I concur with the others... I too prefer the longer reviews. Your talking points delve into the nature of the instrument, its tonal characteristics, its background, history, woods, feel and most importantly (and perhaps most subjective)... its essence. This is invaluable for the player/potential buyer. By contrast, some guitar demos by other vendors leave me with little to no idea as to the character of the instrument. I mean... the whole purpose is to familiarize the player with what each instrument has to offer, right? You do a super job at telling each guitar's story from the point of view of a masterful player, artist, and lover of instruments.

I love how mindful you are as you describe your guitars for those of us who can't see. It is so kind of you. I'm not a double top enthusiast but this one is quite intriguing with its old braz, and so nice sounding... cool stuff.

Audio was better this week, but still a weird phasing issue where the sound was doubled/echo-y. Will be even better week 3 with that issue solved. Sorry about that!

Thanks for the stream. Great to see you talk about the Connor - I just snuck in to a get a new one in a few months which is very exciting. Also I think Stephens double tops are still lattice braced - have a look through the sound port! Re your question of pitch, often I find which is better can in part be determined by the repertoire you're playing. Sometimes baroque stuff like Bach just sounds better at 415 or even 392. But some modern atonal stuff doesn't sound as good if your guitar has a tendency to be a little dark n' muddy.

I enjoyed this - although I am not watching it live - but the audio quality was not great I am afraid. Sometimes the audio will sound muffled, like with a blanket on top of the instrument. But please don't be discouraged, keep them coming!

A note: at like 3:39 the software might be “de noising” the sustain of the guitar, basically sounds like a gate is activating and muting you

Evan, this is truly nice, I'm very happy you're doing it. The biggest problem for me was I didn't know this was happening. I opened RUclips, and I saw it, but I didn't get a notification. Otherwise, I would've joined you when it was happening live.

Beautiful video as always. Although the low end is lovely in 415 tuning, I prefer the trebles in 440, much crisper and more lively. I wish I could afford your guitars 🙁

Beautiful guitar, excellent playing, and very detailed presentation as usual. That helps a great deal; the nice descriptions. While the sound is wonderful, when I compare it to actual Torres guitar recordings, it is a beautiful sound, but I don't think of Torres when I hear it. Even though the dimensions and the construction and all that are right, the sound just isn't Torres. I don't mean that as a knock on Montero. The guitar sounds nice, but hardly anyone has been able to recreate the Torres sound, frankly it isn't even close with any of the makers whose Torres replicas I've heard.

As it should be, neither more nor less. I think it is due to the body dimensions.this is a typical torres

Of all your guitars, this Daniel Friedrich sounds the most like you, Evan. The guitar has a classic, sweet, open and mysterious sound. Not the loudest guitar (as are modern double tops), but responsive and absolutely lovely. What it lacks in huge volume, it clearly makes up for in balance and rich, traditional sound. This guitar, along with your playing, draws the listener in. Gorgeous instrument! I only wish I could afford to buy it!
