I was at this race with the mother of my 3 kids. A tornado came through Friday night and me and her were in a tent waiting it out. It was a legit sign from God.....I should have left that bitch right there

Probably the most forgotten victory of 2001. Joe Nemechek is underrated af. Hell of a driver and it’s awesome seeing John-Hunter fighting for wins.

I was at this race. Had pit passes (still have the lanyard) and met Kevin Harvick his 1st year - asked him to sign my pit pass and he said sure, but neither of us had a pen (I told him all, good - have a great race). I actually was on TV for TNT just before the race and got to roll a bowling ball down the banking. Was supposed to meet Dale Earnhardt which I was a longtime fan. When everyone knew that Tony Stewart had the race they bailed out. (Tennessee fans didn't like him) I also saw Mike Skinner yell at a kid for asking to sign his autograph on the bumper that just got ripped of his car in the late accident. Kind of mean, but I can understand the frustration of crashing. VERY LOUD in pits for this one!

I remember being at this and the 2000 pop secret 400 race as a kid, I still remember the smell of burning rubber and race fuel and the atmosphere of the place. would love to go back for the first race that the cup series goes back there man.

When real race cars use to race, love the sound of them...oh and with 5 lug nuts and real gauges instead now are garbage junks!!!... thanks nascrap!

I wish one of the RUclipsrs would make a video on this race. Probably one of the most unique group of front runners you will ever see in a race from start to finish. Joe nemecheck dominating, a struggling rookie Kurt Busch short pitting and battling for a win. Kenny Wallace subbing for park and nearly pulling the sweep for the 1 team. Benson and Nadeau also having great days. The usual contenders were nowhere to be seen all day with Dale Jarrett coming home in 4th the best of those. Rockingham was amazing.

Man poor Nadeu that was in the bag. But also it’s good Rudd got this win since it was his last one.

Why didn't Mikey just pull the rev chip out of the box? Ward Burton did that in 2003, and it worked fine after that

I was stunned when the 24 wrecked! One of the first times he kinda messed up, before 2002 24 was almost unbelievably mistake free.
