Happy Cows Frolicking in a Field
I was invited to the inaugural Spring Frolic at the the van Nes Family Farm in Brussels, Ontario by the team at St. Brigid's Creamery - about an hour from where I currently live in Kitchener, Ontario. I've been a customer of theirs for a few years, so it was very cool to meet the farmer, Bill, and the producer, Guillermo in person - and to see how lovingly they treat their Jersey dairy cows.
I have no business relationships with them, I'm a customer who buys their butter (15lbs at a time!). I wanted to film and publish this because I truly believe in regenerative farming as way to improve the life of farmers, animals, our planet, and everyone who eats food. I've written a bunch about this ...

Gay Beet Salad
Просмотров 2 тыс.11 месяцев назад
This beet salad recipe is easy to make, comes together in 10 minutes, and is full of flavour from lots of herbs, pistachios, and a sharp salad dressing. It keeps well in the fridge and it's the perfect salad for summer BBQs. Beet tops, also known as beet greens, are completely edible and are used in this salad. This is a great way to learn how to love the whole vegetable (and your whole self!)....

I gained 75lbs over 3 years... and I'm trying something new to lose it.

When the first lockdowns hit a lot changed for me: I was no longer walking to work every day, I spent my abundance of free time learning how to make croissants, and I tore something in my ankle which stopped me from running. I tried new things - I bought a rowing machine and a Peloton, I tried CICO, I tried Noom, strength training and Zone 2 cardio. I tried everything. But I gained weight. I th...

Roasted cabbage with lemon garlic dressing
Просмотров 26 тыс.Год назад
I grew up eating a lot of cabbage: kupus salata (vinegar coleslaw), sarma (pickled cabbage filled with meat and rice), and podvarak (baked sauerkraut with pork). I love cabbage. Cabbage needs time and love to taste good. This is an easy, delicious, hands-off cabbage recipe. It takes 5 minutes of work and you throw it in the oven for an hour. You’re rewarded with soft-crispy cabbage that melts i...

First time you've been offered on my feed. Impressive, presentation. Thank You, I've subscribed.
Thanks for the kind words! Means a lot!
Can you use dry parsley
I haven’t tried that, so I can’t say for certain, but I would expect that it would remain dry/papery in texture which wouldn’t be great. It also has a very different taste from fresh parsley.
I literally had received an ugly cauliflower yesterday from a food delivery service and this cauliflower is in the oven right now! I am so excited to try!! Sauce is one quarter cup tahini, 1/3 cup water, one clove of garlic, grated, the juice of one lemon, and salt
Hope that you loved it! That sauce is almost the same as one I make in my roasted squash video - it’s delicious!
Thank you from Hawaii, is become my husband favorite !
So glad to hear that!
Why starting in a cold oven??
It gives the inside of the cabbage time to warm up and soften before the outside gets crispy. If it went into a hot oven it would burn before the cabbage cooked all the way through.
Man love your intro so retro
Thanks! My friend Lex made it
A number of viewers have commented on how calm you are. Probably another calling - a mindfulness teacher?
Thank u
I’ve just watched 3 of your videos. All 3 were burned!
I’m assuming this one, squash, and pumpkin soup? In these cases these are sugary, hard winter vegetables that really change flavour when they are caramelized, which can look burned - but I assure you they aren’t. The cabbage edges do char, but the char is only 1/16” deep, and it makes a potato chip like texture. It’s a flavour and texture I really like! If you want a non-charred recipe of mine I would suggest the bruschetta or the peach salad! If you would like more burned recipes, in the sushi one my friend sets the fish on fire (and burns avocado!)
I hate this term, but this video is definitely a VIBE. Love it.
Thank you, it’s what I was aiming for! Haha
Totally yummy. This is a great channel. Love your recipes!
Thank you!
Why can’t we have a pride year?
Pride can live every day in your heart and your actions!
That's not oxidization that's mould. I'm still going to eat it though.
Cut the dark part off!!
1 garlic clove. I'm have a hard time nit putting 1/2 a bulb in it
I hear you on the garlic love, but this is absolutely not the recipe for that. If you do it, I wish you luck (and please report back 😅)
Regen farming works. It’s part of a greater silviculture plan. The land benefits. The cows are happy. And the farm products are so much better. And better for you.
My mumm died from cancer almost two years ago. It is still hard. Now I feel someone made lasagne for me. Thank you Marko.
I’m sorry for your loss. Glad the video could bring you some comfort ❤️
Why?
I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking about - why what?
Majestic. I live for the puppy hop cows do
Cook by steaming better and not watery
So, I have a toaster oven and been toasting my bread about 2 days ago I said I don’t have butter. So, I got some olive oil and drenched my bread in oil and popped into the toaster oven. And oh my goodness so good.
Mine would not boil w stem side up.. Just kept flipping 😔
Such a good channel
Thank you!
Really tasty! I think for my 2nd try I’m going to salt the water a bit more for boiling.
So delicious!
Thank you 😊
If urs too bitter dip them in chocolate milk or dark world like a charm ❤
Great idea!
So slow this should take just a couple of minutes
A very enjoyable and informative video, mainly because of your knowledgeable and relaxed teaching style. Because of that, I have subscribed
Thank you, that means a lot!
Absolutely useless. Did nothing!
I prepared this last night. It was delicious!!
It's a great idea. I usually use cauliflower together with stockfish , after having cooked it in water and then add it with olive oil in little pieces of garlic and onion ,then take it to the oven with soja sauce , pepper and piri-piri for around 25 minutes ,180°. This is a recipe from south Europe. You may other kind of common fish instead of codfish and add slices of boiled potatoes to it. Greetings from Portugal in the Algarve.
Sounds great!
I will definitely try this!
I was at a restaurant with my husband one night and I decided I would have what they called a Caulilflower steak. Im not a vegetarian but I still love veggies. This was like a half of a head of Cauliflower roasted with some kind of seasoning on it. I was so surprised by how good it was. It came with a chimichurri and hummus on the plate.
Love that!
Cabbage core is someting I can get into.
It was really hard to knead the dough. Not sure if I would do this again.
Really beautifully told and filmed. You have many gifts.
Thank you ❤️
Add garlic pdr & paprika & it’s even better.
Sounds tasty!
Will this work with purple cabbage? Anyone?
Sorry for the slow reply - it will work with purple cabbage. The colour may get very dark, but it’s a pretty robust cabbage so it shouldn’t burn.
Hello Marco, Thank you for illustrating this recipe. I have a friend from India who made baked cauliflower once for thanksgiving. She had covered in in some sort of a curried bean paste. I guess that's an Indian thing. Anyway I'm so glad to have your recipe I will try it as soon as I get a head of cauliflower. I am also looking forward to trying your squash recipe that you mentioned somewhere. Best wishes to you
First you said 30 minutes then said 20. Which is it?
You said a couple of tablespoons then added three. Which is it?
How old are you Just try it
A recent new way to prepare it for me now it's the only way to make it.Natural sweetnest! It3must be a new fad seeing they $4 a head(2.50)on sale. Well worth it. Thanks for the recipe... Much love.
Ummm why do you need to get creative when salting the cauliflower? I mean it’s not molten glass you can turn it over.
It’s pretty fragile once it’s been boiled, so it can break apart. The goal was to keep it whole for a nice presentation.
No I like jam yokes people who eat runny yokes on their own make no sense the yolk runs away and you can’t eat it. Jammy yolk tastes best and easiest to eat! Fu%@ you !
Only hit on this to say: I roasted one last wk n then fridged.. used it to fill out me vegan stew n it was bloody gorg! Think better as it had sat for 2 days n all flavours had chance to soak in better.. Incase anyone’s think .. hell no🤣
I cook my cauliflower in the microwave for 10 mins, then cover with a mixture of Helmans mayo and grated parmesan cheese, top with buttered bread crumbs and bake for 20 mins, OMG, it is amazing. Much better than just plainly roasted
Sounds great!! Gonna try your version, it reminds me of the artichoke dip with parmeson and Hellmans.
Great tip!
