2000 Honda Accord 2.3L Head Gasket/Cylinder Head Removing DIY
I have a 2000 honda accord coupe and I want to install a GPS and backup camera what type of device should I buy
Thank you ❤
Watching a video on how to do this because I did it without watching a video and the gasket got knocked out of place when I put the cover back then I didn't notice till I was done and it was spewing oil everywhere 💀 taking it apart again tmr 😅
Thank you for not cutting every thing out of the video and skipping around
6:24 the hose on my '08 started to crumble just from me coming near it with a screwdriver. so i instead used a 22mm (or 7/8") wrench to remove the PCV from the rocker cover with the hose still attached. easy. pinch the hose lightly with some pliers to stop it from twising off since it's likely "frozen" to the PCV output stem.
That hose is like 7 bucks at Toyota. Get regular worm clamps for it. Much better
@@elcoronacartel yeah, agree. good to know!
Great video Boys, Well done. I'm about to do mine soon. Just a small brotherly reminder, u don't use red RTV all arround gasket mating surface when you use this types of gasket. Thats all
Great video, not time to go install...
Did you Pry the back to give enough tension on the belt?
i like watching different videos before i start doing my work so i can see what to do and what not to do. I recommend doing the same.
That's great build bro, will definitely try it out
Goodluck
Nah this shit be to loud
Love how the 4 cylinder is Notorious for blowing head gaskets but 0 videos of someone replacing it fucking amazing
Awesome brother 👍👍👍
Any recommendation what will be reasonable cost to replace head gas kit for 2006 Camry in Los Angeles area?
Valve cover gasket is cheap and a better option to rtv. Rtv will leave a mess for next time just a bad choice in my opinion.
Hi what is the best torq for the bolts
Me gustaria oirlo en español
Who tf is so stupid they can’t replace a valve cover gasket. Do a head gasket video or something people actually have trouble with. 🖕
Brilliant, thank you!
if they brake taking them out they're not in good condition
Oye ese carro no trae gias de cabeza por que desarme uno y no las traia
I did everything except use rtv. I went with the valve cover gasket from autozone. Thanks for the help It was easier for to take off the left hose from the bottom and just keep it on the cover!
What is the part number you used?
Guys please don't reuse those head bolts unless they are head studs. The head bolts are torque to yield (stretch bolts).
Thats not a Winchester 1873 but sure appears to shoot well for such a classic
I'm sure you found out that cluster doesn't fully work as honda changed things after a few years like your temp and fuel gauge not working properly I believe is the two biggest issues
What motor you have 4 or 6? What exhaust muffler do you have on it sounded good
Can you show this replacing head gasket
star wars r2d2 design bro
What are torque specs?
8 pounds outer bolt 10 pounds inner bolts (2)
Hi dear I have Camry 2007 it's always dry water from radiator what is the problem there is no leak can you tell me
Nice
great video. Thanks!
Great job on the install, it helped alot
Good video presentation! Having the camera mounted under the hood provides STABLE VIEWING for us.
Excellent! Thank you for this👍 My girlfriends Camry started running rough, pulled the plugs to find two on the left oily. Noted the same oil leak at the gasket also on the left. Picking up a gasket ASAP, I want my suburban back she helped herself to. Lol
Bro this video was perfect, thank you so much!
so im guessing the intake side is on the front and the exhaust valves are on the back
Other way around
Thank-you for posting this info. Just now need to clean my manifold and the info was helpful.
You dont want to use silicone. Thats why you buy a new gasket . No silicone needed brutal
You need to put some silicone where the the timing chain cover butts up to the block.
Thank you for your help

My 08 camry got oil in two of the spark plug wells. Its the ones on the drivers side. My question is can it just be a gasket problem or do I need to change the actual valve cover itself. It looks like one of the wells might have a hole in the metal that's above my spark plug. So I'm wondering if I should order a new valve cover ( not just the gasket). They cost around $50 on ebay. I never experienced this problem before with a vehicle and I was shocked to find oil there. So I really don't know what to do lol.. my car is also super super super hard on oil. Thanks for any advice
I personally think if the valve cover does not have any damage on the edges then it could just be the gasket. Same problem with my 07 camry. I am going to change the gasket first as it is the least expensive and it has been a while since the gasket was changed.
These guys 😂🤣🤣😂come on hurry up
Will definitely damage catalytic converters that’s the part I really hate
My catalytic converter went first for me then the gasket

@@davidquiroz9789 damn a catalytic converter lasting that long i thought would be like at 150,000 miles mines Japan made 07 LE model but u have the 4 cylinder right? And also what oil do you use
Would this help with the engine oil burning issue this camry's are known for?
No. That's the piston rings.
Definitely will help if you see that it's leaking, ALSO, replace the PCV valve which is another main reason for burning oil, recommended for 30K miles but many people don't think of it and the part is less than $20.
@@karkule5919 thanks for the pcv valve tip!
No, the rings are trash.
Nice video, i am ready...
nice bro
Great Video! Few suggestions 1. Use magnetic socket driver so you don't drop screws!(experience speaks :) ) 2. Old plastic clips on coil packs break easy. If it happens make sure you reconnect them firmly. 3. Same with coil pack bolts don't try to force them lose. One on my car snapped causing big headache to fix it :) 4. RTV only needs to be applied in two spots near chain cover side joint. 5. ignition wire harness as well as wire harness on chain side can be pulled back out of the way with elastic ties so you can remove / install cover by yourself. 6. torque 10 ft lbs on two center bolts, 8 ft lbs on peripheral bolts and two nuts, 7. in some cases two Wire harness on chain side has plastic clips that slide off from their mounts this saves time and makes removal/ installation easier.
Great comments, especially about the RTV! What's the point of the gasket if you're just going to paint the whole with with RTV? Only need a dab at the chain area, if any at all. I would also add that you should not torque the bolts all the way at once, but work your way out at 5-6 ft-lbs and then go back to finish them to spec.
Great advice. I was thought to tighten the same way little by little. And then torque them down. The same way
