It’s so refreshing to hear people be vulnerable about their struggles and mindsets they’re faced with. That’s something lately I’ve felt like I have to face alone or hide and be ashamed of and that’s added fuel to the fire for me in a negative way. It’s time we normalize our struggles and talk about our brokenness because God uses our brokenness for his glory

I thought I was the only one that was like “God slam the door completely shut if it’s not your will, like bolt it shut” And then God shuts the door and I’m like well maybe the wind closed it and then here comes Jonathan slapping sense into me and slamming the door shut again since I didn’t listen the first time

So glad someone is addressing this topic! I’ve had people that made me feel so stupid for not getting a KJV Bible right off the bat coming back to church. They criticized my different translations and made me feel less than. I’m a huge advocate to yes always read KJV but refer to other translations! KJV is hard and I’ve seen it where those same people who hated on me and my translations completely misinterpret the KJV and take it way out of context because they’re too prideful to use another translation. Thank you for normalizing this!

wow! this podcast has helped so much with my walk with God!! I've struggled with mental health for a long time, and I didn't really know what I was supposed to do about it, but all I knew to do was to pray and read the word, but there has been some sinful things that God has been taking out of me especially the past few months. But I was just talking to God about how I don't know what to do to be freed from a poor mindset, and right after I was going to listen to a message on RUclips, and the first thing that popped up on my RUclips fyp was an Out of the Boat podcast video about dominion in the mind. It's just so amazing how God works in so many ways!!

I've heard so many people "hear from God." Not that I am doubting or anything, but how do they know it's God talking? How do they listen and discern/know his voice?

Also, I am a big fan of linguistics, and the way the Hebrew gets interpretted (I think) has a lot to do with how grammar gets encoded into the words via vowels or word/root functions, right? However the ancient scripts had no vowel markings if I understand right, so Jewish scholars added the vowels in later times (hence the debate of the YHWH pronunciation). I guess I'm just floundering to express that I wish I could read ancient Hebrew sometimes because I don't have the grammatical knowledge.

I like the NASB. It sticks pretty close to how the KJV translates words. (Also sometimes I look at the New Jewish Publication Tanakh because they do well to pull out certain key images at some points.)

There is an organization named King James Bible Research Council. They have many resources that are of value to understand why this “debate” of only KJV is important. Today language is changing because of this the KJV needs to be revised. The problem is that the KJV is not copyrighted, the other versions are. Therefore, there is a push by their publishers to sell those instead of the KJV.

Dumb giggle to prayer, quickest demeaner change since Slick Willie’s as he approached a saf event. One doesn’t have to be wise in their own eyes to discern those scriptures. Prob are Baptists, and why is this even some kind of release?

I prefer the KJV or Holy Bible, which is what the book was called before it was labeled the KJV. The problem with other translations are the contradictions within themselves and the contradictions they have with the KJV. For example, when Jesus cursed the fig tree & it withered. The other books will contradict this and other areas as well

This is a very important conversation in pentecost. I am a HUGE advocate for other versions. I'm a big ESV guy (it's my primary bible) and I still have the Holy Ghost, I still believe in Holiness and separation, and I'm still a One God believer 😂

The day after I heard this episode I “crossed my Red Sea” and not only faced but conquered my fears during a life group. Little did I know me stepping out of my boat led my coworker who’s visiting church to want to pursue her relationship with God and led her to want to take the next steps. All I remember is this episode replaying In my head and if i didn’t face my fear , my testimony wouldn’t have touched my co worker and since then my other coworker has been asking more about God and church and she has no relationship with God. Thank you Jesus for spirit led podcasts like this where you can hear the voice of God, and when you step out of the boat and trust God the blessings that come from it are insane!
