iPollo G1 Mini Calls it Quits, Heatsink Falls Off!

    Love to se you trie to fix it yourself and succeeding, if those lovely welds fail again you can always count on cable ties!! or you could clean all the solder surfaces with isopropyl alcohol, pre heating the ''nuts'' and wile you place them on the board continuing heating for a wile ''5min'' with the soldering iron. If you clean really well the soldering iron tip you can place the tip into the nut treads to heat it up then place it to the board and hold it there with the iron, put the solder right on the 90° between the nut and the board, should wick right into the board and nut... Ooh, your are gonna need some needle nose pliers or tweezers. Hope it helps.

      @@dubbs-1 Gotcha, yeah, I did the same - changed all of those 18awg for 16awg. Theoretically should be ok if not using for kawpow.

      same, running 16awg dual 6+2 pin cables atm which should be fine for everything except max kawpow clocks. working on solution for that.

    this arrived just in time! Many thanks Just got 12 more delivered today which will be packed into a mini x12. For the PCIE did you use a custom cable to connect both connectors? Or a splitter

      Nice! I have 16 gauge dual 6+2 pin cables for each card atm. The only algo I have found that really would warrant even better cables is running kawpow max out on these. Hoping to get into more algo specific content on these in the future.

      @@motorcityminer confirmed reverse fans cool these far better. Went from needing 80-90% fans down to 65% and cards are running about 5-10 C lower. Thank you

      @motorcityminer I have a mini 12 from PCSP on the way, I believe it only has one 6+2 cable per card. Would I need to replace the wiring to accommodate for two 6+2 per card?

    Good to know. I'll have to do this come spring time or if I tear the rigs apart any sooner. Looking forward to unleashing them on some kapow coins in a month or two when the temps drop a little more

      Nice, and yeah, these things are Kawpow monsters. The reverse airflow definitely helps get more headroom on high wattage algos like kawpow. Can easily get 62+ MH @ around 250w

    • @motorcityminer
      @motorcityminer Месяц назад

      Same, but I have also found w/ the proper tuning, the CMP vBIOS versions can hit the same performance on most algos. There are a few exceptions where I wasn't able to achieve the same efficiency but so far I have been able to hit the same max hashrates on both vBIOS for every algo. More content to come.

    For me I’m done with mining Kas unless you have a big machine that can mine fast or you can get the miner fast it isn’t worth the cost of buying by the time the machine arrives it’s hardly profitable

      Yeah, the little machines are all kinda bricks at this point. Unless you get great deal on the first batch of big machine. Really becoming a coin just for the big farms.

      Yeah, really hoping for a shipment delay on Bitmain's part. IceRiver batches tend to be rather small so shouldn't affect earnings to much, especially since they don't have a full size ASIC yet.
