It's such an excellent travel lens. Whenever I'm going somewhere and I don't quite know what I'll find there, this lens nearly always has the right focal length for the job.

Softer than the EF version, which isn't that good, the Sigma 24-105 is a much better lens

Ummm I have this lens and will be getting rid of it because it is real soft and I'm sick and tired of out of focus photos on my R6Mkii... I get good photos with my 14-35 RF f4 and my 70-200 f4 and my 85 f2 and my 50 f1.2, so it isn't the camera. Canon should be embarassed with this "L" lens.

Eos R. Gen 1 Canon mirrorless. I sold mine and went back to my EF system with the eos 5dsr. Have now gone back to Eos R with the R8 and the 24-105 f4L and the 100-500 RF L.

Thank you for excellent review👍.I have rf 24-105 f4L my go to lens for travel/family vacation pair with rf 35 f1.8 and i have rf 28-70 f2L for portrait and wedding works😊

Usually you use lens with ND filter outdoors, because you have to make video in 1/50, 24 fps, iso 800 if you wanna have cinematic quality result. But you need cease light in this cases. This means that with 24-105 f4 you able to use one MORE stop of light with variable ND filters compered with 24-70 and it’s better to not achieve X effect with high ND filter rates + bonus 70-105 zoom range. For low light 24-70 f2.8 it’s not enough. You need prime lens. That’s is why 24-105 f4 is more suitable for video making outdoors. I have both rf 24-70 2.8 and rf 24-105 f4 but for video last one is more preferable. It’s impossible to record 1/50, 24 fps and iso 800 neither 24-70 or 24-105. It’s booth will fail in low light conditions. Bad news that rf 24-105 f4 have medium chromatic aberration. People on snow or trees on cloudy sky could be bad cases. Also rf 24-105 less sharper than rf 24-70 but for video extreme sharpness is not too good. That’s is why only chromatic aberration is the problem with it but not the one less stop of light. Soo.. 1. One less stop of light is advantage for outdoors video making. 2. Indoors rf 50 f1.2 or rf 35 1.8 is much better. 3. Suffering from chromatic aberration with rf 24-105 could be problem some times. Be aware of it. By the way - f4 is Hollywood standard of filmmaking. Usually you will see picture in films with f4 aperture 🫶😉😊

Great video. I also find that it's the lens that I use the most. When I bring it and the RF 50mm 1.2 I have everything I need for environmental portraits and most landscape photography.

I love mine. I have the XPS and the mac book pro 16 inch. the XPS screen is so beautiful and if you ask me just as powerful as my mac.

Hello, I dont know if the creator still reads comments but I got offered a XPS 15 with following hardware: Dell XPS 15 9570 Intel Core i9-8950HK CPU 2.90GHz RAM 64GB DDR4 Kingston 980 Pro 2TB SSD Samsung And renewed Battery For 950 euros. I plan on using it with a eGPu for gaming. Is the heating too much of a problem in your opinion? Thank you alot

This lens is so basic , basic photos, basic of what it asks of the photographer, basic results .

I will always miss my 18-200 I used as my "everything" lens on my Nikon, but very much considering getting this lens for the R5.

Dos this machine still a good deal in 2023 ?
