you just turtle against Jun and wait for her to make mistakes / opening and she'll be dead in no time. She's a scrub killer in purple / blue ranks for sure but at high level gameplay she will struggle like a lot. Her "strength" lies on her punishers (though she doesnt have a 15f launcher) and her tracking / homing moves together with her keep out gimmicks like b3 and parries and Can-can. If you turtle you negate these advantages she have and she will be forced to be aggressive to open you where she is severely lacking tbh. SS 4 and ff1+2 are her main pressure tools which are very linear ff1+2 being slow is reactable in my opinion. No reason to duck against her since she has the no good low. db 3 on hit doesnt give enough frames to maintain pressure and d4 damage is neglectable as someone else mentioned here. Her only good low is from Gen stance which is absolutely so predictable. i mean if you see her enter genjutsu stance its either that low or the mid kick with the follow up, its ridiculous. You can always react with a duck when she enters Izumo and her moves in izumo arent that good too. the permanent damage bull crap nerf on her light moves sealed off her fate as mid / low tier char. She just feels very passive as compared to other characters. I would honestly trade some damage nerf from her combos for some frame advantage. Like db3 on hit being +3 or +4 kinda like Ninas so she can df 1 pressure after. or make it knockdown on counter hit. A bit more damage on db 2 and d 4 would definitely help her gameplay in my opinion

not done watching yet but as a Lee, Asuka, Jun, and (still learning) Devil Jin player, these is the fairest takes I've ever seen about all of them in a single tier list. (especially about Lee, I feel like he's a very misunderstood character because he's both incredibly annoying (mosquito is the perfect description LOL) and like Jun, if he gets a read on you he will just shut you down completely, his punishment is amazing, and the flexibility of his wall carry and wall combos is almost absurd. But in return his weaknesses are so starkly defined that it's so easy to just get salty after a bad session as well (every string is duck launchable, almost everything is linear, his jab and df2 range is pathetically small (and I only don't feel it because Asuka and Jun are the only characters with even worse jab range lol), his sidestep and backdash are incredibly ass on top of the previous) I've died so often just trying to do his heat smash (and the handful of times it has hit it didn't even kill even when the opp is already low enough health to be in rage) that I've simply stopped using it altogether. So I always see him very high or very low when I feel like he's just somewhere in the middle.)

i think people think Jun is braindead purple ranks tbh. but fundamentally, her mix-ups are so basic and not rewarding. (FC mix ups). there are a lot more braindead characters in the roster (ahem, Lars for easy stance mix-ups and transition shenanigans)

5$ for a stage. and their argument is dogshit. if we go by their logic that 1 stage costs 150k the game would have cost like 100$ FOR JUST THE STAGES yeah let the player base pay for every single element of the game. tekken 9 will start with jin and kazuya + infinite stage just plain white and everything else will cost you 5$ each. tekken 10 will have you unlock moves with $ you want ewgf? that will be 2$. i hope the franchise burns i always loved tekken but this is point of no return for me

I´ve been playing Tekken since 3 and is the first time, FIRST TIME, that I´ve stopped playing Tekken. I uninstalled it. When I had Tekken 3 I basically played always even after Tekken 4, Tag1, 5, etc... I basically played Tag 2 till 7 came up, (and I still play for nostalgia) From Tekken 7 to 8 I played even the same day that 8 was released while the other was downlading. This is the very first time that I do not want to play it and had to take a big break. Online is horrible with pluggers and toxicity, balanced not fixed and the predatory microtransactions and such. Is just so bad. I don´t care about heat, I barely use it. Is boring. This franchise has been a big part of my life and I feel so sad seeing the current state. Tag 1 was kinda bad and I still replay it from time to time lol but this one is a joke. I don´t know when or if Im coming back to Tekken 8. PS. (Making you pay for a legacy character like Heihachi is so disrespectful)

8 months for a Tekken game this balanced is really good. It's the most balanced tekken game, and one of the most balanced fighting games. all characters function and you know if you're making a mistake during a fight. You're talking like it's been 3 years. They are going to make more adjustments even though it's already gameplay wise in a very good spot and Every balance patch is twice as long as other fighting games. Street fighter didn't even have a patch for a year. Take a break for a couple of months.

Where is online tournament mode?

Law's lack of lows is a fatal flaw. I wish they would give him a decent low from range option other than slide.

I consider season 1 dlc characters base roster and it was just a way to charge more for the game, 😡

Just want to point out that the matchmaking is arguably worse now. My highest rank is Fujin and I'm regularly getting matched up with people who are sitting in Tekken King and Emperor, and the matchmaking is actually taking longer.

Good update but the game is still kinda whack, add some new game modes damn! There are less modes in T8 than T7, a huge complaint about T7- 8 years and they slim it down?!

In my opinion I enjoy Tekken 8 more then T7 I like how they made some moves easier to execute, the heat is fun just have to get used to it.

how exactly is "ling" problematic? one of the worst win rates in the game, bottom 10 least picked characters and never wins any tournaments. People just dont like her, and that is not a good reason to say shes top 10 or whatever, because she is not. You cant let your feelings dictate what you think about a character, thats BS and frankly it happens way too often in this braindead community

SEASON 1 character SHOULD HAVE BEEN: 1) Jinpachi 2) Devil Kazumi 3) Ancient Ogre 4) Guest (or akuma back) not Lidia Eddy & heihachi. 😴 You make some good points. Listen, I wanna like tekken 8, I do, & this “nostalgia” narrative about tekken 7 or how it was “stale” is just down right false. I played it the other day & other than graphic fidelity & load times, it’s the better experience. Heat should be a once per match thing & remove all heat engagers from power crushes. Remove chip. Let us play & let the better play be REWARDED. As for the roster, heihachi does nothing for most of us & there’s still no boss character playable like jinpachi or devil kazumi or guest like akuma. Netcode is still laggy with 80-90 ms being the norm & crossplay has so many rollback frames that STILL need to be addressed. Harada blocking ppl for asking about a character returning in conjunction with nothing being done about mass cheaters / plugger points isn’t helping either. Players are just tired man, the games mentally exhausting & tekken 7 in its first year was way more hype. It ain’t looking good, I’ll return when jinpachi or akuma comes. Y’all be safe.

I'd add the ft2 system in the ranked section. It's so lame that I can't learn any matchups because I have to stop playing with someone after 3 matches for no resaon. It actually makes ranked more frustrating for me, since matches become more about winning than learning the game

I love this game. No matter what anyone says, it is the best game ever. People are so aggressive toward this game even though it is the best in the Tekken franchise, and the Heat system is not bad either. I'll say this: pro players who have won tournaments are still winning. Just adapt to the game and learn, like I did, and stop blaming Ling Xiaoyu.

Hi! Jun main here in TAG2 and in T8! First of all you brought up a good topic in this video!! To answer your question about why she feels so stringy, the point is, she always been also in Tag2 . The b2,1 and 1,2izu strings were still there! She's a defensive character but had to play more with IZU and GEN stuff. The exact tools are the same it's just that now you have to focus more on to bait for df4 CH combos, df3 to keep out, d4,4 (low high Ch counter), db3, and doing mid range some d1+2 to look out for a free launcher, sometimes a good SS to d1+2 helps to evade more. I don't use much df2,1+2 since she self dmg too much herself with this move. It's ok for f2,1+2, anyway you will still use it only as punish. GEN 4 I only use it for combos and never in neutral since it can be floated so I don't get this kind of complain. Surely, you'd have to give her another try to understand her better since HONESTLY I had a rough time before to re-adapt, several months especially to understand how to revisit her main tools in this game with the actual heat system! her heat smash now it's nerfed anyway and needs re-alignment to not make it whiff. Still, I admit as well she feels a bit odd, her Kazama style now in terms of DEFENCE are more focused on her Magic Shield! F1+2 is your new best friend but needs time to learn to use it properly. Pro players basically fishing for it even at -9 with this move. Her old df2,2 in tag2 was bad btw, it was meant to be wall bound move and was often whiffing for NO REASON so I'm happy it's gone!!! At higher level her strings are bad to spam so basically you'll have to do more 1,2 SS into ss4 or ss2 ... If you want I'd like to answer to this as a video, you'd be surely refreshing since it's a good topic

Jun are Lars are my favorite. I know people really don’t like Lars all that much but i love how you have to slide into the majority of his moves. he’s so fucking cool

If you don't hit buttons against nina, she cant open you up. Yes the guns r op in heat, but u can jab out if you block the mid... If u lab Nina, she isn't top tier. In low ranks she seems strong, but they can't block can opener, sooo idk... Drag is strong, but once again, he is very linear... u step him or challenge him, he isn't as scary... wr2 is steppable on block, after snk 4 he's lock into stance, you must challenge him, force him to play on immediate timing w/ the while raising mix, no launcher from crouch and the mids are punishable.... I wish our community would lab more, the game would be so much more fun

for me lili is annoying cuz she's really strong and really easy, and most lili players play like apes. sure, she is technically a fundies character, but most lili players dont even know what fundamentals are. even in fujin, you play against lili's who just mash random offense the whole match, no matter how much you punish it. i could probably learn the matchup better, but even past that its like even when i win against a lili player i didnt have fun. its just the playstyle she enables and the people that play her are just so dumb. obviously, there are skilled and intelligent lili players, but those are few and far between compared to the amount of lowlife mashing lili players

5:48 just for the record, no one is complaining about xiayou's aop going under highs. there are like 20 other characters that have high crush stances. people complain about aop cuz she can duck under lows

nerf every character until they are steve lvl. otherwise this game will be done after next season everybody above steve is just broken. this game is the ultimate knowledge check + casino nothing more

Thank you for not overrating Zafina. She's still awful, but many people claim she is mid-tier because only pro players study the MU, so she gets away with a lot of nonsense. Bottom 5: Azucena > Eddy > Zafina > Devil Jin > Raven

Sorry I'm not watching the whole hour but this is pretty much my exact tier list. just switch Shaheen and Feng, switch Yoshi and Nina (although her guns are stupid as hell), and also I'd honestly put Jun in bottom of A tier. ss4 and 2 heat smashes still go crazy. Also thanks for putting Claudio in A+. If it's not heat smash, his lows do be lacking compared to the rest of the cast. Also his i13 poke b+3 is -4 on block and it's -1 or -2 or -3 for a lot of other characters, so he might be crazy strong but his weaknesses are there. Also also yay I'm comment 69.
