Second time I hear this let it dry tip, a lot of comments say it's unnecessary and they never do it. My monstera is out of control with growth and I will try both methods to see if there's a noticeable difference or rotting.

Why do you have a camera in your livingroom? Ive wanted to ask this question for a long time. Partially just bc im noisy, like did you get robbed one time and thats why? Just in case theres an earthquake and it would be cool footage? For situations like this...were you in the other room? Proof to all of us how much you love you SOH? We believe you. Lol im just so curious to why you want vidoes of you chilling in your livingroom. What if you get spunky and end up 'doing it' on thr couch...do you go back and watch it? Bahahahahhaaha. Please, let me in on my why? Its obviously been a thought ive had more than 1 too many times. And maybe after understanding why you do it, i might be inspiried to do it myself as well. But i doubt it. Its gotta be a truly solid reason or reasons. I cant believe i finally asked.

Roots come from nodes New leaves from the auxiliary buds As long as you have one of each, a new plant is likely to develop

Rub a little activated carbon onto the cut section of the mother plant, it acts like an antiseptic for the cut section.

I personally don't think it would need to callous over I have never had problems without callousing over 😊

Put a decent amount of sand underneath for drain moisture.

I don’t like melons so IDK why I ever grew them except all my friends wanted them. But when I did my biggest problem was mammals (raccoons, skunks, possums, squirrels, etc.), not rot. Everyone recommended trellising them (like on an arch) but I didn’t have any luck with that either and just stuck with cucumbers and summer and winter squashes after that. Sorry. But you may want to look more into the trellising thing for next season.

I just leave them on the ground, no need to put them on anything
