Brilliant thanks!! Will do! Quick answer is to use a jig to hold letters together and use thicker runners on the press than your letters and then pack with pack paper to get the pressure just right. And soak your paper for a great emboss with no ink you will get amazing results 😀

Its the same - dry-point and aquatint plates are intaglio so this movie shows you how to set the pressure for all Intaglio plates. If you need any further help you can get in touch and do an online workshop with me if you need.

Great to hear from you Claire, you will do... you need reg pins either end of the plate to hold the paper both sides and runners that are thick - I use 8mm thick and just packing paper (around 8 sheets) I have nearly finished another reduction movie I will post it to you as soon as its made but if you double side your plate down onto a board and put that on your bed (don't secure that down to the bed otherwise it won't work) and then packing paper ontop with your 8mm thick runners you should get excellent results. Hi Claire, Sorry I missed this! Have you fixed the problem yet? I would check the following - use a hard roller to put your ink on so you know your putting on the right amount of ink onto the plate - a soft roller will put to much ink onto the plate. And also if your using calico safe wash it is probably to runny so just add a little magnesium into your ink.
