    I wonder did Henry knew that adultery was sin👀bet he wasn’t ready to have that conversation

    • @AdaKizi248
      @AdaKizi248 День назад

      That's why he was so desperate to have his inconvenient marriages "annulled" - so he could say that technically they hadn't taken place, and therefore, technically, he wasn't committing adultery when he went off with someone else. Whatta sweetheart ....

    Well Mary did lock her up in the tower of London, and Elizabeth really did think she might get executed by her. Also, Mary had Elizabeth "convert" to Catholicism and had her promise that she would keep England a Catholic country in order for her to succeed her. Mary probably didn't believe Elizabeth's conversion was sincere though and was reluctant to allow her to succeed her, but she had no other option.

    U always have to take the good with the bad. Mary resented Anne but was also set in her ways, where Elizabeth was her outlet on anne.

    Mary submitted herself to marriage in the hopes of bearing a child to displace Elizabeth. Had there been a *viable alternative* to Elizabeth, I believe Mary would have had Elizabeth killed. Particularly if Mary had born a living child.

    • @history_with_leah
      @history_with_leah Месяц назад

      @redadmiralofvalyria867 the story of the 1 pregnant woman is exaggerated. Pregnant women were not burnt or even tried until after rhe woman gave birth. The only way this happened was if the woman herself did not even know she was pregnant (or it's invented). Plus it's still not as horrific as the tens of thousands of deaths henry viii was responsible for. Or Elizabeth I's order to kill innocent Irish civilians during the Desmond rebellions in the 1580s.

    2:30 it was not the beginning of the Catherine of Aragon’s downfall, that began in late 1525/early 1526 when Henry set his eye on Anne Boleyn after it became clear that Catherine wasn’t going to give Henry a son. Henry’s mind was extremely impressionable, and even in 1528 when he was in the thick of trying to get an annulment, he said that if he had to choose again, and the marriage was good, he would’ve chosen Catherine again.

    *Anne of Clèves, Catherine Parr, Anne Boleyn and Catherine of Aragon are my four favourite queens among the six wives of Henry VIII Tudor of England!!! 😍🥰❤ Don't get me wrong, I also like Jane Seymour and Catherine Howard but they aren't my favourite Henry's wives because Catherine Howard is a naive, ignorant and illiterate teenager (for me, Catherine Howard isn't a real queen but a poor child bride) and Jane is practically a passive woman, a slave to the patriarchy and to Henry VIII (her motto was: «bound to obey and serve»), quite illiterate and a baby-making machine capable only of embroidery, housework and prayer 😅 Instead, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Parr, Anne Boleyn and Catherine of Aragon were badass, strong, courageous, intelligent, refined, elegant and highly cultured women 😍🥰❤*

    Ridiculous- just shows how little you know of Edward and his religious beliefs. How about reading a little more about Edward. You will find he was a little prig. His telling Barnaby not to dance was consistent with his puritanical beliefs. Even if he did have a crush on Barnaby- that doesn’t make him gay. Lots of boys - particularly if they are quite sheltered - have close male friends.
