1941 Ford Convertible Repairs
This old car needs some love. I usually do not drive this car in the summer. ITS TO HOT. So I'm getting her up to par for the fall. Doing some repairs on the. 6volt charging system, lights, Horn and random oil leaks. This video isn't a how to. More or less a video of watching me struggle to figure. out the charging system. The model of the car is a 1941 Ford Super Delux convertible. My brother and I inherited it from our uncle. This car originally came from my Grandpa. The engine is a flat head v8, boy does it run good. Over. time I'm slowly fixing little issues that any old car would have. I. hope you enjoy

Will it run? 90 year old Farm engine with missing parts. Will it run on the cheap?

In this video I will take three busted McCormick-Deering M engines and make 1 runner. The issue is all of them are missing a Magneto and a fuel pump. Unfortunately the mag and fuel pump are out of my budget. But I manage to find away around both to get this engine running. I end up using a demand propane regulator for the fuel source. I ended up getting this on eBay for. 30 bucks. The magneto i...

The SS Badger runs from Manitowoc Wisconsin to Ludington Michigan. It is the last coal fired ferry operating in the USA. The trip was about 4 hours long and was worth the money. It was a experience that almost took you back in time. I tried to get permission to get into the boiler room, but it was not possible due to liability.

    Me and my brother took that in 1976 to see the U-505 in Chicago. The car ferry was inexpensive back then. We took my 75 Chevy Nova then but I have a 2015 Toyota Corolla now. I don't want to take the trip because it's not only expensive now, but my car is a stick shift and I wouldn't take the chance of a worker trying to drive it on board that doesn't know how to drive it.

    $380 for 1 SUV and 3 people?! That seems like an eye-popping amount of money for a 4 hour ferry ride. Is that at least Round Trip? Can you take a round trip as a foot passenger (no vehicle) just for the boat ride?

    • @leeannthon8554
      @leeannthon8554 3 месяца назад

      It was $315 one way before taxes and fees, including fare protection since we were traveling far from home. You don’t have to take your vehicle, you book a ticket separate for yourself and your vehicle. We did it for the experience more than anything. It also avoided the hassle of driving through Chicago and the opportunity to move around while traveling which is a lot nicer than being cooped up on the road!

    • @tylerthon2214
      @tylerthon2214 3 месяца назад

      Yes you can. You do not have to have a vehical to ride the ferry. Yes 380 is alot.

    • @jamesnelson6980
      @jamesnelson6980 3 месяца назад

      Yes, you can ride as a walk on passenger.

    • @CheeseheadMedia
      @CheeseheadMedia 3 месяца назад

      You can do a round trip as just a passenger for about $110. Also realize that Manitowoc to Luddington is about the middle of Lake Michigan. It is a 7 hour drive not including Chicago traffic if you go around the bottom and an 8 hour 30 minute drive if you go across the top of the lake between these two cities. That is a lot of driving that is being eliminated plus you get to rest as well. So it may well be worth the cost for some people.

    • @RLTtizME

    Ive had my 426 running on 10-40 for years now. When i stripped the head after flooding it, literally nothing was wrong, the valves, lifters, crank case, all were spotless except the water flooding 4 cylinders, im a firm believer on adding atf maybe 1/2-1qt every 3-5k just to help clean stuff out like that. I now have 170k miles on a 6.1 based 426 and have had no issues at all. Never even had to replace the pushrods or valves after the flood
