New Dior Homme Parfum 2025 - Packaging, Scent Profile & Comparison
Dior Homme Parfum is a must-try item for anyone who's interested in fragrances. It's one of the most popular and sought after fragrance amongst fragcomm members, particularly in the USA. Late in 2024, a revised and reformulated version of Dior Homme Parfum was announced and this time it will be officially available in the USA. The perfumer this time around was Francis Kurkdjian. From the bottle to the restructuring of the fragrance, I'll talk all about the new Dior Homme Parfum 2025 and compare it to an earlier release which I already own.

Did Maison Anthony Marmin Reformulate Sheikh Al Faransi?
Просмотров 93Месяц назад
In my earlier videos (reviews & shorts) a common question was whether Maison Anthony Marmin reformulated Sheikh Al Faransi. The attar in question is one of their bestsellers. Sheikh Al Faransi contains authentic ambergris, a rare and expensive raw material used in perfumery, thus this attar is very unique. Due to the rarity of the raw ingredients, the price of Sheikh Al Faransi is quite high an...

ONE FRAGRANCE HOUSE ELITE NOIR UNBOXING & FIRST IMPRESSION
Your experienced insight & tips are much appreciated. Like you said, I am trying to macerate my purchases, immediately upon arrival, and then, leave 'em alone for a month, at the least. I'm still new at this fragrance thing, but, like anyone else, I want to give my scents the opportunity to be the best performer it can possibly be, being as I spent my money on it, therefore, as you mentioned, I can get an idea of what a scent is like, what it's doing, in those 5-10 initial sprays, and then, once the month is up, I'll try it out, wear it around, get a better idea of how it's working with my skin chemistry, and then, based on my observations then, I can decide if I'm gonna put it back up, for further maceration, or, If I'm feeling like it's ready for game time. Thus far, that system seems to be working for me, but, then again, I'm not as hard-core a frag-head as some of my fellow enthusiasts...yet. I'm constantly seeking out further enlightenment, with regard to what scents, and, how to best maintain them, so, again, thanks for the information.
DHP 2025 sounds closer to DHI than DHP. I guess the labelling from Dior is misleading
What others here are saying kinda makes sense too. Dior is most likely enroute to an elixir. Maybe they're reshuffling things under new names. 🤔
I ordered a bottle today and I cant wait for it to arrive.
Excellent. Keep me posted. I'm confident you'll enjoy it a lot.
NAAAAAYYYYYY... FUXK FK
Hello, the smell is said to be similar to mancera cedrat boise, do you think it is
Nope. They're nowhere close to each other. I have Akdeniz, Cedrat Boise Intense and regular Cedrat Boise. They're not similar at all.
A new Parfum that smells like the old Intense AND in a smaller bottle. Thanks Dior....🤨
I really can't understand why some.of these brands are coming up with this concept of smaller bottles but at such high price tags. I think it's kind of loke creating an illusion of feeling "rich" cuz a buyer was able to get it. Not to forget that many out there are certainly living beyond their means. Just a thought.
Washings for the masses
True!
Then , i have to buy two bottles quickly , in lebnanon the DHP 2023 2024 still exist … oh my god , why the reformilatuon why 😡😡😡 Why the companies of fragrances did that ? Why They turns the good scent to bad Why
Stop waiting and buy them asap. Every second you waste and that stocknis depleting fast.
These corporate has a pathological greed...
Sad reality.
I don’t think redoing Dh parfum with US release is a bad thing . What IS greed is just hearing that jpg is doing a le male elixir PARFUM. Talk about a pathetic cash grab. Doing elixir flankers now?!
@@CooliewhistlesHaven't heard that one. I thought it was going to be Le Male Elixir Absolu?
Solid review. You are one of the first to the show. So few reviews of this thus far though it seems to be available for sale and incredibly in North America. (Unlike the last DHP)
Sime here have mentioned the reformulation was the reason why it's being sold in North America and it's so true. The OG never got sold in North America officially. They have all these fragrance regulatory bodies and then certain formula and ingredients aren't accepted in some regions. I guess Dior noticed how they're losing a huge market here so they resorted to this move.
Big mistake by Dior but I can see why they did that… “Money and Greed” + they can get much more greedy and take the OG Parfum DNA and turn it into Dior Homme Elixir.
Yep.
Whe the hell is Francis Khudjan doing to Dior these days, wtf
I guess it's all happening as per Dior's decision. Perfumers merely work as per instructions. Typical corporate world, right?
@brian19869 imagine being paid to paint a duck face over Mona Lisa because not enough people are paying to see it as it is.
Sad reality, my friend.
Whatever LVMH tell him to do, sir.
Exactly.
Just got mine today and it is a huge disappointment. It smells like The Most Wanted Parfum with a little bit of Iris in the opening. The amber note is too overpowering and gourmand. I can see the comparison to DHI but it’s nothing like DHP2020. I’m glad that I only bought one bottle but it’s a hard pass for what you get in return.
Exactly the thing I wanted to address by saying that the og DHP.and new 2025 DHP are very different fragrances.
@ I don’t hate the new one but it should’ve been a flanker or part of a new line. It is a shame that the iris note almost disappears on this one after a few minutes. I definitely wouldn’t grab this one over DHP or DHI.
Yes, agreed on this.
I tried it out yesterday and while it’s not a flop I wouldn’t say it’s a hit. It’s prob better for the American market but it doesn’t beat the og Parfum. This one actually smells like you took DHI and mixed it with Gentleman Society OG. I actually prefer DHI over the new parfum and out of all of them the og Parfum is the best
I hear you. From what I've read, the way they did the reformulation was by taking facets from all the flankers and integrated into the new parfum version. Also, they mentioned how the whole iris flower and plant was used. So they did play with the ingredients and formula quite a bit and it shows. The og is og. No questions about that one. If you watch my first impression video you'll see this is exactly what I said. Better not compare the OG to this one. They're very different fragrances.
@@brian19869 💯 great point especially very few fragrances in general match up to the og DH Parfum
Exactly. Nothing like the OG DHP
With the rumours of dior homme elixir I think this new parfum will replace intense
@@ncpmadhead guess they’re reshuffling the Dior Homme lineup.
Nooo..... 😭 My Favorite parfume has just been destroyed. Have 2 sealed bottles and now looking for the third... Damn you Francis!
I guess it’s best to stock up before existing supplies run low. The OG bottles will reach sky high prices soon.
Agreed I ordered a backup bottle
Good move. I'm just curious to see how high the prices go once the OG is pulled from EU market and stocks deplete
I've always thought 2 things are going to happen ever since i heard Francis took over Dior: wiil be ending up with LESS juice at HIGHER prices!... And was i right! Thanks for the video bro.
Without any doubt. Higher prices and smaller bottles. Guess Dior is following in the footsteps of MFK sizing. I wonder how long it will take discounters to get these at affordable prices cuz not everyone can buy at this full retail tag.
Sounds like they ruined it and removed everything that was good about the og
Ruined it or not, but I can assure you onw thing. The Dior Homme Parfum you knew and the Dior Homme Parfum 2025 are polar opposites in my opinion. They're nowhere on similar grounds and any hardcore og DHP lover is most likely going to avoid the latest release. That's why I mentioned if you consider the new one as a fragrance by itself, then it's all good.
maan the video quality... flawless
I always take this type of feedback very seriously. Thank you for the comment. It really helps me understand if things are working right. 🙏
Never liked Oud or Leather in any fragrance! Too heavy and dense. I love the 2025 Version immensely!!
Exactly the reason why I addressed the matter. Thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts 🙏
I don have de parfum one. I love 2020 and Intensity.
See if you can sample the og parfum and the new 2025 parfum. Do lemme know which one you liked better.
Will probably have to give it time to macerate. Do you think it’s similar to DH 2020? The base notes seem to point to it.
From what I've read, Francis took a little of something from each flanker of the Dior Homme lineup and compiled this formula. Hence, rather than a dark fragrance, this version is more versatile and easy to wear. I guess, one can easily pull it off until it becomes super humid and sweaty.
@ thanks 🙏🏾
🙂
@ no doubt I’m aware of that. But it does macerate even more over time once you reintroduce oxygen to the bottle.
@ thanks 🙏🏾
I dont know why they cant just make it a 100ml bottle. Even if they charged a few bucks more. I hate 75ml bottles. I enjoyed your review, though!
I have this exact same question on the bottle size. Also. I'm seeing this new trend of fragrance brands (designer or indie) that they're claiming those smaller sizes are more versatile and easy to carry around. Dude, if I liked something that bad, I wouldn't mind the extra few grams of weight, right? It's also a business tactic too. You're neither here nor there with a size like 75ml especially when you really like it, so you end up buying multiple. Money in their pockets 😛
Is similar to givenchy reserve privee? Would it be redundant to own both?
I'm sorry to say that I haven't tried Givenchy Reserve Prive 😔. I can understand that the note pyramid might indicate similarities, but I'm pretty sure Dior wouldn't make a move like that. I could be wrong, but that's my intuition. Maybe I should visit a store and sample Givenchy to find out if it's the case or not.
Reserve prive is a boozy iris...so no it's no where near that....notes completely different.
Oh, not many have reviewed this. It is in my Top 30 of all time. Collector of 15+ years here. Will subscribe. It is better than A-Men and nowadays even cheaper than A-Men.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and greatly appreciate the support. 🙏
Will skip that one, DHI remains undefeated.
I still haven't tried DHI, but I'm actually in the process of getting all the variants of the DH line-up.
@brian19869 big foul, Top 10 of all time. This coming from a snob! A staple for every collector.
On it, my friend. I'm working on it. 🙂
I think you don't need the DHI if you have the DHP
@patrickstar7693 other way round.
Thank you for this video!
Appreciate the positivity. 🙏. Thank you too.
Yesterday i buy Woody intense i like only mid part out standing the last part is think became over sweet i like only middle part
I hear you. There are times when a specific layer of a fragrance is much more desirable.
I never was a fan of the original Dior Homme and other variation. I quit liked the 2020 reformulation . I’ll probably go to the store to check it out , I couldn’t stand the Original Parfum , guess I am the minority 😃
I can totally relate as to why you can't stand the OG parfum. Since it's available in the US, I'm sure the stores will have it. Go for a trial. Do let me know how you gelt about the new edition.
@@brian19869 I will thank you ! I know lots of people say it’s similar at to Armani Code Parfum at dry down, so if that’s the case I will probably won’t buy it since I already own that one
I hear you. 🙏
Patchouli can have a chocolate facet. maybe that's what you are picking up!
Yes, I realized it a few hours later after recording cuz I was still noticing how wonderful the transitions were. Thank you for your response.
Agreed with most ur review.. i own both and yess its totally a different scent.. since im more into DHI dna.. so i more lean into the DHP2025 tho the iris powdery scent is much toned down here.. i love the former DHP scent too.. but since im living in tropical country.. its a bit hard to wear it. and the latest DHP for me is more easy and wearable here imo😊.. anyway both are great.. and wish they will come with elixir with former DHP dna.. it will be wild 🫠😊
Very happy to hear about your experience and thoughts. Yes, there's a good possibility that they might just come up with an Elixir. Let's see what the future holds.
if they repackaged dior homme intense into a parfum for 160 50ml the world is going to stop buying dior I think. they will come out with an elixir next hopefully
And the elixir will be a hopefully be a re-release of the OG Dior Homme Parfum.
There's a good chance of the elixir happening. It's like a trend now, unfortunately.
🤞
They're coming out with new packaging for Dior Homme Intense as well, so I doubt that's what's happening.
Then I guess they're reshuffling all things Dior Homme line-up.
Appreciate the review. I don’t like oud or rose so I’m excited to give this one a try
The presence of oud and rose in the earlier version is definitely not like the typical combo, however I’ve come to know many who totally couldn’t wear those iterations. The fragrance was causing headaches or the iris became too overwhelming. This version took a different turn. I can assure you one thing. The new release is strong and long lasting. Those few sprays I did on my hand went on for many hours even after several washes. Give it a try. You might just like this 2025 edition.
Today I buy this perfume in ksa only 345 sar with 50% discount I js love this perfume
Excellent. Thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts.
Do I need to macerate, montblanc explorer?
I'm not sure how much it'll help since that juice is seriously weak. You could take a chance and see.
I recently bought the Spain version having heard it was better and longer lasting than the France one. And on first spray I smelled an immediate difference. Spain - more dense, more ambery? Definitely more bold, not as fresh as France. France - More fresh and “lighter.” I think the iris is a little more pronounced. Definitely a difference between the formula and ingredients. The are ridiculously close though. Not enough of a difference to where you should spend additional money on a rarer Spain bottle. Longevity - Spain is a hair longer by maybe an hour, it’s a little darker but not as dark as intense. I do prefer the Spain version.
I can completely agree with your words. There must be some ingredient restriction or formula differences between the Spanish and French versions.
It's very good Brian, I wore this today. What a beast too
Excellent. Very happy to hear back from you. Yes, the cooler temperature certainly makse this fragrance feel a whole lot different and special. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this one. 🙏
First in the comments
✊️
Do you have any other fragrances from that house? If so, could you do a video review?
They did send me those travel sprays of the other two. I will look them up and make a video too. Thank you for your interest. 🙏
Did you contact Ffern before making this video with your packaging complaints? Perhaps, they would have made an exception and allowed you to return your main bottle.
This was an unboxing and first impression thing. I'm sure they could've worked something out, but let's just pause and think about it for a minute. If someone pays that amount of money for such a small fragrance bottle while considering the fact that they're a small company which makes fragrances in very small batches, then I'm sure there's this certain level of expectation. Why would someone need to go through customer care channels for something that should've been all set in the first place? It's not like the bottle shattered during shipping? It was something that should've been in place and intact from the moment it left their warehouse. I'm sure you see my point here.
But the two people ice skating look so happy?
I read that the new batches are 5% more alcohol. Maybe they worded it different on the new bottles.
That straight up means less perfume oil. Then of course the fragrance is gonna be different in many aspects.
I highly recommend you and everyone that read my comment and love Side Effect and have this problem with new versions just try “Eye of Seven Hills Alghabra Parfums” i have both and its very similar to Side Effects (95%) and more muscline with excellent silage and longevity and about half price
Thank you for this useful comparison, and I strongly agree with everything you said. I have 021901 version (2020-5) and i’m really enjoying it (:
Thank you for sharing your experience and findings too. It's a shame they did like this. My latest bottle has become much better over time, but that omph is mellow 😔
Hey Brian! Can you please recommend a good edp that dries down to a mint frag????? Plz
Look into these cuz they have mint and I absolutely love these: Xerjoff Torino21 Amouage Enclave Marshoud 4 White
Beautiful smell. My fav cologne. I collect cologne and this is honestly in my top 5
It's very elegant and sophisticated for sure. Definitely worthy of a high rank. 🫡
@@brian19869do you like the Diptyque house? I recently got more into them. They are lovely also. I also like satin mood from MFK.
MFK Oud Satin Mood is a good fragrance, but it's definitely not to my taste. Haven't explored the house of Dyptique yet, but ai have plans of course.
@ could you give me some recommendations. What houses do you like? Say your top 3? Thanks so much. I love to learn about fragrances.
It's kinda difficult to answer that question cuz I love them all, but since you ask, I'll tell you about some of the preferred houses (not that I like all offerings and have tried things extensively but whatever I own gave me great experiences): 1. Zaharoff 2. Maison Anthony Marmin (attars) 3. Fragrance Du Bois
Small batch companies trying to use sustainable packaging are going to make mistakes. They should make it right for you, but hopefully we can all extend some understanding that we are in a new era of trying to better with these types of products rather than over-producing….and it will take time to work through kinks like inconsistency in packaging.
Agreed on the sustainable packaging materials and minor flaws, but I still can't justify why the seal came in broken 😔. That tight cylindrical container is still ok, but it's the seal that caught my attention.
Another one that I need to try. The list just keeps growing. Thanks, Brian!
Yes, definitely try it. Very cozy and comforting.
Moresque Soul Batik is my favorite Amber fragrance 🤓👌
Yep. I remember you said good things and it's all true.
Welcome to the fan club for this one. I've had Soul Batik for a while and it is an attention grabber on a night out.
Thank you, Shawn. It's really very nice. That whole development over the hours is great too. Lots of transitions.
