Stress caused by hospitalization may cause many negative outcomes. There is always a need to update tools to help ease the hospitalization of children. After evaluating academic literature, it was found children who were supported through services such as Child Life had better outcomes in terms of their hospitalization stay/time. Additional research found that psychologically preparing children for surgical procedures not only benefited children but also everyone involved in the procedure.
