Full Pull on LYSTER'S Trail | PLEASANT VALLEY (Vermont)
Hello my Friend of Mountain Biking, this video presents a full run on a relatively new DH trail, Lyster's at Pleasant Valley Farms near Underhill VT. This trail is really great but also a double-black diamond with some exposure. Several rock features require some scoping before you ride them. Don't ride them blind.
You won't find the trail location on Trailforks. However, some information can be found on the Brewster River Mountain Bike Club website:

Sympa le montage et prises de vue du début de vidéo 👍
Have you found a trail map? Is it well marked?
@lancem5965 There is no trail map but the trail signs are very well indicated, once you find the entrance of the trail network. The entrance is to the right about 0.75 mile from the parking lot at the Dream Valley Farm, near two Adirondack chairs on top a small hill. Hope this helps.
Thank you this is about 15 minutes from my house and I didn’t even know they were there! I will check them out, great video
@@lancem5965 you should check out the information link in the description of my video.
The speed for the drop is to let go of the breaks at the tree that fell over. That B-Line looks a little more sketchy since the tress fell.
@corygraeme thanks for the tip. I was wondering where you exactly take off. There is kind of a double lip if I recall. One higher than the other.
@@thegreenmountainbiker417 you’ll have enough speed from the first (top) lip. Looking at the second lip, it felt like you needed to pull to avoid the back of the landing.
Thanks for sharing. The GoPro effect does little justice for the steep sections and chunk. It’s cool to see it with the tape up. I rode it before that and I struggled to find the tracks.
@corygraeme Thanks for posting your videos of Monteau as well. ESC racers have been watching them for sure, as far as I heard. Nice riding. You made it look easier than reality.
When trails look steep on a GoPro they must be really steep in reality!
The loamy sections are steep, which is ok because it is loamy. The flatter top with more rocks is more technical in my opinion.
Difficulté +++ ! … Bon entrainement
Terrain Looks super awkward
Yes, it needs to be ridden more. Trails are very fresh. It is a workout.
Wow, that's some rough stuff...great workout! No sure how a race would go in that terrain? Thanks for the video.
Is it a bit like Arrowhead before that place got more traffic and the lines burned in?
yes, exactly. The Arrowhead in Year 1.
Ha wouai impressionnant de difficultés ! Parcours inédit, que nous réserve la partie 2 ?
First trail looked tough!
yes, Big Teau packs a lot of features and different lines. Unfortunately, the climb is hell, so I could only ride it once so far. But Part 2 will show even harder trails.
Pretty tough to envision this as a 4 stage race.
It will be a very technical one for sure.
Love those more natural trails...a lot more work to ride but more fun IMO. Thanks for the video.
This place is hard. You will see it in Part 2. Trails get spicy.
Belle performance !
Merci Zaza!
Thanks for another great video and great result as well!
Really liked the course, the rain the night before really helped. It was fun when I wasn't crashing 😂
So true the rain helped sooo much, stage 1 and 3 were like all sand
It could have used a bit more rain for sure, but that dirt on Stages 3, 4 and 5 though turned great.
@@thegreenmountainbiker417 yea I meant on practice they were sandy my bad
@@Nick86mtb Agreed.
Great job! I've watched a few of your videos without comment but I just wanted to say that as a person who's been riding for 20 years it's not lost on me that this requires a tremendous amount of fitness but also mental toughness; especially when you're 80% of the way through a state and then get hit with, even a small, climb. Again, great job. Oh, am I the only one who's really never seen JBAR completely dry?
@glpf5 I sincerely appreciate your comments. There is always so much going on behind the scene that is not captured on camera, especially mentally. At the same time, what makes the ESC races great is the support between racers, young or old ones like us. We all motivate each other through the challenge.
Seriously, I need to tow you into waterfall gap! Friday afternoon this week? say 3pm? What do you say!? They did a nice job on Danger pond this year with rock armor and some new berms (one is still drying???). Love your videos!
yes, some towing on waterfall would certainly help to get the proper speed, but this week does not work for me. How about the following week on Wednesday or Friday?
@@thegreenmountainbiker417 next Friday would work. They changed list schedule for the fall to Friday to Sunday. No pressure but it’s always fun to ride with someone new. We can send personal message on Facebook or Strava as time gets nearer, but I generally ride each Friday afternoon.
I like the improvements they made to DP at the end of last season though they did take out a few tech sections...
I agree.
@@thegreenmountainbiker417 the muddy ski trail sections where it crosses grass could use improvement though...
Nice riding. Sleepy Hollow is one of my favorite networks in the area.
Thanks. It is one of my favorites too.
you definitely need two pedal strokes at the log jump lol.
Agreed. I have seen a few people crashing on it for landing too short.
Good seeing you there along with other regulars!
Amazing job on such a hard race!
Love your content! Thank you for sharing. Super solid riding. How do you like your commencal?
I have been very happy with it for its versatility. It is a bit heavy for enduro racing when stages require pedaling and the 27.5 rear wheel drags on rock gardens, but sharp cornering and jumping with it is great.
What’s Phil’s username on Strava?
You’re a beast that trail is super gnarly. Great work.
Did you get your handlebars out of alignment after fall on J bar? Nice race, well done.
yes, totally. But I only found out when I finished the Stage. I was so focused on the trail that I didn't even noticed immediately.
Congrats on the Stage 2 win and P3!!!
Hi Todd, I cheated. We were only 3 Masters... And Stephane and Joe are generally much faster than me. They crushed all the other stages.
Nice work. J-bar looks relentless.
This trail was so hard this year. Even the second part, which is supposed to be easier. I did what I could, honestly. But it made feel like a beginner.
🤘 keep it up. headed up to Burke next week
Burke area had another flooding the next day. Double check their potential road and trail closures online.
@@thegreenmountainbiker417 yes i think it is closed for the near future
Me too I crashed so hard on stage 2 my shoulder still hurts from it
Hope you feel better soon. I had a few bruises too after this race.
Looks like you and your son did quite well! I got passed by Phil on one of my stages!
Hi Dan! My son and I had to arrive so late, we didn't see you and the others (the fault to watching France playing in the Euro soccer semi finals the same afternoon). We were almost closing the stages. Son beat me for the first time in a race. I will make no excuse. Just some poor line selection on my part as you can tell in the video. I hope you had fun like us!
OMG
It looks super cool! nice riding mate! magnifique :)
Thanks mate!
On the race day it wasn’t as wet as
Bon effort mon ami.
Man, that wash on the wooden feature hurt my soul… props to you tough bastards for braving those conditions
Awesome! Even Skills with Phill showed up.
Good one!
Spicy. Looks like a day for armor...
I gotta get over there sometime this season. Good times last year.
Good to see you at the opening! Wish I had more time to chat with everybody, felt like I was running around all day. If you ever want a tow in to anything Lemme know!
@SkillsWithPhil I will not hesitate to ask next time! Skidmarks Grand Opening was such a fun event. Not only for the top-notch new trails, but also for community building. Northern Vermont mountain biking is excellent in this regard. Thank you, Phil and Hailey, for your hard work. We are all blessed to live here.
Good to see you at Cochran's! You are definitely more of a jumper than me! I wish I had been able to get there for the full Phil tour
@mybadvideos So nice meeting you in person at Cochran's as well. 12 years of BMX racing in France, albeit 30 years ago, have made me more comfortable on jumps than anything else! Driving Range has such great jump lines. Also, I highly recommend Highland Bike park for progression. Interestingly, this is where my son and I accidentally met Phil five years ago. We had just bought full-suspension bikes for the first time only one week earlier...
Sick
Watching this again to refresh my memory for next race, now I sort of wish I hadn't. That off-camber stretch looks BRUTAL.
