Too many games today are being release with NO CORE AUDIENCE in mind and it's leading to spectacular failures. I'm going to deep dive what serving your core audience looks like and how these games completely failed to do so.

When you make a game for everyone, you make it for no one.
On Concord, I'd say that the issue with trying to cater to the infamous "modern audience" is that this audience isn't interested in games with guns, or competitive video games in general. Strange choice to make a hero shooter for them.
That's a fair middle point, there may well be a modern audience but these competitive genre's are just a bad place to go for them
Well said. True diversity comes from the diversity of ideas, thoughts and freedom of expression. Extending the ice cream flavor comparison: a variety of flavours indeed brings richness, even combinations of flavors bring something new, but sometimes flavors need to be adjusted to be tasty enough and sometimes they don't really fit too well together to appeal to general market. Yes, there's always those who will absolutely love macadamia-pear with just a dash of ketchup, but those sort of flavours are bound to stay a niche. Shoe-horning flavours willy-nilly seldom creates good results and your customers really will call you out on your BS if you try to present that as the new vanilla. In a nutshell, it is a matter of knowing which type of flavours to sell to which customer group and how, and not a matter of flavour.

Everyone should be able to enjoy games, and something as simple as subtitles is indeed inclusivity done right. Edit: Also love the ice cream comparison.
