A long video showing my two hours attempting to melt brass, copper and aluminium in order to replicate an antique brass drum nut that secures the wheels to a victorian serving trolley. Doesn't look like 3 months work, but you don't see the 20 trips to the skip, the bringing in of 50 bags of cement and 100 bags of sand, the wet cutting of the stone, the foundations 2 feet below ground, the 30 bathtubs of hand mixed concrete, the fixing and use of machinery etc etc ... the blood, sweat and tears. I decided to take on a huge project involving 20 trips to the local recycle centre dumping old masonry, concrete and tons of earth. A skip-load of cash was spent on building materials including real granite to build something easy to maintain and smart. This is part one. Part two shows the outcome after 3 months work. Cutting and building with stone alone is hard, very very hard!

I don’t think you should go anywhere near them machines alone use them As they say a little knowledge is dangerous
buy a sharpening kit. that chain has loads of life left in it. just needs regular sharpening.

i just rebuilt my ts 420 saw with all new kit everything and on startup it smoked but i thought maybe for the oil i put on the piston and rings and head not much i let it run for 20-30 min at idle for breakin and it smokes badly on the rev up .......took it back apart to check the rings and head all looks good comp test at 87 -90 no leakdown after 10 min what do you think could be the issue
Why buy a new chain ?.You only needed to sharpen the old one and you had it to loose.
I think the word choke at the top is a bit of a give away
I keep saying “staircase” but of course they are garden steps. I did have access via my house, but it’s awkward and of course makes a terrible mess.
If an engine seems to be bogging down, it's always best if uncertain of the choke lever position to experiment and if it comes to proper revs in the opposite position that's the correct position. The throttle and choke linkages under the cover are not difficult to remove and refit on that model.
What issues were resolved? Understanding what the choke icon means?
Choke means...choking off the air..this flap blocking off the mouth.
Like others have said - What is "OFF" is the "air intake" . When it is "OPEN" it means it can get "air". It does NOT mean choke on or choke off. (except with the understanding that when you restrict the "air" you are choking it - Same goes for people but don't do that :)
Good video! I work on mowers. Good idea to help someone understand basically it was flooded. Its frustrating when your equipment dosent start!
The choke works by closing the inlet venturi, hence the term choke. This makes it suck more petrol by restricting the air inlet.
The first symbol on the stihl saw means the chamber is closed so the engine is choking ( choke on ) the middle one is half choke ( choke half open ) and the last one is the chamber open air getting in ( choke off )
