A "How-To" for replacing the driver's side mirror on a (2005) Scion tC. I bought the replacement from Toyota/TRD (www.trdsparks.com/displaypartsincategory.php?Mdl_dtl=633&Part_cat=7&parts_id=965) IIRC - note that the link is for the 2005 year; but you should be able to search the site for whichever year model you need. Oh my gosh I can't believe it! This is exactly what was wrong with mine! I watched other videos before yours and figured that it had to be an expensive part. Then lo and behold, I press the button and watch the water come out through the plastic part inside. Did exactly as you told in the video and fixed my problem. Thank you so much

Hey Keef, thanks for the video. I did some work on some common issues today. This being one. I re-attached the hose to the nozzle. However after a few uses the issue persists and it fell off again. Any idea how to keep them together?

+Keef C My trunk is stuck. The hatch is broken in the back and I can't open it. People say their is an emergency button or you can stick a flat head in some part in the middle enclosing in the back. But doesn't work. You have any suggestions? Thnx

Thanks so much for this! A pigeon committed suicide at 85 mph, exploding both himself and my mirror! Almost a $500 fix at the dealership! I'm about to pick up my exact match mirror at the local wrecking place for $50 and install myself with your auspicious help. :)

My. drivers mirror light stopped working i didn't know you had to buy the complete mirror assembly if your blinker stops working..I bought the light by itself cost me 40dollars...WhichI couldn't figure out how to open the dam thing ...I bought a complete mirror assembly on Ebay for 50 dollars and super easy to install..Thanks for the video

Could you tell me how to just replace the lens of the signal light on the mirror its busted would I still have to take the whole mirror off?
Sorry Christie, I'm not sure of the answer to that. It may be less trouble to replace the full mirror housing. Wish I could be more help.

What is the mirror size??
Thanks. Your video really made it easy. Replaced both the driver's side and passenger's side on my son's car. Boy, are kids hard on their cars. I had two different manufactures. Depo and Polyway. The Depo was a better product and fit better.

Would you expect this to be the proper installation of a 2010 TC also?
Hey Corey - I'd suspect it's probably very similar. The part no. might change but I'd think the overall design would be consistent.
Nice vid, but the one step I was looking for was to how to remove the mirror itself from the housing. I'm guessing yours was missing and is why you are replacing the whole thing. If not, please let me know how you did it.
Hey saidas108 - yeah, I pretty much destroyed my entire housing and shattered the mirror inside as well. So in my case replacing the whole thing was necessary. I'm not sure if just the mirror/glass can be removed/replaced from the housing - sorry.

Thanks Keef, My Daughter just bought a 05 Scoin and the passenger side mirror was broke, they said they fixed it and all they did was glue it and tape it. It Looks horrible. I asked them to replace it and they said it would cost over $400. I bought one on ebay for $40 and fixed it myself. Thanks for the great video.
