hi, may i know how was the wind noise? and solution you fixed for that or its no wind noise at all?
Great video. Very useful.👌
Just come across your channel mate, I like the way you go about it :)
awsome man for sharing all your videos, i have the same cruiser so very useful, I watched your uhf install and did mine following your guide!
I noticed that you still have rubber mouldings in the roof ditch. Wouldn't water pool in those mounting areas they they can't run off the to the sides of the car when it rains?
No pooling, it runs through and along the gutters. Still going strong
How are these draws holding up
Still working well. We don't require a pram as much anymore so likely to swap out and have one low and one high draw in the future. Possibly the kitchen version if they do a wagon version.
Have you worked on the LC200 2017 onwards? Managed to change the bulbs ?
Thanks for video. Was really helpful. Could you link the tie down you used for the fridge at the end? Cheers,
www.arb.com.au/camping-touring-accessories/tie-downs-cargo-straps/#snippet-107103
My genuine bonnet protector has lanndcruiser printed on it😂
Will this work on my 2013 LC based on the US spec
Yep all the same regardless of country. It's Toyota specific not country specific
Great video. I found low beam lights to provide a blotchy spread of light when setting them to get the right road coverage. Did you experience this?
Great install video! How has the wind noise been with this rack?
Can confirm that re setting the bolt eyelets in the roof if you knock them out is a complete and utter bloody nightmare to re seat. Be patient and careful fellas!!!
Gudday, I'm trying to install my headlight protectors but for the life of me I cant pry up that rubber strip to put the clip under. It seems glued in place and I don't want to force it in case I break it apart. Any tips?
It is glued down. You just need to use a screwdriver or stanley knife to pry it up just for the section you need. I used a nylon flat tool.
@@bordertouring3265 awesome thank you I’ll give it another go, cheers
For those viewers with a Sahara or VX with a sunroof do these racks allow the sunroof to still be opened ?
Seems like the LED is installed in an angle? not 90degrees?
Was your list of required lights ^ just all the exterior lights and interior lights? Not including license plate?
do you have audi grill and bumper?
No standard Toyota
@@bordertouring3265 thanks,where are you?USA?
Australia
As far as the rear dome light replacement goes, you can actually remove the plastic cover and put the bulb in without taking the entire dome assembly out of the headliner. There are two small tabs on the forward side on either side of the switch. With a small screwdriver (carefully) or a thin trim tool you can pop that cover off front to back. Then you don't have to mess with the little metal thing and the bulb seats easier. also, the bulb size is fairly important, so go with what he's telling you on that. Great video for a 200 Series Land Cruiser owner. Thanks!
Hey mate, With the spacers, plates, bolts etc did these come with the 200 series fitting kit- or did you need to use only the components in the standard fitting kit that came with the draws themself Thanks
From memory it was from the standard kit. The 200 series kit only included the wings.
Hi Shaun, thanks for the video. Unfortunately install didn’t go smoothly for me. I had trouble getting wiring through the firewall on the LC200 as access was restricted. Also found the suggestion of running power for the passenger side footwell fuse box didn’t work as access was difficult and when I finally managed to get the new piggy back fuse installed and the earth lead wired to the chassis as you showed I couldn’t get voltage of better than 8V to the radio. I ended up running power from the battery through the firewall directly to the radio and got a good 12+V. Once again getting cables through the firewall was a huge pain. Thanks again thou as the video helped get me started.
Nice tutorial thanks. I wish you had shown where the “fire-wall” access is on the LC200. I’m not confident I know where to piece the firewall?
Basically
Basically?
Would these work on a 2009 land cruiser invincible
Yep easy swap. Try using the Stedi vehicle picker on their website
@@bordertouring3265 thanks for the reply but i think theyre quite expensive arent they
No my set was maybe $300 for every light. That's high, low, reverse, internal, etc. Worth looking into
@@bordertouring3265 ive seen some on ebay but u can never trust their chinese quality these look really good
Good summary, have you looked at the stedi lights that swap out the factory fog lights ? I wonder how good they are.
The stedi fog light upgrade is incredible - great addition
How much brighter would you say these bulbs were compared to original for the headlights? Are they still working well?
They are markedly better, probably 50-100% more light. Mine were terrible to start with. They are fine, no issues so far and I haven't touched them since the install.
Do you get any radio interference with these headlights?
No not at all. I use my lights as daytime running lights now so pretty good all around.
Great Help, thanks. Is there any mod required for the rear air con vent on the left side of the drawers?
Garry, I didn't have to modify anything but depending on your model there is a bracket work around and instructions in the kit
EXCELLENT Mate. Thank you
Hey mate, just wondering if you had hyper flash on your indicators from changing the headlights to LED?
Mat, no. Mine is a 2012 and no issues at all
Thanks mate great video
Brilliant saved me a headache or two 👌👏🤙👍
Great video, mate. You mentioned that you wanted to attach your awning brackets underneath. Is it possible? I don't see where there's space.
Yep I fitted my awning from the top facing down. I used the rhino rack L bracket and also use the iron man quick removal attachment too. Message me on Facebook and I'll send some photos if you like. Just search Border Touring
Steel or aluminum?
Aluminium
Hi, Great video, just finished installing Stedi LED's to reverse, number plate, interior map, and front door lights to my 2015 pre upodate Sahara. Your video explained it all perfectly. Question!! Do you have a video on changing out the 2 lights that are a part of the roof mounted TV monitor? Or give me a hint as to how to do it?? Also the 4 doors have lights at the bottome of the trim, any hints on getting into them to change out the globes?? Thanks in Advance.
Hi Colin, no I don't sorry. Try using a nylon pry tool like what I was using. Every light is accessible the clips just need to be pushed out of the way. Take your time and if it feels like its going to break it probably will. If it breaks it's easy to replace or fix generally. Good luck
@@bordertouring3265 Thanks anyway, I worked out the door trim lights, but the lenses next to the video screen are really tight in the fitting and a perfect fit so no room to get a tool under. Might need to ask at Toyota as a last resort!
Basically...... Bulb fit.
Basically you basically just basically do this. Very basic. Good video though!
Great video! Do you have a link to the lights you got from eBay please? Stedi are still out of stock Cheers
Brodie, they broke within the week. Go for the stedi ones or look for a similar type. Another version but more expensive is light force from memory if you are super keen
Thank you! Good to know! I found some at Jaycar I’ll see how they go. Much appreciated👍
Hi, Can you let me know if the parts used in this video are RFH1045 (2) and 200FK? Anything else used?
Sandu, that's it. Each draw comes with a fitting kit and so too does the wing kit. They end up giving you much more than you actually need so you will have spares.
@@bordertouring3265 thank you for detailed reply
@@bordertouring3265, hi again, could you please advise wherever you also used RFFKADP1045L & RFFKADP1045R?
Sandu, I am not sure. The code sounds like a left and right wing kit but I'm not familiar with it. I used both left and right wings in my install so make sure you have both.
How hot do the heat sinks get? Just concerned of being too hot next to wiring under the bonnet.
I haven't had any issues yet, they have been in the car over 12 months. The idea is to dissipate heat not to transfer it to other nearby wiring. So far so good though
Thanks for the vid, ordering a set for my Fortuner. Congrats on the bub 👍
Hi Shaun, really appreciate the video and everything worked a treat - smooth job all round following basically what you have shown.
Cheers David, thank you for the kind feedback. Hope you enjoy the 200
hey mate. what did that set of draws cost. thanks
Just under $2000. They also wanted $600 to fit so it was a no brainer to fit myself. Quality is the key here for the price. You can go cheaper but they are terrible quality or you can go more expensive and fully customise what you want. I took the most practical route with a new bub and stroller.
Thanks for getting back to me so quick, arb aren't even that quick at replying haha. I have the same colour 200 and are slowly doing similar mods to what you've done. when's the next vid coming out? I really enjoy your content.
Cheers mate, I have a few filmed ATM just need time to edit them. Redarc tow pro install, Merimbula travel vlog, tailgate dampener install, etc. We have an 8 month old at home so it does get hard to get to them. Thank for the kind words, I'll keep at it and we hope you have fun with your 200 build.
that exciting news. looking forward to seeing your vlog of merimbula and the tailgate dampener is defiantly something iv wondered. thanks mate
@@bordertouring3265 do you have the part numbers you used? Thanks
Great video. Was trying to find an installation video for ‘genuine’ Toyota weathershields to do it myself. Have more confidence now installing on my Prado which would be similar to your land cruiser.
Absolutely, I did the ones for my Hilux before the 200 and it's the same too. Good luck
Man I’ve wasted time on this video. Why would you not record the results!? Before and after type of thing. Or maybe even other LED comparisons?
Hey, I wanted to but simply put I don't have the camera gear to compare. I filmed the before and after but it didn't work out. For night filming I need much higher end camera gear. Sorry if it was a waste, this one is an install and after I fully test the gear I will do a review. If your thinking of doing the upgrade do it. It is markedly better.
Great vid. Really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Keep doing your stuff.
🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍👍
Would it still fit inside the garage. Is this gonna be taller than the oem rack?
It is slightly higher than the OEM rails. With a 2 inch lift (OME BP-51) it fits in our 2.2m garage if that helps
Basically a very helpful vlog, basically I will buy a set. Thanks for basically doing this your basically awesome.😁
Any idea if one drawer would allow for one half of the third row seat to still fold up and remain functional? I need one seat to still be useable, three kids.
I've seen photos of this being done. Your ARB dealer will confirm though. Check out the 200 series Facebook page I'm sure I've seen one with just one side of the drawers in and the chairs down.
