base would you recommend on a driveway? Thanks
🥲. 🤣🤣
Thank you ❤️
