Worst company to work for. More bureaucratic than the US Government. Teams can't get work done. No critical thinking allowed: just want people to "check the checkbox". Worst: Accenture openly avoids hiring OnShore personnel to keep costs low (aka: hiring out "slaves" in India, Asia, and Mexico). If your from the US, don't bother applying.

I worked at cvs your overworked, I was only hired as a man to lift stuff, said by my manager. They cut hours with no warning. It was a popularity contest to get hours. Everyone was miserable and unfairly treated. Nothing ever fully gets finished on time because of the impossible standards. Customers treat you like crap because of our exhausted mood. Almost everything in the store is expired because we simply don’t have the time to check. I can keep going never work there unless you hate yourself

IBM is a company to work at for 1-2 years as a stop gap and nothing more. Definitely a sinking ship and I could see that 15-20 years ago when I worked there. When I left in 2009 they deemed my junior colleagues who were on $50k to be 'professional' and therefore any out of hours work and oncall was to be unpaid and there was a lot of work. Even back then just penny pinching - I remember a bunch of employees won a court case for unpaid overtime, the next week after the decision IBM cut their salaries by 20% to be in line with market averages or some BS like that. If you work in the out sourcing arm it's even worse...I know an engineer who had no raise (not even inflation) for 13 years before they laid him off. Kind of his own fault for staying so long but he was one of those proud guys who'd say "I'm an IBMer!". For those (in the west) who think IBM is a decent company, go and work for someone else and you'll see how badly you're treated and paid. Every person from every division (sales, R&D, outsourcing, AI etc.) are paid worse than tech and non tech companies.

I worked there in the late 70's. IBM is a Patriarch. You have to know the right people and have the right look in order to succeed there. Female managers that I was aware of were promoted by a male that made them their flying monkey. Majority of the females were masculine, angry and mean. I hated it there I lasted 10 years and quit. Found a better company to work for. Come 1996 the majority of the people I worked with where laid off. I was gainfully employed also working in Europe. The company has declined over the years. It got what it deserved.

My nephew has been with IBM for 20 years and seems to be doing very good financially. He’s now director of software development. Is this a middle or upper management ? I’m thinking that this is some type of management position? After years of working in the corporate world myself I see corporate managers as nothing but narcissists and psychopaths. And that is who make it into management. Even if you weren’t one how could one stand working with these types? Am I right? Could my nephew be one? Please respond anyone who knows IBM and their positions!

They will hire literally anyone because they're so desperate for employees. They hire teenagers who sit in the bathroom all day on their cellphone. One time, they hired a kid who stole $10,000 from them in his first two weeks lol! We laughed our a**es off and wished we could have gotten a cut of what he stole to compensate us for the unlivable wage we were paid.

Do not work for this company!!!! It's called "Tarsh*t" for a reason, folks! "Management" doesn't deserve to be called that. No managing skills at all. They're all outside hires who have no idea what they're doing because no one stays long enough to promote them. Most of them quit within a week. One year, they gave a bunch of hardworking employees "yearly raises" of 8 pennies, and we all just quit.

Not sure what you are talking about when you say "surviving". They own almost everything. In 2023, the main stream media is still afraid to tell the truth about Donald Trump, even though he is 4 times indicted with 91 fellony counts. Unless a law is passed that prevents the press from spreading misinformation, the white elite will always try to control the narrative to their advantage with disastrous consequences. I don't see that change anytime soon.

You skip too fast (less than half a second transition). It is important to know what the role of the person was in the organization, before reading the comments. I say this after watching at least 5 videos... and I am surprized that there does not seem to be a Microsoft video. Yet I landed on this channel after looking for IBM.

why you submit this based on a handful of obviously grumpy people is irresponsible. also, you point out past accomplishments. you are missing quite a few. more importantly you fail to say that today IBM is in IT leadership or highly competitive re: AI, quantum machines and technology, advanced chip technology including photonics and the N1 transistor, binary cloud (even though it was late to this segment), IBM has large, classical mainframes within the top five or six machines in the world (mainframes service needs in certain market segments and needs, and are not going away any time soon), IBM is well advanced in the server and networking arenas, it has all kinds of software offerings. it has 3000 researchers across the World. i could go on regards technology. add that it is still a trusted IT partner in the enterprise arena across +/-160 countries. we don't do retail for good reasons.. it works openly with companies, universities, researchers doing advanced work to serve mankind and the planet. it is highly engaged in consulting in many industries, services and education. an IBM strength has long been the breath and compatibility of its offerings. some media stars make self serving IT claims, but none can do all that IBM is capable of across IT. few people understand that IBM has come a long way back. many financial analysts are seeing that. IBM has been severely criticized, and with some good reasons, for being too permissive with employees, too slow to market and unbearable overheads. these are being managed better. and what real chaos would have ensued if IBM had failed to layoff and close old facilities (under Gerstner). however, i hope IBM has not lost its respect for employees, customers and the communities we operate in. if it keeps these foundational concepts it will be around for along time.

I won an award for saving the company a bunch of money on lumber shipping, unfortunately HD hired a new manager at my store, they had to give me the award, they instantly did not like me, they hired an ASM who'd never been with HD (just some rando) who instantly made it clear I was on thin ice to be fired (literally the first time I met them, I had to help them fix door they broke between the main rental shop and the lumber aisle, all I said to them was "Okay" when asked to fix it and I did fix it) They asked me if I wanted to be a supervisor for a 3rd position (I was already a supervisor for 2 dept) I asked for 18/hr 8 times during negotiations and they said no each time so I said I was stepping down and switching stores to work for my friend with less responsibility. With 3 days left 5 years into working at the same store I did a U-turn on a Sunday when the store was closed and hit a beam, it did no dmg to the forklift, it scratched a cantilever and left a dent smaller than a fist, I was a safety walker and can tell you there was no structural integrity issues, They used this to fire me the next day. MY first accident reported in 5 yrs, hurting no one, dmg less than 50$, FIRED. I had to fight it with an HR I knew from a different store and they got me found "Wrongly fired" then HD just let me go anyway. I had 2 other ideas which were up for award, I was in contact with HQ and they said they would hire me as a consultant at 200/hr to work through my projects, then they let go the person who hired me for that and didn't pay me. A decade later I see my idea in the news about how it's saving them millions (Not rounding timeclock by 15min, I had also suggested biometric scanners but they didn't bother with that side, which is sad because I worked in a factory after that had one and it was soooooo fast, much better than pin code punch in) My other idea of the two arguably saves them much more (Removing bolts that rip product in everybay and switch to clips or literally nothing because they weren't structural bolts, they hold a wedge) Really sucked being made homeless with dental pain because I tried to do a good job. I was employee of the month twice, I work a black apron as a superuser, I paid for my own university to be good at what I do. Everytime I tried to get them to cover school, dental, vision care; they always found a way to weasle out of it and I was stuck on the doll,. I was even stuck on the doll get a business license (300$) to be a consultant and then they never paid me. I think they are a fairly thin skin company and up until they invented MYapron_Inbox forums it was completely soulless and devoid of interaction with HQ. They straight up would rather kill 100,000 extra trees a year and lost millions of dollars than listen to someone who works for them telling them how to fix the problem(or at least that's how it was until My apron) Now they just take million dollar ideas and give ppl a piece of paper award and 50$ or a weekend trip worth less than 1000$. My contemporary saved them 3 mil cash in hand from a blinds fix and they got the grifted like I did. Real suck energy. I found out they were funding the GOP (I didn't think they funded anyone when I worked there) and then they were anti-mask during the pandemic, crazy, literally a place where you sell and wear masks on the constant. I spit whenever I see an orange box. They did donate 125mil to homelessness but I have no clue if that's just a tax right off for rich jerks or if it's an actual thing that helps people, my teeth hurt for too long so I'm not going to go to bat for them on very much. They do somethings good, but a lot of soulless business ppl are a constant if you work there.

Your opinions were either ignored or you were put on a watch list. Micro-managed. Unrealistic goals. Benefits cut. Constant intimidation.
