4 Ways Your Child Can Receive Social Security Benefits
What Social Security Benefits can children receive?
There are four types of Social Security help for children.
1) Supplement Security Benefits- SSI is a benefit available for disabled children. However, the family of the child must meet a strict medical test for their condition to be severe enough to qualify. They must also meet the economic requirements for SSI that basically limit the program to families that are impoverished.
2) Survivors benefits. - If a parent dies and that parent paid in to Social Security, the child can receive benefits off of the parent’s account so long as they are a minor.
3) Dependent’s Benefits. - If a parent begins drawing Social Security benefits for themselves ...

Просмотров 2,7 тыс.2 года назад
I’m Social Security expert and attorney, Robert Donati, and today I want to talk about what happens to your SSI benefits if you receive money from a personal injury suit like a car wreck or injury. I has in a car accident in 2016 and I'm on SSDI at the time. SSDI paid my bills throughout my treatment such as surgery, and being Paralyzed for two yrs I had therapy to regain my Shoulder, my arm and hand back again. After Medicaid and Medicare and my Attorney's fees I got what was left over and it equaled up to seventy thousand. Being that I was already on disability when the accident happen I knew that Medicare and Medicaid would pay, and I knew I would have to pay it back through my settlement. I found out that the RIS could not take out Taxes or I would not have to pay taxes on it. But now, because I was frugal and paid just my bills from that money, your saying I might have to pay it back even though medicare got paid? I don't know? I'm not on Social Security Income. I have a small check of 644.00 a month from ssdi, but here recently since I turn 65 they dropped the DI and now I get SSA which I don't even know what that means? PLEASE HELP ME I'M CONFUSED!

Question: I have been on SSDI for 2 years and called went down to the SS office to ask how much longer do i have to wait for my children to start receiving the SSDI monitary benefit? They stated that "I", never started the paper work for them and it was up to me. I was to that they were going to do that and it was going to be "automatic". After the ladies long review of her computer screen, she answered back with the SS did send me a letter to fill out and send in to start the paper work. Long story short they are now "in processing for the benefit". Question; will they receive back pay for the entire 2 years? I seen the yes and no answers...? Thanks.

It’s critical to Keep anything & everything SS sends you. I bought a cheap briefcase from Walmart Under 10 bucks. Plus everyone who is collecting any SS should have a SSA account online. You can access all kinds of information. I store my password & username. Inside.

Well, I received my answer last Friday, and it was NO. They only went back 6 months. So my kids lost out 1.5 years of benefits due to the fact that I or my attorney did not apply for the benefits after I was awarded SSDI. Even though, I had no idea what was going on and all the paperwork was going through my attorney, and after talking with them, they only covered my SSDI claim and NOT another claim. So my children loose out.

FL has a medicaid Trust, so you can keep your medicaid with a medicaid Trust Lawyer!

It costs around $2,000 to $6,000 to set up that trust though.

If i file for my SSA benefits as soon as eligible at 62 and I have kids under 18 eligible for up to 75% of my benefit as a family maximum - if I start working again, I know my benefits wife gets reduced $1 for every $2 I earn…but does this also reduce what they can get? Thx.

how do you know the child wont end up in a government program that experiments on them and later kidnaps them repeatedly as adults??? Shouldnt all children be considered disabled by way of the environment.

Can you answer this question for me? I hit a big jackpot in May of this year and I contacted social security immediately to tell them about the money that I had won. They told me to spend down on the money and to keep receipts of everything that I spend and I did all of that. Is there any idea how long it will be before I start back receiving my ssi money? I have spent all of the money. Thank you in advance.

    • @MSRez95
      @MSRez95 2 дня назад

As long as you spent that money the month that you deposited that check then about 2 months you won’t get benefits

Sooo what happens after you prevent a garnishment by proving the money was from social security benefits? There seems to be absolutely no information about the next step.

I received a settlement last year in July 2022. I had my hearing on Jan 2023 and received a fully favorable decision. Will that settlement effect my approval. I spent it down but it took 4 months and now in under 2000 mark and been so since last Nov 2022.
