This is the story of my giving birth to my fourth beautiful baby, Auden. We finally made it to the end of my complicated and high risk pregnancy (Adrenal insufficiency, Hashimotos and Graves disease and several bleeding episodes, covid and bronchitis) only to be hit with more serious problems. Auden was sent to the special care nursery and I was stuck in hospital for the longest week in my life...

I’m living through this rn unfortunately 😢 It’s taken me 6 months to get an appointment with an Endocrinologist and I feel like I’m dying everyday. The joint pain, hair loss, loss of appetite, brain fog , low BP and sugar crashes have me scared to death. I’m so weak I can rarely get out of bed. My appointment is September 11th, please pray that I make it until then.

Yeah, I was told I had Addison’s disease in the hospital six months ago I’m not on any medication and it is very difficult very I gotta go in for another cortisol test I am afraid to start the medication because I know I will have to depend on it for the rest of my life and I was hoping that my adrenals might reverse where I don’t have to take the medication but I don’t know but thanks for putting your input in medication I appreciate that I was wondering how much it would be

I know. I felt the same way. I was against all medication for several years but this is the type of disease that you can’t get away with without medication. Taking the steroids was the best thing I did to get my life back. Before that it was impossible to live. Now I just take the tablets and try not to think about them and the fact that I need them for life. Trust me.Life is better with them.

Another issue with this disease, it is complicated by also having PTSD. When I become stressed, it is very difficult to normalize my body. Stress is not a continuum for me. Thank God for letting me watch this video. I’ve had 2 miscarriages and I also have MTHFR - C677T homozygous. I do my own research on internet and also got advice from my doctor. But it seems there is no surefire method. I was really desperate when I had 2 miscarriages and no doctor gave me an accurate explanation of my situation. Some doctors say that the MTHFR gene is not related to miscarriage, but according to many researchs, everyone who has recurrent miscarriages has this gene. Along with that, I also see a lot of information about using methods such as lovenox injection and baby aspirin, and still not successful. After I saw your video, I decided to try on Serrapeptase. I understand the suffering of those who experience recurrent miscarriages. And the desperation when the doctors couldn't help, they just tried and tried. If so then I personally might try it either way. I will update with more information after I get pregnant.

I liked so much what you had to say! I have secondary adrenal insufficiency & my Endocrinologist, my Primary Care doctor, & my husband are very supportive. Friends & family don't understand & unfortunately I have lost friends because of this illness. I certainly know & can empathize with your symptoms. Many of the symptoms you described I also have. I wish that you & I would be able to be friends & support one another. I wish you all the best & pray that you have more days that are positive & filled with more energy. I can't get out of bed on most days, no matter how much I try. I get up just to go to the bathroom & back to bed😢. There's a lot of brain fog & difficulty concentrating. I have to make lists for everything I need to do. Well, enough of my symptoms. I hope that anyone who suffers from this illness & is reading this will learn to accept their limitations & be kinder with themselves. This illness has taught me a lot about life & myself. May God help all of us who suffer with this disease. My ❤ goes out to you! Rose 🌹

I've been going through adrenal fatigue (HPA axis stress dysfunction.) it's been horrific. This is a sixth year and I'm finally coming out the other side. No help from doctors, I had to find out things myself. crazy covid didn't help. Thankfully I didn't get the clotshot in my already struggling body. I have to take things very slow. it's been a crazy ride and cost me a fortune trying to get my body back. I'm using cannabis in coconut oil now and I'm finally feeling good again. I still get bad shaky days but they are getting less and lasting less. I probably will never fully get my strength back but I'm 77. so expected. I will admit there were times, because it went on and on, that I didn't care if I'd died, it was so horrible. But I am better so be strong, LOVE YOUR BODY especially when it is struggling. Treat it as you would a sick child, with tender love. it will respond accordingly.❤❤❤

I have been diagnosed with Addison's for over 10 years, but had it for way longer and hospitalized with severe adrenal crisis and followed by coma. These were near death experiences. I have had numerous crisis' since and can't count them all, some were an ambulance ride and hospitalization. And some I learned to recognize the symptoms early and head the crisis off at home. The doctors won't treat you anyway and I have nearly died in front of them and they just watch your blood pressure. I am on stress doses of Hydrocortisone now due to pain from arthritis. I can say that even though you are on HC that you still have debilitating symptoms of Addison's. I have to balance my own electrolytes because I produce zero Aldosterone. And zero all the other hormones made by the Cortex. I have a good doctor 5 hours drive from here, so he can't help me in the ER. I am trying to educate my doctors and ambulance, hospital and ER with literature for that very purpose from the National Adrenal Disease Foundation. All kinds of things can put me into a crisis, like being out in the cold for an hour, or family trouble, or loud noise. I turned off the buzzer on my dryer because it sends adrenaline through my body. The list goes on, worry or fear. Or good things like being with my grand kids. It is all stress and I can take very little. I can not work and do the things I use to do like garden. This disease is all encompassing. Some people say they can life a relatively normal life after getting on steroids. I don't see how. I have zero production of hormones, from the cortex. I have to be my own doctor as my doctor who cares for me is so far away. I like connecting with others who have the disease so I can learn and better take care of myself. Thank you for sharing your life.

Like recently my new friends have said oh I get really tired. Maybe I should get checked. I think I have what you have. I don't wish it on anyone. I'll ask them. Have you ever had your hormones checked and they say no? I'm supposed to be on HR since I had a hysterectomy or partial hysterectomy or I'm supposed to take B12. Tada... I just wanted to thank you for sharing this information with the MTHFR community.i truly believe because I added serrapeptase to my morning supplement regimen, I carried my baby girl to term. My pregnancy was perfectly healthy with no bleeding complications. I ended up having a c section because of a triple nuchal chord but otherwise nothing MTHFR related. I took it up until the day before I gave birth. Thank you again… I cannot be more grateful!

@@JessicaHearsey That would be so helpfulf! Yes I was on 20mg of Hydro before pregnancy, and the first trimester I didn't really have many issues. At week 13 I started to crash and had to go up to 25mg. But since then my capacity has been so limited. So I'm not sure if it's normal pregnancy, AI, or one of my other health issues (although it does seem to get better with steroids). I had another crash a few days ago (at 15 weeks), but I'm scared to keep upping my dose. I've been taking 27.5mg and feel a bit better, but my endocrinologist has been little help. Their advice was to try to avoid increasing my dose at all costs, but that I could if I absolutely had to. They just told me to "do my best" so I've just been lost with figuring out my dosing and knowing if I'm taking too little or too much 😬

What other symptoms are you having that gets better with steroids? I think of was taking 30 minimum daily. Sometimes more in the third trimester. This did make me gain quite a bit of weight but life was so much more manageable. Avoiding upping dose can be dangerous because as my endo explained to me that I would be naturally making/ needing more cortisol during pregnancy anyway if I did not have this disease so your body needs it.

@@JessicaHearsey I am worried about weight gain- particularly because I had a bad bought of infections and illnesses right before pregnancy that caused me to updose for months and I gained a lot then too. I had finally gotten back to my normal dose , started losing weight, and then got pregnant 😅 But I'll feel super out of it (sort of dissociated), have heart palpitations, nausea, diarrhea, extreme fatigue, brain fog, shakiness. But my endocrinologists don't seem to know much- so it's hard to know what to do.

It sucks that this is our reality. All you can do is up your dose and see how that makes you feel. The doctors can’t tell you how much to take because everybody needs different amounts and metabolises the medication differently. I came to the mindset that yup I am going to gain weight but I am going to do the best I can to be healthy (exercise and eat well) and then everything else is outside of my control, it is temporary and I am going to chose to be okay with it. It still sucked though. Those feelings of out of it… I describe it as not really feeling that I am there. What I found was that it can be helped with steroids but mostly it was a dip in blood sugar levels not because of anything I did or ate or didn’t eat, just another side effect of disease.

Trying to look up pregnancy info with adrenal insufficiency is impossible! Thank you for this. Hearing what you had to get your dosage too helped me a lot. My doctor basically thinks my dose just needs to stay the same- but I'm really struggling. Looking forward to going back and watching all your older pregnancy videos like this now!

I had my hormones tested and came out with a very low cortisol reading - I was originally diagnosed with hypoadrenalism and given hydrocortisone. But I didn't take the medication at all because I was worried about side effects - a year later I was tested again and the cortisol levels were normal. It turned out the hypoadrenalism was caused by a medication I was taking at the time - certain medications suppress ACTH. This was opioid induced and then resolved when I stopped taking the painkillers.

I had a Dex test for cortisol and it came back as 1 (4. is low on the scale) today, I had the ATCH testing with BP done before and after the test (and blood draws) I was wondering if or how much your BP changed ? For example, my baseline BP was 99/66 (Before the IV injection) end of the test it was 109/69. So, clearly, it did go up but is this a normal/average/low/high result for ATCH test? If you could toss in your 2 cents it would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I think its a tragedy that main stream medicine has totally dropped the ball with thyroid and adrenal issues, in a backward way its encouraging to read the comments of other sufferers as I thought I was the only person with weird health issues and the rest of humanity was way healthier than me! I'm 58 I had adrenal issues my whole life and its ruined my health and also my life its takes everything, relationships, jobs and careers! I personally don't believe stress causes adrenal insufficiency I think that's absolute bullshit I think you are either lucky or unlucky you're born with bad adrenals like I was or you are not, I know lots of people who have very stressful lives and they revel in it they are not sick in anyway whereas if your adrenals are bad then you cannot cope with any kind of stress, not physical chemical or emotional, you can have all the spa days you like but it won't make one tiny bit of difference, you can be as healthy as you like but it will not make any difference whatsoever I know I tried everything and I just end up where I started, lifestyle changes are a good thing for overall health but if you think its going to fix your adrenals issues then I'm sorry to tell you that going to be disappointed, it won't! I believe the only thing that will "help" with the problem is firstly talk to a professional endocrinologist never a General Practitioner GP's are not suitably trained in this area of medicine, they couldn't spot an adrenal crisis from a mile away! If you are trying to deal with this through your family doctor then you are just wasting your time in most cases unless you are very lucky so that route is a bit of a long shot IMOP Its like all things if I had a heart problem I would insist on being referred to a specialist cardiologist someone that specialises in that subject because its far too complex for your average GP First you need a full work up by a "good" endocrinologist and figure out exactly whats going on and that's what I am trying to do now as I am tired of trying to self medicate because as Ive gotten older I can no longer cope as well as I used to so I need to get this fixed! I have symptoms of Addisons & Cushing's so could be cortisol insensitivity I never had black gums or fat belly, I do have very small amount of belly fat that I cant shift plus some fatty tissue at the back of my neck, I sometimes have a rounded puffy face but not always comes and goes, also I have skinny legs, I have GERD, IBS, Candida flare ups, eczema, hypothyroidism, depression, brain fog, libido all over the place, I have sore sandy eyes, I have earwax issues blocking my ears all related so I'm told, also my memory sucks and I'm getting the heart pumping thing every time I climb the stairs or lift something heavyish! Sorry to hear so many people suffering and more importantly not getting treated properly it's tragic that lives are wasting away when I believe this is fixable! Take care you guys x
