great job. 👍
Would it be redundant to put sealant around the part that goes down into the roof?
The tab that's reaching the end at 5:51 does that just get caulking around it? Thanks
Person probably called around trying to find what the cheapest or "best deal" was. Well, here's a picture of cheap work
Do you have the next video that would show how to install the counter flashing on the stucco walls? This is incomplete and therefore confusing to newbies.
Thank you!
These are soakers, this is not step flashing . Know your job .
When you install foam closures on the soffit ends, do those also allow for air to flow through?
Is there going to be another metal flashing on step flashing? wondering if you have a video. Sorry, I am so new, never install this.
ruclips.net/video/Maq_aJsUTEA/видео.html This video will show something similar that would go on next.
@@schoenroofing Thank you for the tip and your video. Really appreciate that sir
Also, do you have a video how to cut the line on the stucco wall?
Like a glove! Nice to see a true craftsman putting his skills to work. So many scams out there unfortunately.
What is this video aboot
Thanks!!!
What is your preferred caulk on the motor joint?
We like Malco Supra.
All and all great install one thing coming from a pro repair man such as my self is seal the color to the vent with caulking so the moisture doesn’t leak out eventually all that moisture will rot out your roof deck. I repair a ton of these vents because people just sit there vents on top of flange.
Agree. Duraflow has now changed their flanges to a single pice system so we are happy about that!
As an adjuster that’s Not how you tarp.
Great Job, however the long piece going up the chimney side you put the triangle bend behind the step flashing when you slid it up....couldn't rain water run down that bent triangle and then now it's behind the step flashing?
Either way is ok. That is the one "pin hole" that needs caulking. I put it behind so it hides the shiny step flashing from the ground. Good question.
Nice work. What brand are those blue snips??
I believe they are Malco
Look man I was watching until you dropped the bomb my 7 year old sitting beside me we do not talk like that why don't you consider that when making a video. Will never watch another.
Nice.
Thank you! Cheers!
Where's the diverter? If you start your starter from the opposite end chances are you can still run full first shingle.
Great video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
I never see that kind of mastic before 😮
I love doing metal roofing
Why is people complaining for the music the guy made us a huge favor of explaining this useful information for us. For stupid people like you is that people gets unmotivated to do stuff later on be nice be positive and don’t focus on petty stuff.
Very helpful, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the awesome video! Best kick out ever.
Couldn't agree more!
Thats was beautiful, but question. I have a flat roof with a mansard and have leaks around the end of the flat, to the mansard. any suggestions on what needs to be done. I have pictures but cant load on here. Im a policeman so low budget unfortunately. Gunna try myself which ive done in the past
It sounds like the material is not up the wall high enough behind the material that is on the mansard.
I'll save everyone some time: Don't watch the 8 minute video Pool noodle or pipe insulation foam. Just a little bit stuffed in each rung on each side You can use spray foam, but it'll be tough get out, ie of you want the rung hole clear to hold the brush handle
Ahhhhh man! Your taking all the fun out of watching an awesome video! Do not use spray foam as it can trap water in the rung.
Allstate says “ our photos don’t show any damage “.
USAA says “our guidelines state that this is not damaged”.
State Farm says “no damage to see here”
Thanks for your videos.
I have a question, what cocking do I use for metal and with stako?
I always use Malco Supra.
jesus the music.... I have klipsch surround sound and bass on the computer.... scared the shit out of me... but thanks for the video... omfg lol
lol. Sorry. One of my first videos.
No good roofer uses a gun
It would be better if you showed how the other attached ripech looks like
So did he mean on the sides just nail through the shingle sonit hilds down the flange without nailing through the flange? Just screw the bottom side through the actual flange only?
Oven vents any different?
Nope. Same install but the hole will probably be bigger.
Good job.tanks for teaching
Thanks for watching. Glad it helped.
Would you recommend using a vented closure at the bottom of the panel as well?
this is a very helpful video, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Why not match the color of the screw to your metal bro
Concrete screws need to be caulked as they will rust eventually. All screws were caulked at the end.
Watching the off colored nail go in the peak hurt my soul. Some good concepts that I never thought of tho.
Thanks for the comment! That nail will be covered by the ridge cap so no need to worry.
What if you don't have siding going over top what do you recommend?
If there is no siding I would install a counter flashing.
Just what I needed this morning! I’m off to build one now!! Thank ya!!
Lol. Go get it!
That’s a soaker, not a step flashing.
wTH why loud music
Welp I guess I’m going to the next video. Why would you hammer on the shingles like that
Thats to find the rafters. No shingles were hurt in the production of this video.
Another DIY clown that doesn't flash a wall correctly.
The only thing he does right is when he adjusts the bend in the flashing so it lays against the wall. step 1. lay flashing (don't nail) step 2. lay shingle over flashing (nail through shingle and flashing) step 3. place flashing (don't nail) step 4. lay shingle over flashing (nail through shingle and flashing)
More than 1 way to do things.
