Follow me on my boring night of working at a hotel.
Show us the laundry room please
The hardest thing in this job is dealing with rude people. I'm quitting my job in next month.
Hope ur doing ok. Sounded like u planned on making more videos but didnt.
I've never done this job before and I'm being interviewed in a few days, do I need a college degree or experience in any way? I'm a quick learner
بارك الله فيك اخي ❤
I became a hotel desk clerk/night auditor after the prior one came in drunk once too often. I was the security guard when I was offered the night audit position. I was at the job for 13-14 years. Such terms as RevPar, occupancy rates, marketing, sales, management, daily reports, etc. I normally ran my EOD between 2:30am and 3:am. An interesting to say the least.
You should definitely check back in with more videos it’s very helpful and very informational 👍👍
I used to do night audit. But it wasn't the only responsibility. Sometimes some check-ins were left, complain from rooms regarding aircondition or some request to provide extra pillows or blanket or crockery to eat food etc responsibilities were also included. Night shift was fine for a weeks but not for more than a month. I felt sleepy if i had to do it for longer.
Netflix & RUclips???? really???????
Why not? 😅
I need more videos about how to crack the interview for a night auditor,
You make it look so lovely and great spirits you have, very attractive.
I know that computer screen very well... I am the night auditor for Town Place Suites

I am from Saudi. I work as guest service agent in Movenpick hotel 5 stars. I do the night run and almost like you. Except that we have a team working with me. I enjoyed your video. It is very important job and in the future you can work as night manager. ❤

Very helpful video I’m thinking about working a summer job at a resort hotel on the East Coast I’ve been out of the game for a few years so thank u for this video 👍🏾
Hello, yesterday was my first day as a night auditor and I already screwed up. I'm not a people person and I get super anxious when dealing with other people's money. My personality is always a hinder in these kind of jobs... I've never done this job and at 37 I'm way behind my collegues who trained me for roughly 2 weeks. Can you recomend some form of media I could read/watch to improve my skills further? Thanks for sharing your work with us.
I have been working night audit for about 2 months now and I love it! I see over your shoulder that you use FOSSE as well. 😂
Have u dealt with crazies ? I’m trying to find a weekend only job I see three hotels so far that have this job . I work part time but I want another thing for weekend only . I have heard stories of people begin robbed . So I might just have a dummy phone with me or something and small wallet
I hope minimum wage in my country could exceed 4 bucks. Thats about 2 dollars. I'd give anything to earn between 8 to 10 dollars. I arrive to work at 9 to 10pm earlier just to prepare and collect reports on eftpos machines at various outlets upon closing so I can beat the time and complete my work and assist with other tasks. Its difficult to fall asleep if theres alot to do at night. Cleaning your workstation, setting wake up calls, preparing invoices for checkout guests, filing, ledger checks, assist guest with luggages for early check outs or check inns. Paper delivery if the bell boy runs late, respond to fire emergency alarms and more. Night audit is ideal for people who enjoy quiet an minimum supervision.
Working as a Night Auditor was and is still the best job I've had. The night is always quiet and not too many telephone calls. You can concentrate well and accomplish night audit tasks with little or disturbance. We usually work two or three people per shifts. One night manager and two or one night auditor. Theres aways lots of paperwork and credit card adjustments and corrections. I myself pretty much enjoyed correcting adjusting credit card posting errors and balancing the daily financial report. I would love to work again and pursue night audit as a career.
In my case as a night auditor im the only one and i respond to no one, just do the auditing, run the night, sleep then go home.
Thats great. Sounds easy for you. I hardly could work by myself at night cause there's a lot to be done. The credit card adjustments would have to be printed and corrected manually before it can be adjusted in the opera pms system. The same applies for all postings both cash and room charges, telephone charges, management charges, room rates, conference or events sales as well as retail sales. We had to do all paperwork, scanned all the documents to be send with the revenue report. You would hardly get any rest time if you are by yourself on the night shift. I hope if I get employed again as a night auditor the work process should be simpler and more efficient than my previous role. That way, I'd be able to work alone at night and accomplish task on a timely basis.
@@DelilahMoia thats a lot of things to do, i mainly focus on room rates which 98% they are accurate and f&b checks to be checked and filled daily and city ledgers to be closed and routed corretly. I dont do anything with cash, credit card reconsilation also easy if anything i just tell the front office to do correction but they always check their postings before i take it.
@@DelilahMoia but im the only night auditor at the hotels so i have been working 80 days without a day off
Update
Very interesting video. I do hope that you had the blessing of management to post this. I did not see any materials or logo that showed your employment location so that’s safe and will not be placed in an awkward situation with them. The Night audit process is a very important task overnight. The numbers have to be accurate and the system must roll over to the next business day seamlessly in both departments. Operations is another part of it which is just as important because you need to be present and attentive to guest and employee needs at all times. The phone should not be kept ringing nor should have a guest wait in line. The faster you deliver what they need the better for you. The overnight shift is also the most vulnerable time for scammers, fraudulent transactions, and shady people strike thinking it would be easy. So the shift really isn’t that boring because there are a million things that could be done productively without stepping away from the desk too much such us prepping the supplies of work stations, preparing morning operations meeting reports and power point presentations, doing walk throughs while another capable employee watches the desk, blocking rooms, and singing a happy tune while going about your business.
What would make you not fall asleep that’s my only promblem
I watched your two hotel work vids and I wonder what happened to you after that. I tried to see if you have other followups but was surprised that you only had those vids from 5 years ago. Good luck with everything anyway if you're still around. Each one of us only lives once in this world and when random person puts up a video and another finds it and benefits from it several years in the future, that's a miracle.
Haha! Right
Hey...yr alive and well.
How much math do you have to do??
None unless the specific hotel has an excel sheet that you manually put into numbers from a report you run. Minimal math large number addition and subtraction
As a night auditor when you begin your shift must check your room inventory for availability. preparation for your shift is key
As a night auditor do you not check your remaining arrivals if they are live or cxl. Do you not check your c/c balance on the departure list. Get a job in nyc and see if you survive with your minimal skill set
This hotel must not be part of a chain
Your a lazy night auditor
Thats A LOT.
No it is not. On a 8 hour shift you have 4+ hours of down time. How spoiled are you?
damn you do your audit at midnight?? i’m a night auditor and i wait til 4….. unfortunately i have to stay at the desk cause there are no camera that hook up to my tablet
I work Night Audit and I also have the cameras which actually I can carry it around since it's on a tablet. I can take my time in the bathroom and watch everything!. Now. Working night time I take my laptop and watch movies all night, be on my phone, play games and nap for only just a few mins but usually always stay up. I don't have to do anything at all but do anything at all and just best job ever. Really relaxed and chill it's pretty much a job for old people and lazy people and people who don't like to always be around so many people as people are STUPID!. I also never go to ppls rooms when they need something. I just let them know that because this isn't a full service hotel, I don't have anyone to take whatever it is up to your room but I can leave it here at the front desk for when you are ready to come and pick it up. I also charge the shit out of people who want to come and check in at 2, 3am!. Lol... And when they ask me why rate is so high I just say. Well, I'm sorry but I don't control what the rate is, it's controlled by corporate office. I do this just because of people that come in smelling like weed and the prostitution that goes on. I rather always keep these people away as it'll make it harder for me to if I wanted to nap for 10 mins. I just answer the phone just to make sure if someone is calling from a room everything is okay and no one is out in the hallways making noises. In the end. I do really enjoy my job. I hate that it has to be at night time but it's better this than nothing. Plus, anyone working this kind of job should always find a hobby or school or just find another you can do on the side. Like. A kind of call center you can do while working still in the hotel using your laptop or something.
Is night auditor job comes is NOC B level?
I work at a Fairfield as a house man that looks like our hotel
Watch this video got hired 15 minutes later....never works this position a day in my life.
Update ?
Stairs are my enemy now. I have a stress fracture in my left foot that broke and healed at least twice. And I have a heel spur in my right.
It's a shame you don't have more videos, you're very charismatic & easy to watch. I hope you're well. Sincerely.
I'd prefer to work your hotel. You seem to have more to do. We have 150 rooms but it's way too dead in the winter. There is literally nothing to do. Audit takes 10 min. There is such a thing as a job that's too easy. I'm down to trade. Lol
she's cuteee
iv been doing night audit 30 years she has it so easy
I just got a new job doing front desk night auditing I am so scared never done it before please help lol
