Ashes of Creation Playable Races and Dynamic World
where do you get the info about this story? or its made up?
It is lore that Steven (creative director of intrepid studios and ashes of creation) has given us over the years through livestreams/interviews for the game. The ashes wiki has this information as well "tower of carphin" , "the calamity" , "king atrax"
I learned a lot from this vid keep up the great work champ
Captivating presentation of the lore
Wow, now THAT is good writing
No this is podracing
I can't understand why people still cope so hard for this game, I mean, 8 years later there is still no prediction whatsoever for a full release, the game looks incredibly bland and they milked 100 bucks for a ALPHA acess. Copium asside, I think anyone can see the red flags.
The MMO genre isn’t dying. Old school runescape is more popular than its ever been. World of warcraft is in a great place.
From my perspective having not played "old school" MMOs, AoC is a breath of fresh air into a very stale genre. My first MMO was ESO in the closed beta, and since then I've sunk 5000+ hours into both ESO and GW2, and over 2500 into FFXIV. For me, the main draw of the genre is social interactions and all the most memorable moments from any that I've played has been events/interactions with guildmates. Ashes will be both the first "PvP" MMO I've ever played, *and* the first time I've followed a guild between a game. One of the things I was worried about was being randomly PKed and not wanting to play anymore, but in 30 hours I was killed by another player when I wasn't flagged just twice, the first time was a guild bodyguarding for their lowbies, and the 2nd was over a grinding spot. The 2nd time was hands down the most fun I had the entire weekend, after it turned into a mini war between guilds for about an hour. AoC has a great foundation, and I am beyond excited to see where they take it from here.
@@Mr_Folf Exactly this. The open world corruption system will lead to fun interactions in most cases. Not a griefing fest that prevents players from actually playing the game. I think people are scared of the possibility of getting PK’d but not realizing it will be a rare occurrence to them if they are just doing casual PvE things and not part of a top guild rushing for server firsts or very specific grinding spots
Dude... AoC is dead on arrival, they've been taking so long to release that the graphics and gameplay look dated af, by the time it comes out it will look like a slightly updated archage clone.. the copium people have for this game is wild, I genuinely feel bad ;/
have u played it?
Development too slow ( slower then star citizen and this is not exaggerating ), shitty game mechanics with zero thoughts in them ( mayorship system for exemple ), very bad and clunky combat gameplay ( even for a old mmo enjoyer ), this mmo is doomed and nowhere close to release even after close to 10 years of dev.
@@99Myr They’ve massively increased studio size over the past couple of years and kinda reset themselves when they switched to UE5. So I think we’ll see development ramp pretty quick, but this will be evident over the next few months with how quickly we see content added to the alpha. I think combat is great, some mobs are buggy and have delayed behaviors which can make some encounters clunky. But I honestly really like the combat and should feel great after more polish over the alpha
Forced PvP is a dealbreaker for too many people for AoC to be mainstream, it'll land itself in a similar place to EVE or Albion which is enough players to be alive but low pop and niche overall
@@SergeantZong I definitely am more of a PvE mmo player, but I still think that the whole reason for grinding out 1000 hours of leveling and getting better gear is to become stronger than other players. So that eventual and sometimes unavoidable PvP is why we are progressing our characters. But I do think the idea of open world PvP is scarier to some people than how it will actually be in practice with the corruption system. If people are searching for PvE content in Ashes I think they will be able to avoid unwanted PvP pretty easy. I think the subscription model they plan to have on launch will be a lower barrier to entry to at least try the game for a lot of those people who think PvP will be a deal breaker for them. (And I think they’ll realize it’s not as much of a hinderance to their gameplay as they think it is)
@@DarkMitten I think there is a lot of truth in what you're saying. I'll try the game on launch and I hope you'll be right - I in no way want to hate and be closed to change, I , like many other MMORPG gamers just want a good, fresh title
the open world pvp is the only good thing about the game
so cool much wow
I agree
It's only dying if you engage with content creators. Manufactured opinions.
True story! But everyone is missing the big picture here, back in the old days people had go figure out things by them selvs or ask another player.
You can tell this is really well researched and presented in a very concise manner. Excellent video overall
Wow, a great video for a very hyped upcoming game in the genre of MMORPG>
I just really want a game like OSRS that requires me to do one thing for 3 weeks straight to get a sweet cape honestly
You could invest that time into tailoring and make a sweet legendary cape
This needs more views! I’m inspired
I got sloppy 😞
MMO 🎉
The gear progression and loot is my biggest issue with modern mmos. Throne and liberty literally just gave you gear and all the guides just said use whatever they gave you. Until end game. There’s no sense of looting or getting excited from drops. I really miss that. Glad ashes is feeding into that sense of excitement
No more freebies! We need to earn our loot!
Loving all the Alpha AOC Content! Keep up the great work!
True and real. Can't wait for player stalls to make the economy more fluid.
I want a player stall that can repair equipment so we don't have to run to town lmao
I ❤ DARKMITTEN
I also ♥ my fans
Great video! Agree 100% on all your thoughts! I'm having a blast in A2!
@@JohnAPrescott The more I learn about the game the more fun I have too :)
When tf is this coming out. Is it ready to come out?
I mean alpha 2 is out, but costs a bit to get in to... We don't know when Ashes will launch, but my guess is it will be in 2027
@@DarkMitten holy shite
what graphic settings are you using
I play on epic or cinematic on everything, except for global illumination I keep on medium because dark areas are too dark on anything higher
Actual great advices, thanks and keep the good work👍👍
the guide is good and informative but still, it feels like watching someone show us the best way to piss against the wind. The technique is great and there is information to be learned, but not much point learning to piss against wind
imagine doing guides on a game that is not even out...
i was gonna say the same
@@RmTChannel Couldn’t be me
I mean it's playable and people are playing it so...
It's alpha testing. I thought that the goal was to break stuff? But I see build guides, best ways to level, best gold farming sites lol. It's silly. Good pub for Intrepid though.
People still got to have fun. A lot of people are rushing max level because that’s what they enjoy, and you can argue that’s testing the leveling process. Sure it may not be what they’re focused on now but they already changed commission rewards so it’s still feedback they are watching for.
Good advices actually.
@@Artur-rl6rb One I would add is to be opportunistic with pop up events. They usually offer pretty good exp and worth the short travel if you get the notification :) I appreciate it!
The old school way of doing things is to not dictate/direct or even influence your choices. its to spawn a player and allow them the choice making each experience unique to you and your descision making and this goes for everyone. Solo you make it on your own or you dont and you find a friend or you ragequit, groups figure things out and spread the word... just like your doing with saying the only important thing is "the sweat of your brow". Steven is an old school mmo player and hes is recreating that feeling of Questioning your self, am i doing this right, am i going the wrong way.
This looks so sick
couple points You're not playing a game, you are alpha testing an unfinished project. Bugs and glitches are to be expected. This is an old school(ish) MMO. Hand holding is and should be kept to a minimum. Please reread the first point a couple dozen times until it is firmly ingrained in your psyche, then read it some more
Yes... I am well aware its an alpha. It was still my experience. I don't believe I held bugs and glitches against ashes in any capacity. One or two quests that are already in the game, but just marked differently to allow new players to know that they are more introductory quests would still have hand holding to a minimum. I pointed out that the grindiness (that is reminiscent of old school mmos) is a point that I actually enjoy and is rewarding. Where as current mmos do not. Feel free to checkout my other videos where I point out that this is an alpha and this game is not everyone, and that there will be plenty of bugs and glitches but its an alpha, and why we can look at Ashes as a game that been in development closer to 3 years as compared to 8 years that its actually been. So we can adjust our expectations...
This was a great video sharing your experience. It's in alpha testing that we paid for and spend our valuable time on with hopes of enjoying what the game has to present at this stage. Ashes is not paying us to test their game, so the incentive IS TO ENJOY PLAYING IT. "Doesn't hold your hand" isn't what I would say to describe how much of a cluster*$% the starting quests are. I relate to what you were saying about lionhold, the first impression wasn't a good one for me either-- even as an OG MMO player.
The things you mentioned at the beginning are performance issues
I am slowly learning more about developer terms :) I assumed that those were more networking issues and performance issues are more related the game not running well physically/visually/crashing due to poor optimization related to pc hardware.
AoC hype! AoC hype!
Glad you're having fun! Thanks for the video
Glad you're having fun! Thanks for the video
Glad you're having fun! Thanks for the video
@@plannindorf my biggest issue is that I have to wait 4 days to play again… 😊
I’m loving it! Could care less about quests and storylines. Agree that if they don’t want people hanging out at lionhold, it should be more obvious what is required and what is optional. Otherwise people search every nook and cranny and talk to every npc. That’s still fine, but not if you want people to get out of the area fast.
@@barrywhite1770 I should’ve added this, but the “Set To Motion” quest reward was a necklace with no stats. It’s just an item. But I found a scholar npc randomly close to carphin and to start that quest you need that necklace from the other quest. I thought that was really cool and I wonder how many other quest chains there are that we need to discover.
Dude this game is now Steven Sharif's revenge because he burnt 30 million bucks and now he wants us to PAY him to Alpha test his game! What a joke 😂
This is my biggest problem with the game. We should not be paying to test this game. And if we really have to to deter people who don't want to provide feedback and trolls. We should be getting shit for this. Every dollar of the 120 should be received in either in-game currency, uniqe skins for items or game time after the game goes live. So for 120 alpha tester status I should be playing for free once the game launches for 8 months. I am considering getting the 100 dollar phase 3 key but the game has to be stable like an almost fully developed product.
@@HalIOfFamer I know it’s a steep price to pay just to test the game and there’s fomo about it, but Steven has pushed that this is a true alpha and it is a testing environment and there’s no visual nda so the whole world can see the game in its current state. So I see no issue with Steven choosing to operate in this way with his game. Were given all the available information so it doesn’t feel scummy to me. If people want to pay that price then so be it imo
@@HalIOfFamer this is not a game. This is a new business model called. GDaaS. Game Development as a Service. It's like Star Citizen. Why stop the crowdfunding when people are so desperate for a new MMO?

Really nice overview of the game. Watched it all and actually made me go through with the purchase of the game. Will check out your other videos. Thanks alot for your hard work.
@@HunterOfKokoto2 I appreciate it :)
Having finite on crafting recipes has got to be one of the DUMBEST mechanics I have ever seen. If I make an apple pie 10 times, I don't just forget how to make it and have to learn it all over again.
@@Guknowit I think this will be the case for some of the best legendary stuff. Like raidboss equipment to prevent an overproduction in them
If it proves to be dumb and players provide that feedback in testing I think that is something they would be okay in changing
@@DarkMitten The materials are already going to be hard enough to get so having a limit on how many times a player can make that thing is pretty game breaking imo. I think most of us that follow this game like the raw challenge that AOC proposes, but unnecessary mechanics like this can kill the QoL. I love grind, but I refuse to grind for repeats of a recipe card. It's just baffling, it doesn't make sense in any universe lol. Outside of that, great video, I'm glad you pointed that out because I didn't know that.
@@Guknowit I appreciate it :)
i have a solution for you that is simple. dont be a crafter. just spent the thousands of gold to obtain the item. problem solved.
