The problem with Parrotit is that it's very buggy and lacks community support. Tried to install it twice alongside Kali and Ubuntu. Disappeared in GRUB once, bricked it the 2nd time. Installed it as stand-alone, and the Menu toolbar disappeared. Reached out for help, and nobody could help me figure it out. Every issue I've run into on Kali and Ubuntu, I know just to drop in on the support group, and its most likely been asked and solved. Otherwise, the community is very knowledgeable and helpful for both

Its not good in virtual machines, but runs fantastic on a real Computer.

I run Zorin on all my pc's even my Mac which is over 11 years old and it runs great, no lagging whatsoever. It runs so well on my main PC that I binned Windows altogether

If it needs 8GB, that’s half my total RAM. Not going to experiment with this as I understand it lags Ubuntu considerably. At some point my machines will go to Linux. Windows has one more year to live max on my main system. Laptop with total of 8GB max may be first to make break.

Can i install gnome on parrot os security?

I've been wanting to get kali and when I told me instructors I had gotten it weeks ago and she told me parrot os is a good distro for pen testing. I recemtly expanded my m.2 storage so as soon as I copied it and reinstalled it I got to excited so I got kali, parrot & ubuntu just for fun.

0 seconds ago Deal breaker for me - there is no wifi support in the iso for installation. What? I have to plug in the ethernet cable to download the Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe wifi driver? Seriously? How many new laptops today has ethernet connector? Yeah, yeah, I know, use usb-c to ethernet adapter. Ubuntu has no such requirement, works as soon as it boots up. Nothing is worth the aggravation.

For pentesting it is good. The tools are kind of the same. Good video.

So have they still abandoned nvidia support in this release? How about bluetooth? I run mint 20.3 (and it is far from perfect) yet still see no reason to "upgrade"... what exactly is better? Even 20.3 has problems. Have there been significant / any positive changes to the kernal? Also, Win10 still has restore points - not sure about 11. So, not sure what you mean that win does not have snapshot function.

I dunno if you do already, but the VM suppose to perform much better with GPU Acceleration enabled. Cheese handles Webcams adjust, apply filters to, etc and an old gnome staple, Brasero also an old gnome staple that let's you copy and write ISOs to CD/DVD's used it back in the day when I still had a DVD-RW drive.

your VR setup is running permissions - slowing things

On start-up Zorin does drive check up which takes 6/7 minutes. It can't be cancelled although Cntr+c pressed several time. This is the reason I don't use Zorin.

Tip: I would be cautious about condoning blackhat hacking even implicitly if you want your videos to stay up. Other than that this was a good video and I agree with your points. And its worth pointing out the fact Kali isn't designed to be used as a daily driver is a feature, not a bug - it's intended to be used in a more ephemeral manner kinda like Tails so that you don't go building up a fingerprint and also so that it's far less likely to be (or at least remain) infected with malware.

I haven't used Parrot OS butit looks kind of cool. Might try it in a months time. Good video Jack!

Ubuntu server is arm based I installed it last night but I can’t figure out how to get the desktop environment.

- Virtualbox beta for M1 Macs (Apple Silicon) was available before but not sure if they cancelled it or still developing !!! - VMWare is very good !!! - UTM is also available for M1 Macs (Arm Architecture) which is free and open source (But maybe less features)- UTM can also run other Architectures such as Windows x64 or Linux x64 (little slow)
