Important Van Upgrade - Addressing the Crosswind Stability Issue and Cruise Ship Handling
It's time to upgrade the suspension and eliminate the sway. Hopefully, this will improve crosswind stability and firm up the factory suspension's boat-like ride. I have an ECM programmer that will disable the Mercedes Cross Wind Assist if this suspension upgrade does not fix the horrible crosswind stability problem.

I jump onto your page from time to time Greg. Maybe you discussed it but are you going to SE Asia anytime soon or staying here in America? I gotta wait 3.5 to leave this land that I love for a better retirement abroad.
Staying in America for now. I need to set up a decent home here before I get any ideas about expat life again.

So which is more tolerable, Arizona heat or Thailand. 115-120 here in Vegas. I'd still take this dry heat rather than that humidity. Good luck with your upgrades. 👍
Dry heat for sure. Doing this work in TH would have been just as bad or worse in the hot season there.
Smart move Greg. That $4k investment will significantly improve handling. I was reckoning on $10k minimum including labour. Will you post the before and after?
I have just over 6000 miles on the stock suspension. After at least a thousand miles, I will make a follow up video comparing the new upgrades. I sure hope it was worth it !

I like getting dirty and spinning my own wrenches. The dealer I got the Kit from wanted 1 day and 1500 USD to install it. I also like saving money.
I get it bud, nothing beats the satisfaction you get from completing a job like that, especially in that heat.

Have you ever considered Texas Hill country? You can get acreage with a nice house for less than a mil. And you can be within 45 min. to an hour drive from a big city like Austin or San Antonio
I gave up on Texas due to the extreme property taxes and the criminal level at which all the counties raised rates during this latest housing boom cycle. They sure as f@#$ won't drop them if the housing market corrects 20 percent either!
@@ReluctantNomadAgree about the property taxes. It’s the same thing in Florida. The states with no income taxes hammer on the property taxes to make up what the lose on income taxes. It’s really a scam,either way the states get their pound of flesh.

Good to see you back Greg. I presumed your absence was due to Wedding/Honeymoon commitments. Sad to hear Miss X is feeling home sick. I think a bespoke home is your best option and once you've found your ideal location, designing and building a home is relatively straight forward. That said I'd wait until November to commit either way. A property crash can't be that far away whoever is elected. Buy gold?

Did you guys ever sleep in the van ? There doesn’t look to be room with all the kit stacked in there.
We have several times with all the same stuff but it was not easy and the basement area was packed so it was hard to access anything.
Let me be clear. A sprinter van is NOT an RV in my opinion. It's just too small and cramped to be considered anything "Recreational". Sleeping in a van is more like survival
@@ReluctantNomad I am confused then on what all the “stuff” in the van is for because it looks like camping gear…coolers, toilet, batteries. I am familiar with the Storyteller and Revel and both have adequate storage under the bed and also have places to sit and do basic meal prep. Showering is another issue in the ST but the Revel has a very small shower. I dont think you have quite figured out your system and now that you added a woman to the equation you never will !!
