    明けましておめでとうございます! 今年も楽しみにしています! Crazy game! Sato-san said 'I am going to create a castle in the center of the board" xD What exactly are special rules for the "Kings entering the opponents camp" - game and when do they apply? Every major piece is worth five points, all the other just one? Do all the pieces count (on board + off board)? Each King has to be in opponents camp? Do the players have to agree or can you continue to play as long as one player thinks he can checkmate? Itodani-san & Sato-san decided they are going to have the best match of the year right away x) Analyzing this game is great for learning! Thanks for the video, Oya-san! Great analysis as always! Actually, should I address you as Taku-san or Oya-san? :)))))

      明けましておめでとうございます!こちらこそ今年もよろしくお願いします。 Thanks for asking questions about draw game rules. I think it’s better to check wiki to know it correctly. The 1st question’s answer is not on wiki and no one knows it even if you are playing the game. I think the timing would be when both players think it’s almost impossible to catch opponent king. However if one player has great advantage at the timing, he doesn’t give up the game as draw. This point would make drama and exciting always. About my name, please call me Taku. Because I am called Taku from Europe friends.

    • @shogiramentv64
      @shogiramentv64 Месяц назад

      Don’t worry about it because shogi is really difficult game. About the even game, understanding the position is also difficult. It looks bad for Sente because his rook captured however Sente’s area is strong against Rook. Actually there are no space to drop a rook if Gote gets it. So losing a rook is not a big problem in this situation. In addition if Gote took the rook, then Sente’s silver will take opponent’s gold and move forward to nice position for later attack. That’s why in total the position is even.

Actually I’m using the most famous one Suisho5. My recommendation to use shogi engine is to find better moves or big mistakes when you have questions about the position in your real games or professional games. Of course you can use engine to find the best shogi opening. But it will be too messy and not so interesting.

    ‏‪1:23‬‏ what if sente promote the rook in 23 or drop a pawn there instead of capturing pawn?

    • @shogiramentv64
      @shogiramentv64 2 месяца назад

      Thanks for asking! If rook promoted at 23, then gote can promote his pawn and get your bishop by pawn. Getting a bishop is better than promoting rook. If Sente drops pawn at 23, gote can promote a pawn. After that Sente can take a bishop before gote, but there are no good continuing attacks from Sente because Sente has no more pawns. However gote has more pawns then gote can continue attacking after taking bishop.

    So, to sum up the video: It is ok if yoou don't understand the moves in Kakugawari AND the humans are far below AI so they will be continuing playing Kakugawari anyway. Honeatly, I NEVER understand these type of moves where the players just move their pieces (mostly the king) just back and forth. It defines my entire logic why I should just do nothing and let my opponent improve their position for free xD Great video as always, Oya-san

    • @shogiramentv64

      Yes, it’s really no problem for amateur players. I guess only pro or almost pro level of amateur knows details and tries to remember all of strange moves to win. As I showed in this video, I tried to understand the crazy moves of king but it was really difficult and honestly I couldn’t have confidence about only move of K68 -> K69. I couldn’t understand the meanings of Kakugawari joseki but I could remember the main part of steps so I can enjoy Kakugawari games than other people 🤓

  • @Saintmadman
    @Saintmadman 2 месяца назад

    Oya-san, great video! I have a couple of questions - 'Rikisen' means just all uncategorized strategies? - could you explain again why in Gangi there is 53% winrate for sente and for gote? - what is Chosoku? Do you have a video on it? You're the best, keep posting videos, much love

    • @shogiramentv64
      @shogiramentv64 2 месяца назад

      Thanks for asking questions! - Rikisen is written in Japanese 力戦. This means strength plus battle as Kanji. And its meaning is you need to play without knowledge of fixed joseki, book. For example, in the beginning if both players created promoted bishop, the game would be out of joseki and they have to play their own thinking. If new players are playing without enough knowledge of shogi, then the game would be always Rikisen:) - Gangi games include not only Gangi vs Gangi but also Gangi vs others like Yagura, Mino. So I needed to count Sente’s Gangi and Gote’s Gangi separately. Kakugawari and Aigakari are always symmetric so it’s easy but Gangi is different. It’s same as Furibisha cases. - Chosoku is the most popular counter measure against Nakabisha. Chosoku is written as 超速 in Kanji. It means super high speed:) the meaning in shogi is super high speed attack of silver. Yes, there are videos. It’s just an example. ruclips.net/video/9TiFLZ0mpVU/видео.htmlsi=tVNtpHYW4eHGzSWb

    Thank you for your input :) also, it is interesting to note the difference between class A and B1 players on one hand, with only 1 furibihsa player, 2 all rounders, and all the others playing ibisha only, and on the other hand B2 and lower play more furibisha even if ibisha still is most played. 😃

    • @shogiramentv64
      @shogiramentv64 2 месяца назад

      And also female players are more furibisha than male players. It looks the lower level players like Furibisha than higher level players. I think this would be from the difficulty of Ibisha, especially in 10 years. Furibisha is easy to create his castle and attack/defense formation but Ibisha is always difficult to judge creating castle or starting attack. I think that’s why new players and lower level players would prefer Furibisha. One day if the special player like Oyama appeared again, the shogi world could change 😁

    The opening is more complicated than your presentation. But, you do discuss several options. I feel that Gangi is very flexible and can be used with many opening sequences. There are also some other things like irregular Bishop Exchange sequences (probably not seen by pros now but you saw them in the 1980s & 1990s) and a sort of reverse Bishop Exchange openings (and cases where the player can reject the bishop exchange and just convert to a Gangi opening).

      Thanks for the comment. Yes, you are right. The opening is more complicated. I was just going to make it simple for the new players. Because shogi itself is enough complicated and hard to study especially for non japanese people. And yes, Gangi is useful and becoming popular strategy. In fact, the number of Gangi games were bigger than Yagura in this year. Gangi is really flexible as you said, and shogi engine prefer it than strong castle.

    Thank you for the explanation!! At my level I've tried it, but after the first moves, all gets confuse and messy for me (a low kyu player). Could this strategy be a way to have sennichite for pro players who aren't confident playing as sente/gote?

    • @shogiramentv64
      @shogiramentv64 3 месяца назад

      Thanks for the comment! Don’t worry. Understanding level is same as mine. The steps are really messy. About sennichite, Takumi Ito found a way to sennichite against Sota Fujii and Ito succeeded it as gote. Ito achieved an award of the sennichite joseki. Of course sente can avoid it after this game. But there could be another sennichite. Conclusion point of view, shogi engine already found it as sente 100% win. So until human beings reach the conclusion, there could be sennichite.

      @@shogiramentv64 I think that is really the goal of gote in Kakugawari. I think gote hopes to get sennichite, so that the game has to be replayed with sente and gote reversed.

      I don’t like sennichite even if I am gote. But for professional players they have to win or draw as a job. So yes, I agree with the goal of gote. In other strategies I haven’t seen the similar situation like Kakugawari. Probably it would be just from that professional players have not studied deeply yet.

      @@shogiramentv64 😆don't worry! As far I understand, Fujii-san made that move to bait his opponent into attacking early. It was not the best move, but it worked as intended.

    Very interesting. I think I don't understand. You imply that professional players have to remember about 70 moves of joseki instead of 40, correct? Then why do you see players thinking for an hour or more early in the game? Don't they remember the joseki? Did the game deviate from the joseki? But that would mean that gote or sente did not play the joseki. Questions over questions :)

    • @shogiramentv64

      Thanks for watching! If the professional player wants to play the joseki, yes he has to remember 70 moves. But 70 moves including too many branches, so it would be impossible for normal professional players. I guess only top pro like Fujii-san, Ito-san, Nagase-san could do. Once they agreed to play the joseki then 70 moves will pass in only few minutes. If someone spends more time, then he would want to deviate from the joseki or probably he forgot some details of branches and needed to examine them by his brain. About the number of moves in joseki, even if just each move has only 3 branches, the number would be 3 power to 70. Too many moves indeed xD

    Great game! Can you explain why gote captures the silver on move 78? Can't he just ignore it and drop B'37, for example after Sx65 Bx26 P'64 S72 P'74, is the attack strong enough to compensate for a rook?

    • @shogiramentv64
      @shogiramentv64 3 месяца назад

      Thanks for watching! Your understanding is correct. Dropping bishop and getting rook is a bit slow against Anaguma. I was thinking another option about S64 instead of capturing silver. Even gote did the defense, sente still will attack by Sx65. Steps will be S64, Sx65, Sx65, S66, P’64, Sx65, Px65, S’53. This is one example. So even if gote choose more defensive way, sente can attack by sacrificing silvers. After these comparisons, I think gote chose just capturing silver.

    You should make a video explaining why was that better than just running the king right away

      @@jesusalbertogiraldomendoza9960 rather why was it better than moving bishop to B-46, because immediately running away of course gives a free pawn to gote and that's not good.

      @@shogiramentv64 that it is surprising, that I definitely agree with 🙂 thank you for the link! Now I understand that it is also defending against possible bishop drop by gote to B*54 square. That makes it a bit easier to understand the move 🙂

      My current best answer to K86 is to avoid B*98. If the turn is gote, gote could do P89+, Rx, Lx95, Lx, B*98. This bishop forks King and Rook, if king is at 76. So that’s why king needed to move.
